Since Getting Over It with Bennet Foddy the trend of rage games has become hugely popular across KZfaq, and today is no different. The latest in a slate of games that make you want to rip your hair out and cry yourself to sleep is called A Difficult Climbing Game. A game in which you are climbing... difficultly. After seeing what it did to Markiplier I'm a bit concerned about taking it on... let's just hope I can keep RagePat at bay!

The funny thing about saying "he needs to stretch his arms" is that his arms are actually SUPER stretched. During my lessons, there was a lot of emphasis on pedestrian crossing and how you can tell someone wants to cross the street. Because, obviously, you have to stop for those pedestrians. But having my driving license, I now see plenty of people not looking at possible crossing pedestrians. My dad even once said "I'll stop when they have one foot on the crosswalk", which is far to late to react to the pedestrian! In hindsight, perhaps previous generations have been taught different. Thankfully, most crossing pedestrians make sure that cars slow down before they start crossing.

21:15 so i took a driver's ed class in my high school, no actual driving but learning the rules, that class made me understand that i DO NOT have the capacity to be a safe driver. As a human with mental disorders forced into a life of neurotypical lifestyles, my time thinking about what the right and moral decisions would potentially hurt or k1ll someone. Iv accepted that as a reality. That if i drive i risk hurting someone because i cannot focus on a task or do it properly, so i always strive to find alternatives and find help. Listen yall, not everyone needs to learn to drive, its okay if you dont, you do make your life a little more complicated but if it between me getting distracted by a squirrel and hitting a pedestrian and having to rely on people who are competent at driving to make time for me, imma choose waiting. I feel like too many people dont know how to drive, drive and hurt other people. its sad. a lot of accidents can be avoided by, not taking meds that make you drowsy, not driving intoxicated, and not driving if you dont feel like you can safely. Remember, its okay to not be able to do something. As long as you try. ( i did try actual driving and it wasnt for me.) Just be prepared to have to compensate for that by seeking alternative options

Wow this really hits home because I have been putting off learning how to drive for years because I was in a city that had really good public transportation but recently I had to move back with my parents and here you pretty much need to drive for everything and I miss my freedom but when I started to think about it I was really scared because having ADHD I feel like I could potentially mess up so much and that could be fatal and people don't really understand because they say that after a while you don't even have to think about it, but I do. I'm actually incapable of doing any task without thinking about each step. So seeing your comment really made me feel seen and understood so thank you ❤

@darkdest6664 its concerning how this is an EXACT parallel to how I feel, I wish there was a way to nullify my care for others in this regard because I feel like I care TOO MUCH about people (pedestrians, other drivers) to put them through my driving and potentially endanger them. Realistically nothing would ever happen, but the chance that making a simple mistake can cost lives sends a shiver down my spine that I dont find worth accepting just to have the ability to drive
@ZaphiraX
@ZaphiraX Ай бұрын
When I started learning driving, I was really nervous. It's a big machine that can cause a lot of damage, even to other cars. The first lesson I immediatly had to get on the highway, which I thought was incredibly dangerous. Eventually I got over that. And now I have my driving license for more than 5 years. When I get into my car now I have no fear, because I have build up the confidence that I know what to do in all situations. That being said, I also have friends who do not have a driving license because of their disabillties. While I feel sad that they don't have the "freedom" that I have, I've never judged them for it. They don't miss it, and I have no problem driving them around if they need it
@RaeHadzega
@RaeHadzega Ай бұрын
Everyone who gets behind the wheel of a vehicle is risking their very life and limb, as well as that of everyone in their path. That is true for literally everyone, even the most 'neurotypical' human on the planet. Accepting that responsibility is a core part of the process of learning to drive. If that's not for you, then that's fine -- but don't think that 'normal' people don't face that same risk every time they drive. There is NO amount of ability or experience that will eliminate it.

My driving instruction was similar to yours. Me as a young female, in a car with a much older man, for at least 3 hours over the span of several days. I brought him to get food, I brought him to grocery stores, and we even drove to his house at one point, all the while I’m just sitting in this car for like 30+ mins alone. I’m now 32 and I would’ve been 15-16 at the time. Also on a separate note, Mr. Salt and Mrs. Pepper now have 4 children: Paprika, Cinnamon, and twins Sage and Ginger. Feel old yet? 😅

I think I'm a good and compassionate person but omg I LOVE watching Mark and Matt fail and rage xD It's similar to, but not the same as schadenfreude. To see somebody else fail repeatedly and rage about it who's also forced to laugh it up and push through for the content... is cathartic! :D I truly appreciate your sacrifice and I do feel some second hand pain.... but I could also watch this all day everyday, it's addictive lol

As someone who got my driver's license in 2019 in Medina Ohio I can in fact confirm the driving portion of learning is still the same. The only time someone else was in the car was when we were picking up the next student or bringing the last student home. Though I was somewhat lucky that I kinda knew who my instructor was. I didn't really remember him but he owned a farm my family worked with a lot in the past. I remember being terrified that I wouldn't know my instructor.

