Something I'd love to see a dentist react to is Raina Telgemier's graphic novel memoir "Smile." She knocked out her two front adult teeth when she was a kid, and when they were put back in the bone didn't heal correctly and they sat up too high -- so she looked "like a vampire." Cue a many, MANY, years long saga of dental drama involving braces, fake teeth, and (at one particularly low point) headgear -- all to get her to a normal looking smile. And along the way enduring the typical dramas of middle school and high school.

I think you need to add wires to your bracket to get it to break, as its the pressure on the wire that pulls them away from the tooth most of the time, its far harder to push on its own as there's hardly any surface to push against.

Hi Bentist!! So I am getting braces soon and am kinda scared, my best friend has braces and she is always says it hurts after getting them adjusted. 😁

I used to have a tooth under my tongue which was eventually pulled out when I was in 6th grade, which was about 8 years ago, I still have the tooth even. The tooth never did hurt because it was angled in a way to where it didn't, however, after it was pulled out, I noticed that I bit my tongue less frequently, it was really strange having the thing, I even told my other 6 grade peers at the time I had a tooth under my tongue and even showed them, they looked somewhat horrified, disgusted, but they never really bullied me for it. The tooth when it was pulled out was pretty big, about 2.5x the size of an average front tooth, it kind of looks like a strange mini tooth dagger.

I was actually in a good mood after my surgery and I didn't realize how high I was. I asked the dentist if I could keep my wisdom tooth and she put it in a plastic baggie lol then on the car ride home I was trying to make travel plans because we had a trip coming up and my sisters were like "NO! No travel plans!" Then they helped me to my bed at home and I wasn't letting them help me and I was asking for a book and my little sister told me I was "reading" the book while holding it upside-down and falling asleep. 🙃 good times. I have to go back and remove the other two so I'm looking forward to it.

Reminds me of when I got all four of my wisdom teeth taken out. I looked at my dentist afterwards like is that all you got? lol!

0:30 i did. i have braces rn, since early november, a lot of adjustments that happened with my teeth i didn’t notice until a couple months ago, it’s honestly kinda crazy! 😆

All of my pre molars were removed when I was lke 10-11 when I got braces. There was a lot of overcrowding and a bad over bite. I couldn't close my mouth when I was young. It confused the dentists at first. I had head gear and braces twice. Front bottom teeth are still a little crooked. I lost my retainer and never went back to the orthodontist. I would like to fix them eventually.

I worked with woman that she worried about literally everything she could to the point where she wasn't comfortable unless you had something to stress out about it she was always grinding her teeth I felt pretty bad for her I mean Thursday she didn't have anything to worry about so she'd go ask the manager questions about stuff until she had something to worry about and one day she got a compliment from corporate and it meant nothing to her
