How can a fully hydro groupset be any good for this price and will it work properly on my new gravel bike build for my son?

Just installed the L-TWOO Rx 2x12 on my new Bike Build and am amazed by the finish and quality of the groupset. The price/performance is incredibly good in my opinion.

? For the hydraulics: Why don't you fiddle the old cable through the frame from top to bottom, connect it to the brake hose and then pull from bottom to top out of the hole?

Yeh, that could also have been an option but a brake/gear cable is a lot more bendy and less manoeuvrable than the stiff plastic cable guides, so would have required the use of the mounting tool with the magnet. Thankfully, the plastic guide slipped straight down the tube and out of the hole at the bottom. 👌 Thanks for the suggestion though.

3kg of cement to be added then... 😁 I like LTwoo products; I run eR9 and R9 setups and I've never had issues personally. Congrats on a very nice looking build!

Cement appears to be the only way! 😂 How do you find the eR9? Having tested this one out, I’ve been so impressed and so I’m thinking of swapping the 105 groupset on my road bike out for the LTWOO electronic one.

@@petertreadway honestly? It's good, but there is a second generation one that's now in production replacing the slight lottery on the quality front. If you can wait 6 months or so until they're in general circulation, then I'd say it's a no brainer and to go for it. They frequently go on sale around the 320 quid mark, which is just too good to pass up. I'm building a dream build very slowly over time, and the new blue edition eRX is my first choice.

Cheers mate, that’s really useful info. I know Luke from TraceVelo had some issues with his LTWOO electronic FD a while back, so that has been a concern. Maybe I’ll wait a bit for the new one then. Sounds like your build is going to be epic though. 💪🏻

It's going to be a bit of a middle finger at a company that sells the same frame in 'bespoke' off the shelf colours at a 600 quid premium; charging 6 grand for a 400 quid frame... Totally wait for the blue edition. I got lucky with mine, but the grapevine is saying it's night and day (and I'm sorry, the LTwoo app is just better than Shimanos...)

Is the r9 fully hydraulic?

I believe they do two versions, a full hydro set and a mechanical set.

That makes sense. I'm waiting on parts from Aliexpress to finish up a HYGGE Model S build. I have some mechanical r9 shifters I'm going to pair with mechanical ultegra. Hopefully it works. The choice is a bit overwhelming when it comes to group sets these days to be honest. I'm not sure if the proliferation of all these upstarts is a good thing. It used to be if you had a £300 budget you'd go for 105...

@@bigdwagron I agree that there is a huge choice now, Aaron but the problem is that 105 is no longer £300. Some of these budget groupsets offer incredible value for money and the quality, for the most part, is great. Plus, most of them are cross compatible with the big brands too. 👌🏻
