I don't have 5 billets for the craftable spear, and the event one gives more HP% which is better on characters that actually want it. Also, it's easy to say to "just use favonius" but I only have 1 favonius spear so every single character can't use it at the same time, and swapping it out every single time I switch my teams around is very annoying.

I ain't farming those floating enemies again, they just released a character that asks the same...

I actually don't agree with this take. Yeah, it's true the weapon feels uninspired on it's own, but I like the idea of having a variant of a weapon for both an on-field DPS and an off-field support unit. Even if said DPS can heal, they might still prefer Rightful Reward for it's higher base ATK, while Dialogues is clearly meant for supports.

I use it on Mika and it feels A LOT better than favonius. And you don't need a crit circlet on Mika to trigger fav. He's shorter on field and gets more energy restored and heals more than with fav. I was very positive surprised.

Tbh, while I won't say that the weapon is the best thing, I think people forget that other options are not always available to everyone. Yes, Favonius is often the best choice, but that goes for so many characters that it's hard to give every polearm user a Favonius weapon. Same goes with billets. Not only is getting a billet already quite time consuming (assuming you only do the three weekly bosses and not every which I think is wasting resin, but that's beside the point), but even if you get one, you must win the 20% chance of getting the spear. And then do that 5 times. Yeah, over time, you'll get them, but it's not something you can just plan for. Therefore, I think the weapon is fine. It works well on Chevreuse and Yaoyao and who knows what the future brings. But I don't think it's bad that they basically gave you a free R5 of a craftable weapon. That's a W for a lot of players as they can save their billets for another spear.

I hate swapping weapons around, so I actually love event weapons that imitate existing ones. I have 2 R5 fav lance, but they're already taken so my Chevreuse was kinda weaponless, until this weapon dropped

this is actually a great addition to the polearms because zhongli wants the fav lance, yaoyao wants the black tassel, thoma wants the kitain cross, yunjin wants the prototype starglitter, chevreuse wants the rightful reward. if this weapon isn't available, what can you give mika? and yes, i don't want two characters having the same weapon.

I say this is just making a mountain out of a mole hill. It's not the best weapon sure, but the problems mentioned are all VERY niche at best because these conditions need to be true: - You would assume that the player has an intention to craft the Fontaine craftable for a unit they have AND assume that the player HAS billets to do so - You would assume that the player has the alternative GACHA weapons at a usable state (specifically Fav R3-5) - You would assume that the player only has 1 unit that is using the weapon for it's purpose

I think your analysis of this weapon is almost like complaining for the sake of complaining. First, like @Modie said, "other options are not always available to everyone". Second, why would 4-star weapon is expected to be an upgrade for another 4-star weapon? Like @pvcl4331 said, "it is subjective and optional for whoever needs them". Third, your way of thinking and assumptions are too much lean towards meta and min-maxing for a free 4-star event weapon. Do you think we need another Festering Desire-like 4-star weapon? Fourth, like Uraku Misaguri is undoubtedly "tailor-made" for Chiori, this weapon is "tailor-made" for "healer". It does'nt equal to lackluster or lazy, again, this is free 4-star event weapon. It's never that complex.

Festering Desire has always been the best event weapon imo. And the fact that the weapon has been great and used for a lot of teams and characters, even until now, is saying something.

I haven’t been playing for weeks now and I went back to obtain this weapon for Mika. I do have a fav lance but I also have other characters that also need it. This one both solves my energy issue with Mika and gives him a ton of HP. I’ve really come to appreciate him since I got Furina because he works so well with her and he’s the only healer I have that had been able to get max fanfare stacks and it just fits so well in my rotations. I don’t really use him on physical teams because I don’t have a decent phys character, but I am able to utilize his atk speed bonus. So now, I use him with Wanderer, Furina and Yun Jin. Sometimes, I even swap Wanderer with whoever could be a normal attacker and just have fun with it. Overall, I do think this weapon is great on him and it even looks good on him aesthetically lol.

