This Tina S reaction is genuinely my first time ever seeing them play as well as my first time seeing this particular performance of her Moonlight Sonata cover. Incredibly impressive. So many notes, so little time... even with 6 minutes. Unreal ability.

When I do my reaction videos I don't press pause because I don't want to interrupt the natural flow of the music as it was originally intended by the artist. I try to vocalise my thoughts in real time as I listen to the song, and then summarise my reaction afterwards.
Please do recommend songs or other artists for me to checkout in future by commenting on this video! I'm constantly on the lookout for great new music and things I've never heard before.

Welcome to the world of Tina S. She studied classical guitar from ages of 6-13 when she switched to electric. From the ages of 14-17 she releases covers of some of the most difficult guitar solos/pieces ending with this masterpiece, then disappears. I've been supporting this young woman since she and her teacher (Renaud Louis-Servais) first released her cover of Eruption. Her high speed technical covers are great but my favorites are ones that require feel/emotion like For the Love of God, Altitudes, and The Loner. All fantastic and she adds her own style so they're not straight covers. Since you've been reacting to my favorite band (The Warning) and now Tina I decided to subscribe.

I had the chance to teach her the electric guitar from the age of 13 to 18, and I also filmed and produced all these videos at that time in my studio. I must say that she never disappointed me, what a prodigy she was... a small precision concerning this version, it is an arrangement made by the incredible Italian guitarist, Michele "Dr Viossy" Vioni, who was kind enough to let us use his version." One of the most complicated songs for a piano, but played on a guitar. INSANE! You can see her holding the pic with 2 fingers and plucking with the other 2. She basically used all 10 fingers the whole time. I've never seen anything like this.

It isn't actually that difficult on piano. On guitar, like this? Yes. The piano is made for this. If you can play this decently on piano you are a medium level player. I know it's impressive, but it isn't actually difficult. There is a very big difference.

Mine too, although her cover of dragon force through the fire and flames when she was a few years younger is also really cool, because she was playing it to a guitar hero track while being totally chilled, and did an awesome solo part after minute 4 in that song. Obviously, this is absolutely mindboggling and belief-defying that a human being can achieve this level of physical dexterity, let alone a technical dexterity in the form of technique on ANY musical instrument. What remains unknown is the long-term effect of this level of strain on the physique of a musician who achieves and continues to build up ever higher levels of virtuosity on his/her instrument. Largely, this topic is terra incognita, because this is a relatively new phenomenon in the realm of musical performance, fuelled chiefly by the competitive pressure that the KZfaq has fostered and made it a worldwide phenomenon. So many young musicians are fired up and challenged by what they see on KZfaq, and the pressure to match - and then hopefully to surpass the skills and dexterity of those that impress them originally... One wonders what - if any - health problems this relentless drive to be faster and more perfect may produce over an extended period of such competition...

"That's a lot of notes." Yeah, that's one of the things about pieces originally written for piano: they can have lots of notes all at once. Covering them on another instrument can be... challenging. This would not be an easy piece to play on guitar. I recently discovered that there are metal guitar covers of BWV 1080; I haven't gone and watched them yet -- I'm a little afraid to, in case they don't do a good job with my favorite piece of music. But I won't be able to resist for long.

that‘s because this sonata especially the 3rd movement was written this way, to be played rather frantic, not much room (or time) for ‚soul‘ or artsy choices, other guitar players that have attempted this have played it rather identical.
