I look forward to watching this one too! So, I started backtesting with restricted times to get more realistic returns, where I am allowed to set trades only during awake hours in EU... it would be interesting for me to see if you were to backtest only during one session hours (or some other same hour block) day after day or same strategy but on a random forex pair or gold to see if it holds even approximately the same. Thanks for sharing with us. Looking forward to backtesting along your video.

Great video Paul. I just had a question regarding order blocks. Sometimes in the videos you mention that one looks rubbish but how can you tell if an orderblock is strong or not. Was wondering if you have a video of the different types of order blocks to tell which one would be strong and which one would be weak?
@TradeForexwithPaul

Good quesiton mate. There are several confluences. Mostly to do with a sweep and then followed by imbalance. If that can be coupled up with a POI, then its game time
@arsenic9680
@arsenic9680 7 ай бұрын
what does mitiagated means for you when it comes to an orderblock... it being mitigated 50% or more of the orderblock or a slight little tap into it also makes it a mitigated orderblock, and why did you miss the trade at 31:00, is it bcz you dont trade sessions, which would automatically result you missing trades a lot?
@TradeForexwithPaul
@TradeForexwithPaul 7 ай бұрын
Very good question mate. Technically its the same % penetration of what the entry of that timeframe would be. So the m15 would be the .25, H4 is the .5. I set alerts to get the trades. That miss mentioned was 2 things: 1 - most important- i was too stuck in one directional bias 2 - not concentrating

40:43 I considered this scenario and I think that it is better to have two smaller SLs than one bigger. Returns on average will be better with two smaller sl's imo. We have one average gain with almost twice as small RR vs. at least one winning twice as many RRs and a few losses for getting potentially stopped out once extra per trade. I haven't done propere math, just an eyeball - seems obvious. ... given each SL in all scenarios is always 1%.

@@TradeForexwithPaul overall win rate would cover that extra loss, wouldn’t it? However, multiple stop losses at any location along the trading leg would lead to ruin. Just this marginal case that I see differently .. will do some stats napkin math when I get to my desk for this. …ttys

Yeah, you are right mate. I think I'm just thinking of the balance psychologically when live trading. I've noticed I start to get a little wobbly after just 3 losses in a row and start doubting myself - once I get over that mental hurdle I think the next thing to do is do what you've suggested above. Sky should be the limit then

41:14 if the last line didn't go all the way up but instead it went down, it would have been a fake ChoCh. I am noticing these fake Choch in price action and I wonder do you even try to avoid them? Or you assume each choch is a good one? Ranging market is a challenge for real vs. fake choch.

@TradeForexwithPaul
@TradeForexwithPaul 7 ай бұрын
Ohh, I see - not too much you can do about them apart from pay attention to what it's grabbed and how it THEN goes on to break a zone with momentum to pick your bias. Sometimes this fake choch is easy to see where it would happen. - there were two instances last week of it - the LQ grab right at the end of the week (where I went long) - it was outside of the H4 structure, but due to the close of the previous H4 being nearby but not creating Choch - there was a clear LQ pool in the OB, so taking that long would be absolutely fine AS LONG AS it happened within the next 4 hours

Its a trade off. Go for a 1:1RR and 60% WR strat if it fits your personality. That would be the best for you. (Hypothetically) If you are comfortable with loss streaks of 10 and win streaks of 3, but you're taking 1:4 - 1:15RR wins each time, then there is probably no better out there.

@canitrader2423 7 ай бұрын
I get how you use daily and mostly H4 to plot unmitigated POI where price is likely to react, and then you drop to M15 for final analysis and entry, but can you explain the entry? Do you simply place pending orders in the POI and trust (hope) that price will trigger and then go in your intended direction or do you visually assess each setup and wait for price to enter the POI and then wait for a trade confirmation such as a M15 ChoCh into the direction of the trade, or maybe an engulfing bar ?
@TradeForexwithPaul
@TradeForexwithPaul 6 ай бұрын
No worries mate. 3 ways to trade out of a h4 poi: .5 off the H4. So an H4 trade to the next H4 poi Choch on the m15 after mitigation of the .5 of the h4 Direct entry off the .25 of the m15 within the H4
