So just to scale something there. A lot of people don’t realize that you aren’t falling through the earth during the last part of the fight. Titan lost was so massive and you were so high up in the air that you are actually falling through his body which is also falling out of the sky.

Titan Lost went from a Pepsiman running sequence to God of War format battle with Devil Gundam sitting inside a crater like Shin Dragon, defeated by a Rider Kick, split in half by Casshern, dropping down into the planet like Gandalf vs Balrog and ending with a Jojo punching sequence. The game started out making you think you're playing a serious Game of Thrones inspired game, but no this is the most anime FF ever made by far, with every battle referencing shounen anime and manga.

I think that's the point of the combat of this game. Its not meant to be as complex as Dark Souls, its supposed to deliver feel for the cinematic moments. I haven't beaten it yet to try the FF mode so I can comment on how that changes up the difficulty, but I find myself not caring either way. This is the first FF game since X that has a story that really grabbed me. I'm just enjoying the ride which is what the golden age felt like. I never played any of these games for the combat or side quests. It was always for the story, characters, and music which this game delivers in spades.

@NeutralGloomBot11 ай бұрын
I think it might be the best cinematic game experience to date. They clearly wanted the story to be the focus over combat and exploration and they knocked it out of the park. I'm burnt out on open worlds or soulslikes anyways so there is plenty of room for more narrative based RPGs in my life. Pacing wise it reminds me a lot of FFX at least from the story to game play ratio. Really good balance where you never spend too much time on either before moving on.

I really adore the sheer scale of the Titan presentation in this game. One thing I disliked in Asura's Wrath is the inconsistent scaling of the models and visuals (take Vlitra for example). With how powerful the technology have become over the years, they're able to pull shit like this off with in-game engine. It's absolute eye candy.
@GuyWithAnAmazingHat11 ай бұрын
Characters never had realistic/ logical scaling in gaming because they use artistic scaling as well as technical scaling so that enemies are usually bigger than they should to be easier to target, have accessible hit boxes etc. Just look at classic FF battles, the enemies, some random rat is 5 times the size of player sprites, a boss can be taller than the screen height etc. Even in modern 3D games like Sekiro, Isshin is showed in game to be towering over Sekiro, but in the opening cutscene, Isshin is be towered over by a samurai, this is artistic scaling to invoke David vs Goliath.
@gobokoboobo462011 ай бұрын
@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat Yes, I know. It's necessary to downscale or upscale the model to fit the gameplay. But I mean as in cinematic scenes. In Asura's Wrath, Vlitra whom is supposedly be the size of the planet is sometimes displayed to be the size of a mountain or even smaller, which ruins a bit of the immersion. Just a quick note for our dear Dood: don't forget that when you're playing as Ifrit you still have access to Burst combos (magic attack after melee attack). Ifrit even has special finishers if you press magic attack again after a magic burst. That means both your ground AND aerial attacks, including the lunge (ground melee + jump) and the pyrosault (aerial melee + jump). Try to experiment for even more awesome looking combos! I feel like once you get this game and that the combat is not meant to be as complex as Dark Souls but more about making the fights feel more epic from a cinematic perspective, this game really is a masterpiece of story telling in gaming. I am even starting to get the metaphor behind Clive taking down all the mother crystals. This game is about moving on from the dependency of the past of this series and learning how to embrace change and moving forward. In early FF games it was always about saving or trying to protect the crystals to keep the world in balance. This game specifically laid them out as something that needed to be destroyed as the world's dependence on them became unhealthy and even started to damage the very world they were supposed to be balancing. I haven't finished the story yet so I don't how it plays out for sure, but I feel like this might be one of the hidden meanings of this game that the devs thought about as there is a divide among fans of this series in regards to letting go of the past and embracing change and difference.

I eventually realized Byron is probably the Hildebrand equivalent, but when he first showed up at the hideout his line delivery made me absolutely certain he was going to betray me. It was the most out of left field jarring experience in the game.
@arenkai11 ай бұрын
Really ? I didn't feel that way at all. To me it felt like someone playing a role sure, but the role of the adventurer that knows he's not one and that he's only here to bankroll the rebellion. It's exactly the same as when he says "Rutherford !? Fetch me my cutlass !" You know he's playing a role, it's obvious. The role of the caricatural fearless adventurer. I would seriously have been shocked and disapointed if he ended up betraying Clive. To me it would have been completely out of character from what we know of him.
@nicholasg.544111 ай бұрын
@@arenkai I would have been disappointed as well, but what I knew of the character at the time was one scene that, while touching for sure, I would have classified him as chaotic neutral and generally unpredictable, then out of the blue he shows up at the supposedly very secret hideout acting all jovial and seemingly carefree. The voice actor also had some odd trailing off line deliveries that felt like there was more. Maybe ive been betrayed by these games one too many times in the past xD
@arenkai10 ай бұрын
@@nicholasg.5441 He says he got the location from Sir Wade, with whom he's been dealing for YEARS before he even knew Clive was alive. No, really, it would have made zero sense for him to be a twist betrayal. Nothing went in that direction, and everything goes in the complete opposite. So yes, I think maybe you have too much betrayal trauma in media haha

My favorite part about the Titan Lost fight is you're going to finish murdering a mountain and then in the next video go back to killing bees and helping a dude carve a knife. Also....where's Torgal during that whole thing? Like, he's fighting with you when you enter the chamber...then Kupka turns in to Wyzen and he just sorta vanishes while Clive and Kupka have their big Dragonball throwdown.

I found something about the timing for the moves when it has the bar- the difference between red and yellow is damage but it’s also how long it takes you to recover from the move, red being more lethal in terms of use (I used ice age and noticed this) but it won’t only do more damage and more in terms of finishing combos but it also takes longer to recover from overall after you use it so if you miss or mess it up, you’ll feel like you messed up big time.

Man, this fight was great. Just gonna copy-paste a comment I made on a different video featuring this fight. Things I love about this fight's theme: * I like the fact that apparently Soken couldn't help himself and made this Titan's theme resemble the FF14 Titan's theme (I think he even confirmed on his Twitter that he was asked to make the theme consistent with to the other Eikon battle themes, but couldn't help himself because "it's Titan!"). * There's still a more "consistent" version of the song in the final phase. * I think PlatinumGames were among the developers for the Eikon fights and this fight (and the next Eikon fight) show that off the most to me (wouldn't be surprised if they had a hand in designing the battle portion of Titan Lost and the final fight against Titan himself), especially since there's two obvious call backs to their style of cool over-the-top combat in this battle (specifically, the conclusion of the entire battle features three "snapshots" of the final blow before giving the results, much like how Verses in the Bayonetta series end, and Ifrit basically does a Red Hot Kick -- itself a reference to the Rider Kick -- to finish off Titan Lost during the transition from that phase to the final one. I'd also call the entire last phase a callback to Bayonetta 2, where one of the boss fights has Bayonetta "falling" down a long tower with an angel boss chasing and attacking her during the descent).
