You have to put it into neutral for it to go into 4Low. It wont go in when its in drive.

I have a 4Runner when I change mine I plan on using Amsoil severe gear oil. If you research this not even Toyota dealers use the 75W when they service the transfer case. Most use 75w/90. I’ve read enough to feel comfortable that I won’t need to make this mix.

Oh yeah very small difference between mixing it and not just allows it to be a little bit thinner possibly shift in and out better when it's colder but you'd have to do a cold flow analysis to really see. You should take a sample of the mix to have a VOA analysis, I know the Toyota fluid has a bunch of phosphorus, magnesium and zinc in it

😃, it's the first time I tryed it and I'm happy with it. I think it would run great even if we did 7590 severe gear or the synchromesh I think they both would be just fine but I think that's a great meat in the middle of viscosity

The Car Care Nut has talked about this stuff before. Say’s nobody uses the OEM fluid due to cost. You’ll find most dealerships are selling BG, MOC, WYNN’S, etc. Sometimes they have really expensive products, sometimes they’re not as expensive as OEM.

It wasn't in 4low. When its flashing like that it means its trying to go in. U have to have it in neutral for it to go into 4lo

Gl4 or GL5 is suitable if you don't want to live on the edge like these two.. Even Stevens doesn't recommend😂.. I've also heard of people mixing fluids and having great results..

YIKES! When shifting to 4 LOW you have to be in NEUTRAL and wait until the low STOPS flashing.

I use the Synchromesh Transmission Fluid in my 2021 Civic Type R and 2011 Civic Si love the improved lubricant and smoothness of transmission.

I don’t have the brass b___s to do something like that unless I had researched the heck out of both fluids beforehand. I assume that was already done to make the owner comfortable with doing this.

Instead of mixing 2 different fluids. Just put in 1.5 Litres of Amsoil 75W-90 Differential Fluid ? Toyota OEM fluid is too expensive.

Great question personally if it was my car I would change the rear diff fluid about every 40,000 miles the way I drive here in Vegas if you're doing all highway driving you can go quite a bit longer probably $60,000 if you're doing intermittent track days I would definitely change it way sooner ultimately it's a feel thing and you're always better off doing it sooner than later I'm getting ready to do it on my car here and it's going to be about 40,000 miles

Also it can time out so if you have lubricant it's old it can oxidize and Miata additive packages can break down so I would definitely change it if it hasn't been changed after 6 years even though it has low mileage I would still change it because it oxidizes as it gets older and reacts to the air and different metals that the lubricant touches in materials that mix with it Even though you think that a differential is sealed is not it has a breather valve on it and air oxidizes it and it loses its film strength over time

I think the vehicle needs to be in neutral to go from 4HI to 4LO. Not sure it ever went to 4LO in the video.
