First of all, thank you Ash for being brave enough to share deep Ash lore with us. But at the same time, I feel like they very much underestimate just how pervasive fandom AMVs were and kinda still are. As SOON as they said Windows Movie Maker I knew exactly where it was going. As a show of respect and support, I will bare my own lore and say that my fandom to do that with at the time was Marceline and Princess Bubblegum/Marshall Lee and Prince Gumball. I'm not going to make anyone do the same, but comment below if you did the same too and what the fandom was!

Not sure if anyone has mentioned this artist yet but TheFatRat has this intriguing world that is featured in most of his songs, this world being called the 'Arcadium'. Each song's video has this beautiful animated picture and the majority feature this recurring girl as the main focus, however you never got to know much about the girl and her face is always obstructed (apart from that time when he partnered with an nft company to produce some collectable cards that featured stuff to do with the Arcadium and one rare one unveiled her face for the first time.) As far as I know most of his songs are from the same universe but there are 2 main albums that have an overarching story; 'Parallax' has an 8-bit style to it with a complete story from start to finish; and this new album (which isn't complete yet) is in a playlist on his channel with the title 'The Story' which follows the story of this young girl and boy. I absolutely love his music and the art used in the videos, and as a bonus his music is entirely copyright free so can be used anywhere (in the description of each of his videos he tells you how to prevent any invalid copyright claims when using his music so that you can monetize your video without any revenue loss.) :D

A band with a ton of lore is the band Gorillaz. Every album involves new lore with the band members. Heck, it’s in the same universe as the Powerpuff Girls as one of the PPG’s villains join the band in one album.

BTS and EXO have loreylines (lore storylines {idk i just made that up})! some groups like NMIXX and TWICE have some lore throughout a few songs, but im not sure if its consistent! i def reccommend looking into these!~

Why I think Taylor has that underdog vibe is because she is constantly writing things from a relatable standpoint. Falling in love, getting heartbroken, not over an ex, an ex not over you, ect ect ect. Very rarely does she sing about things like wealth or how popular she is or other unrelatable topics. So when she does get into some thing with a celebrity or company, she's the defacto relatable one. For most of us, if we were in that situation we'd be the underdog. So she feels like the underdog

the term juxtaposition was in my mind for much of this episode with Matpat's game reactions and Ash's discussions. fantastic that it came up again at the end. also when he had that fall at the end, i went back immediately to try see how many of the five stages showed on his face in those few seconds, then finished the episode just for them to also discuss the five stages. i have never specifically listened to Taylor Swift, and had no idea about most of what was talked about. it was all really interesting to hear, and makes me more interested in listening to her music. a part of me wishes this video was split in two so we could have full focus from both of them on that discussion, could easily just listen to that for a couple hours.

Twenty One Pilots immediately came to mind so I'm glad Ash mentioned them but also Melanie Martinez is an artist that has done that with pretty much all of her original songs. Most of her albums have a background story to go along with the general theme of the songs but her newest one is more direct with its approach and tells a new story.
