I used to catch Great Trevalle in American Samoa while living and working there during the 1980's. And they were very good eating fish. I'm not sure how much of a difference there is between the Jack's you were catching and those I caught in Samoa.....but they look alot alike. Thanks for the video and for sharing.

Subscribed today. Watched 8 videos. I truly enjoyed your content. Started surf fishing at Johnson's Beach August 1960. Yes im and older fellow but i have saltwater in my DNA. So i come down every chance i can get. Hope to share some beach some day with you. Catching Reel Memories

@@JustinReedFishing I've got a secret Jack Cheval are edible. Secret bleed well soak in salt water and vinegar for 30 minutes. Dip in milk before Southern frying. Portion of meat from above gill plate to just above nose is snow white and it makes good chowder. Try it some time. Keep "Catching Reel Memories". I really enjoy seeing the family together on the beach.

good video. I agree, reeling against the drag is so wrong! And here is why, if you had been around when folks used mono as a main line and did that, you would have learned very soon, that all reeling against the drag does, is twist your line. Braid is more forgiving; but bad techniques are BAD. proper way to fight a fish is to pull back, then reel down keeping a bend in the rod. Repeat. To continue doing wrong after you have been schooled is just disrespectful to all fishermen.