I pity ToF, they even need to do that formula (collab) so that their game not dying just because their original content can't keep the game alive, just like most of moba game like Mobile Legend, AoV, Free Fire etc

So, what we have here is a weapon with multiple use cases, an event weapon that is actually useful (note that Cinnabar Spindle only has one really strong use case... on one of the weakest, lowest pull value five stars, and is matched by a three star for Chiori, who is only worth getting if you really like playing geos), and one that doesn't require five billets. Overall, it is one of the better event weapons we've gotten. Worth noting that Fav is a bit overrated. Sure, you need it if you are a new player still in your Benny and Xiangling addiction phase, but if you outgrow that, there are plenty of characters and team make-ups that are not that burst reliant. And on the flip side, as far as Yaoyao goes, if you want to talk crafted weapons for her, Kitain Cross Spear exists as well, which can be handy for the EM. Of course, that eats up 5 polearm billets, which means you might not be able to make that Rightful Reward.

0:15 They're not, one is maxed out the other is still at level 80 so it will have at least one more boost in stats. And the wording implies VERY different use cases. The new staff can really *_only_* be utilized by characters that *_can_** heal* whereas the old staff can be used by any polearm user (even in non-healing teams) so long as they _get_ healed. So even environmental heals would allow the old's passive to function. The polearm users that can heal are: Zhongli (c6), Hu Tao (self only), Chevreuse, Mika, and Yao Yao. So for those physically capable of using the new item, it's 5 (at best) vs 14 that "can" use the old weapon; which is a hell of a difference. I don't quite recall but I don't believe that there are any artifact sets that can heal (and even if they could it may not trigger the weapons passive considering the source is not "the wielder" but the artifact effect). Like I get hyperbole but this felt a little disingenuous (just a little though).

I would agree with this being a problem if it wasn't for the pipe (Fontaine fishing weapon) coming out, even though it has the same (worse for damage, better for energy) mechanics as festering desire. Yet, I love having the weapon on my Furina. The main reason why I don't see it too much as an issue is like, why even consider trying to get the rightful reward (to r5 at that) if you already have the event polearm, at that point, it'd be much simpler/easier doing the events instead of getting 5 billets for a very similar effect, which is exactly why I think these "copycat" weapons are a good thing to have in general.

when i say i r5'd and 90'd rightful reward for an even weapon to come out and just be even better (higher hp, and effect just needs the character to perform heal, not even receive it) i literally shouted since i kinda prepared the rightful reward for chevreuse in advance.

As much as I love the design of the polearm this just highlights a problem I have with a lot of the weapons and it's that there aren't really that many good supportive options to give your support characters which results in the Fav weapons really being the only viable support weapons and I'm so tired of running Fav on nearly everyone. Especially Zhongli, he could've gotten an updated signature weapon like Venti did with Elegy that focused more on his supportive capabilities

It was, like, a week since I crafted R5 Rightful reward for my newly built Chevreuse, then this event weapon drops... Well, at least I managed to get my Chevy to 40k hp with it, and Rightful Reward goes to Yaoyao now. Poor thing can finally get rid of that Black Tassel lol

I did think the weapon passives were the same at first. I understand what the video is saying and agree but I'm also glad the weapon is an upgrade for me Chev. I had Lawful but wasn't at my 40k hp goal before weaponing to thus weapon and I'm not a strict when building my supports so the fact that this weapon boosted my hp and made getting energy easier for her was nice

I ended up taking rightful reward off chevreuse and giving it to Mika because he heals teamwide and it triggers the passive better than her. I then gave dialogues to chevreuse so while it's not a game changing weapon it does help chevreuse get her passive easier and was an upgrade to my Mika's healing (he was using a lvl 20 fav lance lol)

Also maybe candace. She doesn't heal but as a buffer she wants high hp for her passive. So this could be a sidegrade to black tassle with slightly less hp but more personal damage. like if you have her c6 or something and she *does* deal some damage. maybe? Altough black tassle of course is a 3* and will probably still be at least on the same level in terms of overall performance. just one extra character i wanted to note. edit: 8:40 she got noticed.

