If the Honda is your grandma's car here is a little tip (from a long time Honda owner) for you. When you install a new air filter, the retaining clip is curved spring steel and it's quite easy to make it snap into place by pushing the clip in (with your thumb) where it curves. This is much harder to explain than it is to do ;-)

I"ve owned two honda fits an 07 that was hauled from an insurance claim that had 244K miles and was still running and driving, couldn't afford body, and suspension work. My current 08 has 196K. Love these cars. My first one would try and stall while cold the spark plugs, air filter where changed and it did okay till the serp belt snapped and shreaded then the tensioner pully fell off XD Managed to make it work with an inch smaller belt. These cars are awesome, they will get up and go pretty quick with just stock, but they are easy to work, cheap parts, and great gas saver for someone like me who loves to drive, plus fold the back seats down and you can haul just about anything I"ve had everything fridges, deep freezers, wood, hay, animals, people, cargo in my car. you can FIT A LOT IN FIT

I drive the at 300 miles a day, because i work two hours away from home. It's a damn good employment, however the mileage is high at 174,000. I changed the oil between 4,000 to 5,000 miles or every month. It's been a good vehicle, I changed plugs, but need to change the transmission oil next week. At any rate, I have engine light on. I used an Innova 5110 OBO2 carscan reader. It shows a P0420. WHat's your recommendation, I thinking about changing the O2 sensor as recommended. Any recommendation is welcome. Interesting that this is a common issue. I have a Honda Fit (2006 DBA-GD1, L13A engine, 200,000 km/125,000 miles) that runs a little rich, though the STFT and LTFT are about the same (-5% or thereabouts). I think there's one injector that's noisy (tick-tick-tick sound when cold or driving uphill). I've run some PEA injector cleaner through, replaced the air filter and plugs and coils already. I think when I adjust the valve clearances I'll take the injectors in for testing.

Always a good video. Just traded in my 2007 Honda Fit with 243,000 miles, original back brakes still good, front brakes replaced twice with new rotors, and one coil, all four plugs. It ran like clockwork. So I bought a 2020 Honda Fit. In between we bought a 2018 Honda Fit. So far no trouble from any of them. 2020 is the last year, gas prices down, economy cars not popular. But being empty nestors, we both just want a dependable, small easy to park easy maintanance cars. And to be honest, they drive great long distances. I never had any problems with this car.

Now gas prices are double, hope you still have the fit? We have one, was going to sell it, now rethinking that lol

I love the Yugo story Scotty! I had one that I commuted with for 2 hours a day and had it for a decade before the timing belt broke and valves went into the cylinders :( But in WI winters it track like a tank :)

Yup, this is my grandma's car. It just didn't work good when cold. Nothing else was wrong with it, it's a lot better now after the new filter and spark plugs. Still going to put the fuel injector cleaner in. Thanks Scotty

My 2020 Civic has larger gaps, more uneven panels, and rattles than my dads 2010 Civic. Mechanically, though? The K20C2 has been problem free and is a very refined, reliable engine for the 15,000 miles it has been so far driven. Even when the instrument panel said oil change was overdue, the darn engine was still running even better than when it left the showroom lol. Kinda like my 2001 cavalier. Not exactly the best fit and finish, but that 2.2L OHV was great and managed to reach 240,000 miles before I sold it.

Any brand will have this if you don't ever change the plugs. Stop being ignorant.

@@robmalcolm8042 They were changed once at a garage in Pennsylvania. We knew they could use new spark plugs, however I didn't know that old spark plugs could effect the car when it's cold.

On the air box clips you just push in on the spring parts thats bowed outward. It will cause the clip to expand upward and latch around the lid.

In Greece you have to follow the manufacturer's instructions when servicing your car and you have to do in dealership only if you want to keep the manufacturer's warranty. Thus you have to change spark plugs every 40k kms (25k miles) on Fits as per manufacturer's instructions. And this is what most people do.

My daughters 2013 Fit had the check engine(spend money) light and traction control come on at same time at 100,000 miles. Pulled a P0302 code- misfire in #2 cylinder. New Spark plugs require you to remove wipers, windshied trim, wiper motor, and metal pan. Once there, I found three of the four spark plugs loose enough to remove without a wrench. Plugs and coils carboned right up. Apparently this is a known problem. Lucky to catch it when we did🙄
