That place seems kinda cramped and a bit sketch. Nice variety tho. I went to a place called Harry Harajuku Terrace last year. They have otters, so its absolutely worth checking out lol. My biggest complaint was that many of the animals were extremely sleepy (they were nocturnal). The cafe should consider opening later or switching to a low lighting setting. Anyway, keep up the great work.

This is a good daily vlog, but the contents of it are messed up. 3:52 is just such a horrific frame. There is also the matter of how that much of a variety of exotic animals ended up in a Tokyo store to begin with, 100% at least some of them are from black market origin

I'd love to go to an animal cafe when I'm in japan... but I don't think I can let myself support the way they treat these animals. I don't think it's impossible to have an animal cafe that treats animals well, but they're far too commercialised at the expense of the animals in japan. That said, I am tempted to visit a ferret cafe in okayama that has a bunch of negative reviews that the ferrets bit them and the store owner just laughed at them.

This was hard to watch those poor animals, none of the cages were big enough or the right environment and very dirty and old looking. The terrariums were also not right. Mixing animals who are awake in the day and nocturnal animals is also bad because it forces the nocturnal animals to be awake unnaturally (an ethical cafe with owls cannot exist) same with mixing prey and predator animals in such a small place it’s very distressing for the prey animals. I’m shocked they had a binturong but he was very small they should be larger than that, I wonder if the cramped conditions harmed his development. You said the people cared about the animals but if they did then they would not be running this cruel business, they care about the money the animals bring, if you love animals don’t give places like this money to mistreat them.

Honestly its nifty but... that is too many animals in the place. If it stinks like that which makes ypu stink like that, i don't think those animals are living in healthy conditions. And the way those animals were going crazy on the food, makes it feel like they are not fed well enough.

HOLD up why are they feeding ferrets carrots???? Aren't ferrets meant to eat only meat? I thought they were even more obligate carnivores than cats were. I guess it's less cute to feed a ferret bits of meat :/ I think you should choose a less cruel kind of store to go to all of in japan tbh. Japan's got so many weird things going on, you could at least pick something that exploits your fellow humans instead of animals.

Its nearly impossible for the owners of these "animal cafe" to make it bigger for the animal. This is in greater Tokyo area you have to remember. Real estate is high. Sure, you can riot and ask the place to be shut down for cruelty, but then where it will go? (I will stop you before you say zoo lmao they also dont care.)

We don't need cafes like this in Canada... It's hard enough as is for actually good animal cafes (aka cat cafes that feature rescue cats that are up for adoption) to get up and running. We don't need these cruel kinds of cafes popping up and ruining it for them/making it harder for them to operate. If you want an animal Cafe experience, go to a Cafe in a zoo instead (a legal well run zoo). At least there the animals can be observed in more natural habitats with plenty of space and the right diet. (I would love a ferret Cafe though, that one actually could work 😂. My two ferrets used to go to kids birthday parties and visit the Ronald Mcdonald house in my city before we adopted them, and I'd love a place that destigmatizes them and adopts out rescues or encourages fosters!)

i think both you and the workers are well meaning animal lovers, but i don't think japanese animal cafes have any oversight of what is best for the animals themselves. i hope this doesn't actually become a series because a lot of 'touristy' animal stuff in japan does not seem regulated and cruel.

Animal cafes are really not my thing. I can't stand zoos or aquariums either. The animals are nice and pretty to look at, but I'd rather meet them in their own natural habitat.