I'm kinda curious . . . Do you not have driving schools in America? I live in the Netherlands, and here we have driving schools. And you need special permits to be allowed to give lessons in the first place. I didn't know my driving teacher, but I never feared for my life even though we were alone in a car for 1,5 hours (around 30 to 40 times). And here we also have the system of one student picking up the next student, and the next student dropping the first one off at home (or any other desired destination).

I'm currently recovering from a tib/fib fracture I got a week and a half ago from rock climbing. I tried the boulder wall the first time after always rock climbing with a harness & rope. Hearing about your rock climbing hobby has made me a little worried for you just because that is fresh in my mind! I hope you guys take the effort to be safe! I jumped off the wall from about 4-5ft up and even though the ground was padded, landing entirely on one leg broke both the bones in my left leg! Love hearing from you Mat Pat & hope you'll keep playing this game! XD

22:50 for me it was my drivers Ed teacher, so I kinda did know him, through all the lessons before I got in that car. And no I didn’t have to do anything wierd for him we literally drove in a large loop back to the place we started. Plus you were allowed to have a parent in the car if you wanted them to watch you drive for the first time.

30:14 helpful salt&pepper shaker knowledge for Ash!! Pepper shakers and Salt shakers have a different number of holes on their lids! Although, that's legitimately the only difference between the two. The salt shakers would have four or five holes since salt has the tendency to clump up together and cause pouring/shaking problems due to the granule size. The pepper shakers would only have two-three, since pepper is about the equivalent to powder or dust and would have an easier time being poured/shaken from the little cap! (At least I think so? I'd assume so due to the different physical qualities of the two, and you'll always see that number difference whenever you look at a set of shakers so there's definitely some kind of reasoning behind that, but I might've accidentally gotten it backwards since I didn't double-check what I remembered, and shaker sets have existed for quite awhile so the number might even relate to the time-period's stance on food seasoning. I guess take my words with a grain of salt-)

Been a month since your final theory, but just wanted to make a comment and say I dedicated my high school final essay to you, Matpat. I got to nerd out about ARGs and their LOREEE in a 5 paragraph, 9 page essay. I wanted to show how much you and what you’ve taught me matters, and I think it turned out perfect. I wrote (a lot), I cited (A LOT), (I even got to use a game theory as a source!), but most importantly, I learned. I learned more than I could have ever imagined. And I think that’s what you would want from me. But hey, that’s just a theory! (however, as an avid GT-not-live fan for years, I’m still watching you a bunch on here :))

22:57 I had a similar experience with a driving teacher essentially. It was legitimately some random older guy the program sent to my house (granted, the car was marked for the student-driving program), giving me just about the same kind of instruction that my mom had been tbh. He had me drive around and then to a gas station, he bought himself some candy, didn't offer me any or ask if I even wanted anything, and then we drove back to my house and he was like "good job!" And left 😂😅 never took lessons from someone other than family ever again, and I ultimately passed the driver's test after three attempts anyway

I can imagine several difficulties to this game. One would be where rocks and bushes and things can crumble away, especially if you stay there for a long time, so the path might be slightly different if you fall and have to make it back up again. Another would be where you have a stamina bar, although that would suggest you need rest-points of some sort to 'recover' your stamina. One more would be where you have to make it to certain checkpoints within a certain time-limit. The final difficulty would be all these, but 3D a-la 'Fez'.

There was a free drivers ed set up through the school system, and so the in-car portion started and ended at the high school after school ended for the day. We also had 2-3 kids in the car taking turns per lesson and never stopped off anywhere (probably because there wasn't time to). The exception to this is that one time a student had some kind of appointment that started before the end of the lesson, so they drove first and ended their turn at where they needed to be dropped off. My spouse was in a different school in the same school system, but there was a specific drivers ed course with multiple cars and radios for the instructor to give instructions over at that school. Apparently my spouse was told over the radio "slow down Mario Andretti".

I want a version of this game with a cat climbing instead of some random guy in a loincloth. The climbing and sliding reminds me of a cat holding on for dear life by its claws. Its a chill puzzle game about learning new languages based off of written letters and context clues. its super cool and i think someone like matpat would be good ad deducing the meaning of words from their use and context/ how they actually follow common practices in languages today (like languages have suffixes or prefixes that change the meaning of a word in a certain way.)

21:13, mine was me and an instructor, but it was a an optional course that was done through the school, and so the instructors are all teachers who went through extensive background checks just for the teacher job so that way they don’t have to give new background tests to random people. Thought if I wanted to I could just go up to the dmv and just do my drivers test immediately after my six months, but my parents thought it would be better if they didn’t teach me to drive because they would get too nervous since I am their son.

My driving lesson experience didn't have partners, but we didn't drive to the middle of nowhere cause I grew up next to the capital city of my state, so we had to drive downtown in the capital city (which basically only consists of one way streets but sometimes has a 2-way randomly so you have to be very very careful about where you turn) and on the freeway, which was absolutely terrifying Edit: just remembered, since I live in a state with snow, part of our driving lessons is driving during the winter, and my instructor took me to an empty parking lot to do donuts with the car to teach me how it feels to have the car go out of control and slide around so that I could get used to getting back in control
