If a child is questioning their gender identity, that should be kept private, not something to put out into the world. She can feel like a girl and believe she is and that’s ok, but it worries me that they need to put that out there as if it’s a big deal, and how far they take it. I understand some people wish they could’ve been the gender they felt they were as a kid as well, but it’s just so risky to have a 7 year old make big changes to their body because of how they feel at that time. I worry for my nieces. The world feels so much scarier than when I was a kid. I never had to think about about my childhood being exploited online as entertainment for strangers in exchange for my parents getting money. There are no laws to protect children online. No laws against using kids for content, no child labor laws, the parents don’t have to pay their kids & they don’t have to save the profits for when the kids become adults, etc. The laws that protect child actors do not apply here, yet they should. Here in the US, there are also no laws protecting the consumer/viewer of online content. For example all of your online activity is collected & sold by every website you visit. Some random person could find one of these kids. Knowing that, how could anyone exploit their own vulnerable and naive children? Children cannot comprehend the dangers of being an online personality. They cannot consent. We need laws. Hope everyone has a great day.

I agree - I think parents who would consider themselves allies that would accept a trans child are affected by the mainstream approach to gender…where, like, you identify as one gender your entire life, when everyone experiences it differently and there are many who question or even live several years as one gender only to switch to a different one.

Exactly! I had to chuckle when she said people have been saying "at 7 there's No way Edie can give proper consent when they ask her if she wants to post a youtube video" yeeeeeet at 7 she can decide she knows fully what being trans is??? I understand some people feel gender dysphoria at younger ages and eventually grow up and are trans but that's not always the case. So many kids play around with gender identity. My best friend growing up at the age of 10 literally wanted to be a boy. So much so that she cut her hair as short as she could and spiked it every day. She also made her mother take her shopping for a whole new wardrobe of boys clothes. This lasted quite a while and her parents just went along with her. Guess what? A couple years later she was done with that. Back to being a super girly girl and laughed at herself for her "boy phase". And before anyone attacks me, I am completely aware that some kids have actual gender dysphoria. However, I am also a mother myself now and I know firsthand what its like seeing kids play around with identity. Its sad to say but a lot of people are jumping on their kids being "trans" because its almost trendy now. We need to let kids be kids. The key is to allow them to explore their identity and not push anything. In 6 years my kid has been a girl, a boy, a dinosaur and a cat but I'm not online broadcasting it all!

I agree. By opening by declaring that the child is trans, they're not giving them an opportunity to change their minds as they grow older. I hope y'all understand that I'm not saying young people can't be trans. I'm saying that they need to be prepared to decide if they're ready to accept their new identity. Being fully tans is a commitment that requires a lot of time, money, and effort. And it must be treated as such. It's very possible for someone to be young and identify as trans. I saw it in a high school classmate myself. She was committed to the transition even though she was getting bullied to hell. But my issue is that some young people don't understand this expensive commitment. They haven't explored parts of themselves to commit to being a trans person. God forbid, she decides to de-transition wasting resources and even surgeries that should have gone to those who are serious about changing genders. Young people need to experiment and explore before committing to something they're not ready for. Allow her to wear whatever she wants and experiment with different identities so when she's a little older, she can commit to changing herself and being proud of that new identity. Simply, she needs freedom and options. Recording her puts expectations to be a certain way that she didn't consent to. Simply, changing your identity shouldn't be seen as changing your outfit. It is a process that deserves care, money, and work. Trans people deserve to know all the options available and be prepared for the unfairness of the world before committing to it. I don't want her to de-transition when she's 21 and be mad at her parents and other trans people because she wasn't ready.

I used to watch them, and I remember there was a time when they didn’t show Emilia and Eduardo, and people in the comments were mad because of that, and at that time they said that it was because they were being respectful to their kids. But idk what happened, that they decided to show their kids in an intrusive way.

I used to too, They saw the views would go up and then when they were pregnant with Alessia everyone wanted to guess the baby’s name as well how much kids brought views to their channel.

Obviously the kid is still figuring out who he/she is. In a video eduardo was saying i don’t like to be a a girl as he was disgusted when he learned that girl have babies. Then in another video she as said she don’t like to be a boy as boys have facial hairs. Its clear she is too young to understand genders, likes and want. May be she just like to dress up. Its the dad who is forcing or imposing his views on that kid. Poor kid she will need lots of therapy because of the dad blasting his privacy online.

Honestly, they need to look into Jazz from "I am Jazz" and see what happened to her with documenting her transition. I think it is great they are supporting Edie on her journey but I think Documenting it could cause more harm than good to her mentally.
@Brandallita2 жыл бұрын
I thought that the reason they started talking about Edie (I’m not sure how she spells it) was so she didn’t have to hide who she was on camera. But I still feel while she shouldn’t have to hide, her journey is her own and shouldn’t be on the internet for all to watch. She’s too young to understand the ramifications of her life being put in the internet. I used to watch them but slowly lost interest around the time they’re youngest turned 1.

@el50012 жыл бұрын
No one is forcing trans kids to be trans. This isn't the problem here. The problem is family channels as a concept
@jacobsed66652 жыл бұрын
@@el5001 It is though. A child doesn’t have the mental capacity to decide if they seriously want to be a girl/boy or not.

I remember when they were friends with Zoella shown in their vlogs/ group friends event when I was an avid Zoey viewer back then. I never thought anything of it because of how young I was then. I grew with Zoella on KZfaq. Until much older I saw them for problematic.

It's weird to me that they did an interview and then privatized everything after it if I'm understanding correctly?
@bec_r_r2 жыл бұрын
Well no point deleting as people have probably already downloaded and they wouldn’t know who has copies. There’s nothing wrong with vlogging your family but you need to be mindful of the family members dignity. They could have a separate channel say on Patreon that deals with issues and people need to join and pay to view there they could do live streams etc for people wanting to talk to others with the same issues. However, I am sceptical about their motives entirely, I believe they are running out of content and are blowing everything out of proportion to gain popularity and interest. KZfaq has changed and people say terrible things, Anna is wrong about that. Human nature pays credence to awful and evil things but overlook nice and kind things as they are viewed as weak. I just hope their second child really does have gender dysphoria because if they are mucking around with the idea that child Eduardo/Edie will blame them for everything wrong in their life.