I used it to mica and i think it also made for him as well. And i was able to change one of his artifacts to HP from ER. My mica is good at 158% ER compared to 175 before. 😃

Yeah I can remember it pretty well how everybody was saying Festering Desire is useless.

I know it's a self-inflicted issue, but I hate sharing weapons, and thus have 3 different fav polearms lvled. I don't have 4th for Chevy. Chevy thus gets to be magical girl.

While I agree that the effect looks almost like a copy of rightful reward but better, I would argue that it's better case than Cinnabar Spindle bc there're 2 4* characters who can use it well right when the weapon debut. Cinnabar is only good for Albedo for a long time until Chiori comes out. Even then, both are 5* characters that would be a lot harder to "accidentally" get them if you don't plan to get them. At least you can get Chevreuse or Yaoyao outside of their rate up banners. Also, I think it's better to have good and usable event weapons while having a free weapons with a bit worse effect (the same for Festering and the pipe)​ than having event weapons without alternatives (like oathsworn eye).

Can be easily summed up with this range, all around - niche - "free 4* weapon what?" (festering-cinnabar- everything else.)

Commonly, an event weapon that comes out at the same time as a new character can be decent for said character, even if not exactly meta. Examples are Missive Windspear (Cyno), Oathsworn Eye (Yae), or Fading Twilight (Yelan). Then we got weapons that are not in sync with a new character. Mailed Flower came in between Dehya and Kaveh, and either could use it. Chiori can’t use the event weapon, but could there be an upcoming polearm unit that either is a healer, or has self-healing?…

There will be an upcoming artifact set - 1pc set - that lets the equipping character heal the party so Xiangling will be able to use it

My extremely specific situation where I use this weapon (Dialogue) : Yaoyao in Nilou bloom because I don't have a spare Favonius Lance(and I don't need the team energy) and I didn't craft the Rightful Reward, so it's a free weapon

And here I am using it on Mika thinking it's a great weapon for him. I can have his burst always ready on every rotation with Euala, Raiden, and Kuki.

I got my YaoYao an R5 Dragon‘s bane. She heals enough to get almost all of her teammates to 100% every other rotation, so what I needed her to do was do more damage

Due to the wording "Rightful reward" has more utitlity, since the effect triggers whenever the user is healed the user does not have to be the healer. It could work for Thoma since he has hp scaling and a healer such as barbara could trigger the effect for him.

Hoyo, give us an event weapon that can be personalized, like select base attack, sub stat and effect (from craftable weapons). Like a hp scaling lance with prototype amber's effect

This is such an old player take. A huge portion of genshin players are new or mid game and this is a great weapon for them. They cover most of their player base more than end game and/or old players. This is NOT for those players. This is for the new and mid gamers. Its great addition for them since a lot of them don’t have great weapon selection or money to whale om weapons. You are not getting the point of these weapons and it shows. Same argument can be said for free 4 stars weapon. Its not for end game players. Its for the new or mid gamers. Yall forget that there other demographics out there and it shows. The “me, me,me!” is tiring.

You have to consider newer players that might not have the a favonius sitting around let alone a high refine one.... any newer player who pickedup Chevy or Yaoyao(both of which are extremely good 4 stars evenwithout constellations for a newer player for many teams) will be happy to get a weapon like this for free. Also we have seen enemies become more dangerous and aggressive in floor 12(you really sure you don't want to ult every rotation onYY against copelius?) so more healing/shielding is also going to be nice for even older players with a favonius sitting around.

Never used weapon banner even ONCE and I play almost from start, so these event weapons gives me variety of choice. Plus since I farm almost every weekly boss every week (right now I kill them from newest to oldest and stop when I get a billet) - so I have enough billets to craft every weapon to R5 and have extra for when we will get new region's set. PS. I would gladly take a unique weapon instead of 4star, that I have C6+++ already - hoyo really likes giving only the characters I already maxed, while Sara is still C5 for YEARS....

im kinda surprised. i rarely use event weapons but this time i actually leveled it immediately. support weapons are always nice to have another option. the only complaint i have is that the fontaine spear looks so stupid in comparison now. this should've been the fontaine craftable all along, and then have a diff passive or smth.

