All these years of experience and this man just freely gives all these tips and tricks. Love the community you built Scotty. I personally never take my car to mechanics because I'd rather do it myself and make sure it gets done right and I don't get ripped off. You're the only mechanic that I'd trust to work on my car though that's for sure! I hope when I'm your age one day that I will have the knowledge and energy to teach others like you do. I look forward to the 2-3 videos of great content I get a day from ya. Hope life is and stays well for you for a long time :)

I think mechanics I've met by word of mouth are generally honest, but sometimes they drop the ball (or the parts!). Now I just do everything myself except state inspections. What Scotty does is outstanding, esp. this video. My engine is a year newer so that'll be the next time bomb to go on that K engine.

Love the videos Scotty and I don't even work on cars! Hey wanted to pass along that some of the 2008 Honda Accords also had an oil consumption problem. Happened to my son's car it kept eating oil and making a metal on metal sound even when the oil was good. Took it to the dealer and they acted like they didn't know what was up. But when I took it to my local mechanic he found a Honda bulletin on the exact issue and sent me back to the dealer with the bulletin in hand. Dealer ended up doing some engine work all under warranty.

Scotty, I have been thinking my 2004 Accord was burning oil but I watched your video before doing an oil change. I looked at the VVT solenoid and it definitely has been leaking for a while. 223,000 miles and still runs like new! Btw, a good video for you to do is a starter replacement on this generation I4 Accord motor. It's rather involved.
@blackterminal

@parallaxbill2276

@@blackterminal It's not all that difficult but it does require removing the intake runners and most everything that covers up access to the wiring and starter attachment bolts. I no longer have my car to refresh my memory for more details.
