Violet didn’t make it, Jenny froze just like V and Screech was just like his father. This is such a brilliant view of generational domestic violence. This man is so engaging .

thats the history repeating itself over and over again! Not just repeating itself for Violet choosing to be with a man like her father but her daughter repeated her defense mechanism of staying quiet and frozen which got them all in trouble she needed a new strategy on defence .... And Screetch was just like his Father! You gotta break the cycle somehow before its too late! So wicked ! Next level Genius Mr Ren!!!!

Never noticed it until this listen, but when speaking of Violets abuse he uses the line "the devil comes to dance" and in Jenny's tale that the devil was after Screech's soul, but the the devil's in his chest as he kills Jenny. Like an onion this song is.

Violet's tale happened in 2005 (two zero zero five) and Jenny and Screech's tale happened in 2019, 14 years later. Twins separated at birth and then Screech ends up killing his twin without knowing she existed. Jenny inherited her mother's silence and Screech inherited his father's violence. Another interesting part is when he knocks on his friend Patrick's door and he wasn't there and then calls his girlfriend who said she was busy was because they were actually together behind his back. He's such an amazing storyteller. He calls his musical genre "Bardcore" which is perfect...

I know this is an older reaction video so you guys may not see this but this was by far the best reaction I’ve seen to this story. A lot of people I’ve watched react to this got lost in the musical talent (not that anyone could blame them) and completely missed the plot. You guys did so great in being able to take in both, kinda made me feel like I heard the song for the first time again so thank you!! This is such a powerful take on generational violence.

Ren pulls a couple of tricks on the listener near the end of Violet's Tale, firstly the lyric "please let my baby stay alive" can easily be "babies stay alive" & then he implants Screech's name in your head with the preceding lyric "it happened on these very streets". Genius.
@kellyt5341
@kellyt5341 20 күн бұрын
Wow....yes...I never thought about planting Screeches name in your head. Because James would not of made as big of an impact because his nickname was used. Also the US uses generic names for people they can't identify "John and Jane Doe". The UK uses James and Jenny as their genetic names for nameless orphans. At least in the past they did.

I love the way he uses different composition methods depending on the character, jenny's music was was tense and quick, Screeches music was defined by the way he attacked each and every note, but violets was a combination of the 2 , coupled with clever use of sound echos to heighten the experience - Pure genius composition, visually were were subjected to the most engrossing atmospherics, His direct stare into the camera engages you, pulls you in and you cannot help but be transposed into the scene where you are immersed in fear, anger and sadness. this man is a Pure modern Shakespearean Bard, at once grim but you are unable to stop looking. thank you for an excellent reaction.

I discovered him a week or 2 before “Sick Boi” dropped and I’ve been getting to know his music. Talk about talented, he can do it all! I love his storytelling and I agree, feels like watching a play on stage. From what I understand, a lot of his music is done in 1 take, and live! That is unbelievable! He makes his own beats, plays the instruments, mixes, produces - truly an independent artist, and I have big respect for that! He comments to reactors when they do his songs, he just wants people to share his music. I love his different rapping styles - y’all might enjoy “Power” and “Losing It - Fisher Rap Retake” - I’ve had those on repeat lately! The power of music can be profound, but normally you never get these type of reactions when listening to the regurgitated music that is played on the radio

"I am sure her mother knew." I see two different layers in this line. One, chances are that, at least on some level, her mother did know some of those "things" Violet's father was doing but for various reasons either "pretended" not to see or pushed it away out of her consciousness so she wouldn't have to deal with her own dilemma and/or guilt about it. And, even more critical, from the "big picture" perspective and in keeping with the theme of these tales, there is the strong possibility that Violet's mother went through the same kind of thing when she was a child. That is the nature of these cycles, they are passed along from one generation to the next. A child is born into it, grows up believing this is "just the way it is," ends up in a different version of what is essentially the same tale when they are adults and so on and on.