So true!!! When I saw the leaks, at first, I was positive about it since it had a high HP stat which could be good for Zhongli and other units I like. But when I analyzed the new polearm, I found out that the only character who really benefits from this weapon is Chevreuse! Moreover, the more constellations you obtain, the more you want to build Chevreuse as a sub-DPS. And if you build her as a sub-dps, you care about her attack, and Rightful Reward has a higher base attack, and I'm not sure if her attack buff from her passive gives the team more than her own damage, so Rightful Reward might actually be better at high constellations if you build her as a sub-dps. The difference between Rightful Reward and the new polearm is tiny for Mika and Yaoyao (and they'd like to use Fav instead), so there's absolutely no reason to level up the new polearm if you've already leveled up Rightful Reward. C6 Zhongli doesn't count😂, and even then it's not insane. I wasn't sure if the passive worked on Hu Tao, but it actually works. Despite that, the difference once again is not that huge. It's no more than two HP substats since Rightful Reward has a higher base attack which matters for Hu Tao (probably less than HP, but in the end, she's an attack scaler who converts HP into attack), so even if it's better, the damage increase is extremely small, so I wouldn't recommend leveling it up if you've built Rightful Reward already. And yes, Missive Windspear is better on Hu Tao. Even if for some reason you don't want to use Fav on Zhongli or Thoma, Black Tassel gives more HP. And if you're building hybrid Zhongli or hybrid Thoma (shield + some damage), you should better be using Rightful Reward because it has a higher base attack. To sum up, I'm very disappointed because I kinda like the design of the weapon, but it's not worth leveling since I always use Fav on all of the characters who might possibly want to use it except Chevreuse (I haven't built her yet) and Hu Tao (I don't have her on my account). And since I don't want to waste a lot of resources, I'm probably never gonna use it which is sad... They could've at least given us a free-to-play weapon for Arlecchino, but (leaks) she's not an HP scaler... I hope the next free weapon will be better because this one was really underwhelming... Btw it haven't fully powercrept Rightful Reward because you can use Rightful Reward on characters who cannot heal if you have a healer on the team. For example, if you used the Zhongli, Furina, Neuvillette, Jean team, you could use Rightful Reward on Zhongli, and the passive would work, but the passive of the event polearm wouldn't because it wants the wielder to heal. So if Hoyoverse release polearm damage dealers who cannot heal and whose burst would utilize HP (like Thoma but with dual scaling (HP% + ATK%) high burst damage), Rightful Reward could be better than Fav and the new polearm if you used a healer on the team. It would be more important for the character to build Crit and other damage stats instead of ER, but it would be very important to burst every rotation, so Rightful Reward would actually give them the energy they would need, and Attack and HP to deal more damage. But it's very unlikely that Hoyoverse will release those characters, so it's probably copium.

I would say, other than the stats differences, being healed or healing makes quite the difference, the craftable one is overall good, either for HP scaling dps / utility / healer, while the free one is only good for Chevreuse and Mika, and that's bad. However, Dialogues is more visually appealing, I love using a big ol' scepter, just wished we had a magical girl / spear Barbara to use it.

The only hope for this free event polearm to be good is if that synergizes well with sigewinne only if one, she is a polearm user and two, sigewinne's kit and playstyle synergizes well with this free event weapon.

I think this event 4 star is pretty good. Often times, Fav is on Xiangling, Yaoyao, Yunjin, Thoma, or Zhongli, so this weapon is an actually good substitute for likes of Chevreuse, Yaoyao, or MIka, even Zhongli in Navia plunge. Fav isn't too important when Chevreuse is on an artifact set outisde of Noblesse, and in my case, she is on Song of Days Past. My Rightful Reward is at R3 and it feels clunky to play having to wait around for Chevreuse to heal for it to activate. The event weapon is better for healers than for those getting healed while the Rightful Reward ends up feeling more seamless for teamwide healers like Yaoyao or Mika. It's only slightly worse than Black Tassel but has a more useful passive which you obtain at R5 for free. At the end of the day, Fav is the most commonly used weapon and not everyone wants to be crit farming or give up useful stats to equip a crit circlet for procc consistency so this new weapon in the arsenal sticks around on a few so you save time from having to swap weapons back to a designated character.

