Goddammit. Every time a KZfaqr says “don’t forget to subscribe” or whatever, I always ignore it. Because who is that person to dictate how I manage my subscriptions. But the nonchalant “if you’re in the middle of a channel binge right now, you should probably subscribe” is the best argument I’ve ever seen. Yeah, I AM in the middle of a binge. One of my favorite things on KZfaq is when you find a random person who subscribes to the same channels as you and you see their comments on different niches and you become “comment section friends” and get excited when you see them 😆 Similar to driving next to the same person for a long time and then they pass you or something and you see them again a half hour later….although admittedly this may be just a me thing 🤣

I love that too! When I see comments from the same person on a bunch of videos from people/about things I like, I sometimes look at their channel to see if they have any playlists, since there might be videos from people and/or about stuff I like I haven’t seen in them. And if there is a playlist, I usually do find some good videos in them lol

I love this. So many times people have replied to a comment of mine like "hey, I remember you from the GTLive community" or "hey, I saw you watching the DSMP" and I'm like wow it feels nice to be remembered even for something so small. I see it too, though. I completely agree that it's awesome to keep bumping into people in multiple communities. The driving alongside someone analogy is perfect!!!

He was asking all polite when he was "rich" but when he was asking as a "poor" guy he was just being really straight forward instead of prefacing it with a please or anything like that that's probably why nobody was giving him anything.

Also probably helps that people were directly paying for something. The "homeless" guy just generally said he was hungry and wanted money (was also not wearing cheap stuff so that probably made people second guess if he was homeless. Homeless people can and do have nice things sometimes but the general public does not picture a homeless person with a nice watch and well groomed hair and beard. so my guess is they went "oh this crazy. guy is freaking out I gotta get past fast"). I feel like people are probably more comfortable knowing exactly where there money is going

I think it's also a framing effect with the parking meter. If you give Rich Key 5 cents, your contribution solves his problem. Meanwhile with Poor Key, he's asking for much less than he would need to buy food. Without giving them a specific goal or progress towards that goal, the problem feels insurmountable, and it feels easier to do nothing about it.

I once left a pretty long comment on a lyric video (something admittedly kinda cheesy and sappy, along the lines of "if you're reading this, you're beautiful"). Someone else copy and pasted the comment on a different video of the same song and got more likes and responses than my original. That's fine, that part didn't really bother me. What DID get me were the replies I started to get accusing ME of stealing the comment, even though the time stamps were like a few months apart. It was wild lmao

As someone that is growing up in a very homophobic background, with republican divorces parents and going to a religious private school. I have to hear that shit every day and it can be really tough. The reason we say “excuse my french” is because back when france invaded england english and french mixed, the french being higher class citizens used french words for most stuff. For example beef is derived from french, when cow derived from an older form of english. Swears came from french, hence excuse my french.

I usually have KZfaq on while I’m editing or doing the dishes, and if it helps support the creator to have more engagement I’ll pop something quick on. I didn’t consider people might find it annoying to see you comment more than occasionally on other channels.
