This hedgehog got attacked by a 'shark'!

We see a LOT of different situations here at Wildlife Aid, but this is the first time we've seen a hedgehog attacked by a 'shark!'
This poor spikey creature was walking through a garage before getting tangled in a ball of discarded netting. Not only that, but he seemed to have brought a toy shark along for the ride...
Luckily, he was soon collected and brought into the centre, where out vet team had quite a shock!

I am always in miffed when Simon says at the end of each video “if you like our video……….” What right minded human being couldn’t like these videos? I’m also surprised that Simon wasn’t on KC3’s birthday honours list, does anyone know how to set this in motion?

The junk we leave lying around is so incredibly dangerous to wildlife & domestic animals alike. Thank you for extracting this 🦔 spiky fella from the mess he was caught up in. Glad the 🦈 lived to tell the tale too.

I love hedgehogs they're one of my favourite British animals. I certainly prefer them to squirrels, who can be rather aggressive at times. I've never been mauled by a hedgehog.

I absolutely adore hedgehogs,they are SO cute! I'm so glad that he was OK and not too injured, from either the netting or the shark! and I hope the shark got released later on, too.

Aww, so glad the hedgehog was OK (and the shark as well of course!). I love hedgehogs, such cute little creatures. We have made our garden hedgehog friendly and leave out food and water for them every night. Regular visitors!

love hedgehogs, Did you know they are one of the only animals that eat slugs and are great for the garden for that fact. Great Save not just for the hog but for all the gardens he will service.

I'm happy that the title of the video is merely referring to a quaint coincidence, which had to be brought along for the rescue. 😹 I'd have a hard time wrapping my head around, how such two animals should ever have come in contact and why. Glad to see the little poglet waddle off into the lush green grass, at the end. 🦔

They are so sweet. I've got a huge pregnant one digging under my summer house but she couldn't make a home there as the concrete is in the way 😢so I brought a hedgehog home covered it with leaves and hoping she will move in. It's predator proof the hedgehog home.

Oh, that's great. Will you feed her too? My parents have been feeding hedgehogs during the last few years. Because of the ongoing drought the poor buggers have trouble finding enough for their babies.

@@johannageisel5390 I plan to buy hedgehog food if she chooses to live in my garden I have a pond with small wooden ladder in the pond so any hedgehogs can get out so there's always water. Also want to get a trail garden camera cause I get up at 4am just to watch out of window to see if she in the garden.

@@hannahreynolds7611 well I prefer hedgehogs have hedgehog food there's a load of crap stuff in cat pouches. My pond is clear water which birds drink from I do have cat water bowls all around garden as its been so dry here. I only give my cats 100 percent steamed meats which is too expensive to give to hedgehogs . Cat biscuits contain mostly cereal which is unhealthy for any animals.

I love the fact the UK has hedgehog 🦔 all over, their so cute, but I don’t think my cats would be too happy.

They don't really bother cats (or cats them). Hedgehogs just roll up into a ball when they meet something bigger like a cat, and cats soon learn to leave them alone. Though there are sometimes problems between cats, and foxes and/or badgers. Foxes particularly, and most particularly in the urban environment where so many of our foxes now live as scavengers, very similar to 'trash panders'. Unfortunately, it appears badgers will sometimes kill hedgehogs, the prickles don't seem to detere them, like they do most animals 😔. Hedgehog numbers have dropped though the floor since the 50's,probably due to changes in agricultural practices, and the use of slug pellets in gardens (hedgehogs eat lots of slugs and snails 🐌). I hope slug pellets well be banned.

I had 2 beautiful hedgehogs living in my garden last Yr, ant and dec I called them, one was big than the other, I always made sure to put fresh water an food out every night x

I have a question. Wouldn't fully removing most of the mass first be better (kind of like what he did, but I mean fully detach) then you'd have more room to work and see what's left that's tangled? I noticed it's the same with other tangles as well (fox, deer, ect) although with those, I suppose you wouldn't want to fully cut them free cause they might escape before your done.

Neighbor had a hedgehog, not sure how it made a great indoor pet in a fish tank. like cage. USA unlike roaming free in UK. But he loved his hedge hog. He moved away so I no longer seen him.

The land shark was a frequent guest on Saturday Night Live back in the 70's when the show was funny. Now like everything woke the shark just hurts defenseless creatures.