It has a few uses but also does something that others can do as well. I just hate how they keep making weapons for no one or make weapons that overlap eachother. They couldved made the Fontaine craftable hp% and it wouldved shook up the classic formula. There’s like 2hp% swords. How about we get some of those for an event? Sumeru looking weapon. Hp stat. Candace is from sumeru and scales off hp. But doesn’t synergies for her. We went from good niche weapons to weapons that is so universal that it’s not really applicable to anyone because there’s better. Othasworn eye. Looks like it’s for kokomi, made during yae, realiscally really good for Mona.

I would say just obtain the weapon, that way if a future character you like can make perfect use of it, then you level it up and you're set.

It works amazing with yaoyao, since she can trigger the passive twice per elemental skill. Her radish has continuous healing that exceeds 10s marks. So that's 32 energy per E. 😂

I don’t have Rightful reward and need a weapon for my Yao Yao anyway so it worked out for me but I haven’t really built my Yao Yao that high yet so 🤷‍♂️

This is an interesting take that if imma be honest I feel the people that will really only care about this/be effected are people who are really deep into meta, which as you’ve said most won’t use anyways. For me, as someone who didn’t know about that Fontaine polearm I loved and still love dialogues bec it actually made my yaoyao feel more viable. But I also get wat u mean about weapons being recycled it’s an interesting dilemma that I’m curious how hoyoverse will handle as debate continues.

Well… Dialogues: is for characters that do Healing Rightful Reward: is for characters getting healed. Chevreuse doesn’t normally heal herself in rotations So equip Dialogues to Her + have another spear user on the team with Rightful Reward to receive the healing.

I’m glad it’s an alternative to the craftable. People won’t feel as bad for missing but it’s nice to have. All event weapons should be like this going forward imo.

My first impulse was giving that weapon to Mika, but I see your point. It's better if the energy is produced in form of particles by Favonius Lance, so it can go to Eula instead of going directly the Mika's burst.

I missed it unfortunately, did stop playing 3.7 and come back 4 weeks ago. I would have given this to my Thoma full HP Instructors build. Rocking Black Tassel and 205ER is a close call sometimes with burst. Damn. And rightful reward has very low 2nd stat HP% only 27% I think.

Probably the Pyro Archon is a HP% Polearm that sometimes heals.

IMO the best user of this weapon is Yao Yao. Here are my reasons: Chevreuse: if you build hp, you dont need her burst, bust use black tassel which provides higher hp Mika: with eula he is better with fav, if you are using him out eulas comps, then this is his best weapon Yao Yao: she cant trigger fav with her skill unless you wait for her bunny to hit AND crit, in aggravate teams yao yao doesnt need her burst every rotation, but there are enemies that deals so much damage, and this weapons makes yaoyao comfortable on those situations. If you use her witj furina, nilou, thoma or a burn team, she needs her burst every rotation, and can be played as a f2p baizhu So my suggestion for everyone: there are only 2 dendro healers in the game, if you dont have/dont like baizhu, build this weapon on YaoYao, with this weapon she can be used on any team that baizhu could be in

This event weapon is better than rightful reward. Only person that would use RR are yaoyao and chevreuse anyway, and the event weapon passive works better for them with more HP. There is no roasting needed here, it's a better weapon although similar but it was free

The only bright side to this weapon is for people like me who almost never craft the F2P weapons. Very rarely will I craft any and they have to be exceptional to warrant it. Like Sapwood on Bennett being his BiS for F2P. Or Iron Sting for Kazuha. Other then that, though...nah. At least since I got a Chevy on the weapon banner I can put this on her and not feel bad about it. My Yaoyao is a burst dps anyway.
