Hi CC, thank you for your update on Skeletor. I’m fairly new to your channel and am absolutely loving your content. It’s wonderful to watch you with your horses, you’re so knowledgeable. ❤ I live in the uk, am a massive horse lover but can no longer ride due to terminal breast cancer. It was found too late and had already spread to my spine, ribs, femurs and liver. I’ve been fighting though and although I was only given 3-6 months to live in July 2016, I’m still here nearly 8 years later. I’m not very mobile as you can imagine and tend to live my dreams through others on KZfaq. Your way with your beautiful horses and your empathetic soul is very similar to how I was before I got sick. So I want to thank you for making my days brighter by allowing us to follow your amazing life journey and sharing your gorgeous horses with us. You’re an incredible human being. Never let anyone make you feel different. 🙏🏻✨❤️

I’d thought to myself ..This might have inspired me to (do a whole lot better in hs/ Or take some community college & Then see about Vet Tech school/ internship, training whatever). the aim being learning as much as possible. it’s a profession (I saw an article warning about this very thing a few months ago) that just like Veterinarians (!all that school & investment!) in the US currently these are very high burn out rate professions. that there was experience CC had there before investing and going into her horses makes such great sense!! in watching these, seeing what can go wrong (and or how to remedy this!) plus how observant one need be with their animals while that major chore of getting everything done, all chores in a timely fashion is invaluable. these would be super for a school class, just for .. kids who like animals. so many of us don’t live in Montana and that’s a treat to see too!

Ok, I dont do subscriptions or suchlike on here, but I have to admit, that with each new video, and there are a lot of them, I become more interested in what this lady does, how, and the explanations of why. I have 2 horses of my own, Also *rescues*, one had a big hole in her neck the other was nearly killed by the *rescue* I took them too.... SO I bought them back off there straight away. Its been 5 years now, I'd never done anything with horses before and so, everyday is still a school day, and I think Im gonna let this lady be one of my teachers as I do most everything on my own with them. So, if this helps, Raise revenue or whatever on the new, none thrifting budget plan Ill subscribe. Thanks CC for all the info and , if there is a video here on just what your *program* is(very roughly speaking of course) that you run your horses through then could someone point it out to me?

Skeletor is too smart for his own good. He seems to get bored and need something to entertain himself with. He needs one of those baby toys that engage the mind but don't require much movement. You know those things you attach to the crib that has various switches, buttons, colors, etc. It exercises their coordination, and engages the brain while they push and pull levers. Skeletor needs the horse version of that. Those frames of him rubbing his face on the ball to move it are precious. Its so sad that a horse that's so intelligent is in a body that prevents him from having a job for the time being. He does look happier being outside. I'm so glad you're going to do regular updates on Skeletor, and that you show us visually what's going on. The person that sold you that batch of grass hay with thistle was foolish to waste an opportunity to build a good reputation via your vlog......

❣💯Customized food plans for each horse's health are complicated as one size doesn't fit all. Sorry there was so much thistle in the new grass hay that was overpriced at $300 for a truck load. A lot of people's food is contaminated, too; I'm never sure if the "organic" I buy is actually organic, which has anti-oxidant salvestrols. Great intro!

Young smart busy minds like to frolic. He doesn’t understand bucking and loping in his stall is not earning him his turnout back any faster. He likes to work! His face is heart broken when he watches me ride my sister’s horse. Farrier comes this week and we will see how bruised it is internally. First time since the accident. Vet cleared him for light duty but since he doesn’t understand light work we are proceeding with caution. Hopefully both happy boys get back to work soon!

I once had a horse who had quite a bad ligament injury in her hip/back and I was told absolute complete stall rest for the first few months. She was a nutbar like skeletor with a busy mind who always needed to be on the move and she did not cope at all with being locked up in the tiny stable yard and went totally stir crazy. Every time she'd start to feel a bit better she'd literally throw herself around the yard/rear/jump etc and hurt herself again. I also notice she started to wood chew which was really unsual- was obviously super bored. Didn't matter how many toys, slow feeders etc she got. Ended up giving up after a few weeks and built her a temporary yard in the paddock that was slightly larger and could be moved around. At least that way she could pick at the grass (even when it was very short and I could scatter the hay around as well which you can't do on a sand base as safely) and started taking her on long gentle lead walks a few times a week to let her get out of the pen and she stopped the crazy behaviour. Probably took longer to heal that way, but she wouldn't have healed at all trying to keep her on stall rest only so you've gotta do whatever is going to work for the horse you have in the end. Despite a lot of people saying she may never come back to soundness, she ended up eventually being fine with a lot of rehab (took well over a year) and never had any recurrence of problems. Crossing fingers for Skeletor.

Although its been a few years since I bought hay I remember always making sure the hay bales were cut from the middle of the hay fields, rather than the edges where thistles and other harmful weeds grew. Today, with people actually cultivating hay for cattle and other 4 legged farm animals I would think good grass hay would be easier to find! I said all that to say this: I would find another supplier if I were you!

Grass hay is 'normal' hay here in the UK; alfalfa fired my horses and ponies up like nobody's business and too easily tipped the ponies over into laminitis territory. I had a little mule who really thrived on 50/50 grass hay and barley straw, as it had so much more fibre. I never bought a variety-specific hay, just permanent pasture or upland traditional hays, so I would expect to find the odd thistle here and there, as well as nettles and other acceptable pasture 'weeds'; and never minded as (to me) it shows it's not been sprayed and was a genuine permanent pasture hay, not a monoculture grass crop. Some of my animals actually liked the thistles and nettles, and picked them out!

I do too, especially the more mundane tasks of owning and caring for your own horses.

Thank you for another show around of the work that is part of owning horses with the age old problem of buying commodities that are not as advertised. Your channel and the way you present the task of caring for horses does as much for the people who come to watch as for the horses themselves. Well done.

FRANKINCENSE ESSENTIAL OIL , ( for his size about 17 to 23 drops ) in a rub w/ carrier oil , applied once daily for 1 week, may help to regrow the ligaments quicker. No bandage. I did this on myself , ankle area, and doctor's couldn't see where damage was !

Very interesting! I take Boswellia Extract (which is Frankincense - same resin) because it is good for joints and tissue healing. I'm a human massage therapist and I've never heard of using Frankincense oil topically to heal ligaments - just for aromatherapy purposes, so thanks for this info. Of course it was also one of the gifts that the three Maji brought to Jesus after he was born so we know this resin has to be pretty amazing stuff!!!
