The process will take around 80 TWh of electricity every year. There are big question marks if electricity production can increase that much in a decade

Price of solar, wind, and batteries just keep falling (as a trend). Installations nearly double YoY with no sign of slowing

What about the plastics used in the machines that make the steel. Wire insulation, enclosures, machine components, etc., etc.....

Nothing new. Salzgitter AG and Thyssenkrupp are already making fossil free steel in low amounts and plan to do it in big amounts in the coming years.

How is this nothing new? According to their own websites, Salzgitter will be ready to start production in 2025, thyssenkrupp in 2026. Apparently, SSAB beat them to it.

The thing is that the ore is also mined in a co2 free process and transported on trains and electric volvo trucks... this wasn't possible before

@@Kurre. How is that electricity generated for those battery operated equipment. Is it coal fired plants (like what a lot of Europe is reverting to) or nuclear?
@Kurre.
@Kurre. Жыл бұрын
@@MelGibsonFan Sweden uses almost exclusively hydro and nuclear power. Only small cities in the south use oil or coal and since the mines are located far up north they most definitely only use electricity from hydropower. Go watch the entire video they posted on this chanel a week ago and you'll find out more :)

Around 40% of steel is produced from recycled metals and the more we use it the higher this number will be. But anyway, do you want to just stop digging up the iron ore and destroy our civilization haha?
