Jim! I'm ashamed it took me this long to look up your channel after our time in the swamps, but this year has been like living inside a blender. Excellent video, can't wait to watch more!

Simply magnificent results Jim! That's the type of image we all strive for when returning from a place as grand as Iceland. I think all the "cool" kids have moved over to luminosity masking in Photoshop. But I could never understand it. Working with an HDR from Aurora or Neo is so much easier and intuitive!

Thanks so much Carl, I appreciate it and yeah I was pretty happy when the light started doing its thing here!

Whether or not the cool kids have moved on doesn't matter. What matters is that you're demonstrating a unique approach to image processing that inspires creativity and explains why you choose to use the tools.

Nice presentation! Similar to the Christian Bloch approach of producing a well-balanced but flattish HDR image and then going into photoshop.

it would be interesting to see a "single image HDR" of first or second image and the result and also the same of .jpg taken in camera. Also a 3 image HDR or .jpg. A couple possible tutorials for another trip to Iceland. As usual,, all JN tutorials or almost all are saved.

Thank you for the video, Jim. I like HDR as well and I probably over do it compared to others but to each their own. Just wondering if you could have erased those people on the pathway using Luminar Neo?
@JimNix
@JimNix 8 ай бұрын
Yes for sure I could have erased them, but I left them in for scale. I did erase some that were under the waterfall to the right in the image, which was distracting to me. But I liked the distant ones. Thanks.

HDR is good but it seems to put lots of auto false look to it. Lightroom does it better in my experience.

No worries if you like the LR output better. HDR is a great tool regardless of which product you use. Thanks for watching.
