LoveJoy 11 thank you for your kind words, I will let her know. My daughter is 23, had graduated only months before this pandemic hit. She was scared as well as all of the other nurses, many of whom became infected and some had to be put on ventilators, but she went every night. The amount of death was really horrible, there were and still are so many unknowns with this virus. Thankfully the new cases in NJ have slowed down dramatically. I just pray that the states getting hit the hardest now, will see an end soon ❣️

Worked at Dunkin Donuts. Baking at night. I came down with the symptoms of fever (99.8 with 1000 mg of tylenol) Vomiting, harder to breathe and some body shakes. I told my manager and asked the process. I was then told, "as long as you're not licking the donuts we should be good." And to come in . And of course to other employees we'd hear, "you can be replaced." This is all within the last 90 days during 100 % covid-19 time. Putting others at risk is insane, so I had to quit. Like that is morally wrong, the greed is unreal and our manager did not care one bit. So again, me a sick person would be making your food. That is how much corporations care about you. So, all the precautions places say they take. Ya, no. I doubt a lot of them do what they are saying. This is my experience with a , "manager "

@@Carolinagirl1028 You should exercise a healthy level of skepticism when reading studies that have been summarized by the news media. Look at the actual data in the original study and make your own conclusion based on your own understanding. One of the conclusions you posted...(not the actual study data) clearly grouped social distancing with the use of masks according to the author. Regardless of your decision to wear or not wear it's always been a good idea to distance yourself from other people in general. I have decided to not wear however I give people lots of space out of respect to them and to minimize my risks. Stay safe!
@Carolinagirl1028
@Carolinagirl1028 4 жыл бұрын
@@iflex1963 Yes masks do not replace social distancing, they combine with them meaning each of them are better when the other is used as well. I do respect that you keep your distance from others if you don't wear a mask. Thank you for doing that. Unfortunately that is not always the case. While I quoted some articles that I happen to have on hand I have also read in depth the actual research that is behind those studies showing masks are helpful and not harmful. I have several doctors in my family some that are directly involved in research on this virus as well as other viruses and a couple that have worked in the emergency room and Covid19 unit at a hospital in New York city. The stories they have directly related to me is enough for me to take every possible precaution at my disposal. However the problem is everything that I or anyone does isn't enough if we don't all do our part.

Don't you recall the CDC telling us that the only mask that was effective was the m90 mask, and that all other masks were actually worse because they allow a place for the virus to incubate around your mouth and nose? That's what I remember them saying... it's like double speak. 1984 much?

@@miraafloyd because of the death rate isn't high it isn't a risk. Is the common cold a risk? Why not shut down all businesses for that? What about the Flu that kills tens of thousands a year? What about when we had the swine flu outbreak? What about like I said before, when we have an Ebola outbreak? If the death rate isn't exceeding a certain number it isn't a risk to get it as the death rate isn't high enough to warrant fear.
@miraafloyd
@miraafloyd 4 жыл бұрын
DrCranberry first of all, ppl can’t work if they have it. Not all Americans are insured. Some families depend on essential workers’ income. Secondly, the infected still need treatment which overburdens our healthcare system. What’s not clicking?

@@miraafloyd I understand that, but how is that "putting essential workers" at risk? Like, people not having insurance and people working doesn't effect the death rate rapidly. Also, "treatment" for most of the population is simply staying at home and eating some soup. That's literally it.

@Smythe you do know...well...maybe you don’t 🤔....that COVID causes other heath issues that people die from....like u don’t get COVID and just die. It’s a respiratory infection that’s also known to affect the heart.....two main organs you need to live and then if the person has underlying health issues that was exacerbated by COVID-19 infection....soooo...yeah I highly doubt if you get in a car accident and die and they test you and put you down as a Covid death. Let’s use our brains, get real facts, and not assume something you know nothing about. I know a little more cuz I use to work in the hospital.

@Christopher Sim your argument is invalid because you immediately start off with insulting me. Do you know what I know have you done the research i have done? They did it their way...now watch to see what happens... Did they eradicate it 100% we will see... Or how about this? The US government and the media has been lying to the people for far too long...so it might be a little hard to just accept what they say at face value especially after reading what the CDC says...you do know the CDC flip flops on alot of what they say...its all fear based in the US...the virus seems to be the new War on Terror...you know the lies that kept us in iraq and Afghanistan for almost 20 years...dont you think they could do the same thing but for a illness...3000 people died on 9/11 sounds like a lot...now hear 3000 everyday...sounds scarier... Not saying its fake but its not as bad as what they are saying...like all illnesses underlining conditions and age have a big part of deaths...but like I said as long as you show 1 symptom without being tested positive they will consider it a covid death...dont believe me there is video of CDC saying that...look past the MSM ( they are all owned by same people) and see what you can find without being told what to know...

Even when you are asymptomatic and test positive you very rarely spread the virus. Still you are added to the sum. Fear mongoring. It is crazy all the testing. With the influenza the flu they do not do testing like this. Imagine they did how many would be positive. And the common flu kills thousands of people. Did anyone ever care then? O and drs and nurses are layed off when they speak out about empty hospitals cause it goes against the plan. Know this as a fact.
@eaqua56

@@LV-xt4yo Testing is supposed to, especially in the era of a novel virus, trace those infected and prevent spreading. The problem is, towards the beginning there weren't enough tests, people were not social distancing, quarantining themselves, and wearing masks. A lot of healthcare workers are risking their lives disproportionately for something that should've been preventable. Since the flu is not new, and hospitals were well prepared (PPE) for it, it has not posed a problem. Shortage of PPE (again look to why there was a shortage) has been terrible for the American health system as well.
@michaeldeierhoi4096
@michaeldeierhoi4096 4 жыл бұрын
@@LV-xt4yo Make no mistake on this point!! This pandemic is hard to deal with. It has overwhelmed hospital staff a few months ago and now it is again particularly in the southern and western states. Here are few specific observations. You are making a false comparison with the flu and the covid virus. In the first place there is no vaccine for covid while there is for the flu. The flu vaccine is far from perfect but it does reduce the mortality every year. The flu kills maybe 30 to 60,000 people per year and usually only in the 5-6 colder months. The covid pandemic has killed 140,000 officially. And many countless more died at home and elsewhere that were never tested. And here we are mid-summer and the death rate from covid is increasing BECAUSE the infection rate is increasing so fast. Testing must be aggressive to identify and quarantine those who test positive otherwise the virus would run out of control and vulnerable people are even more threatened with illness and death. The virus IS out of control in several states now especially Texas and Florida because those states reopened too early back in early May and now these states are seeing over 10,000 new cases per day!!
@michaeldeierhoi4096
@michaeldeierhoi4096 4 жыл бұрын
@@LV-xt4yo Here is one point to consider. You state that even a person who is asymptomatic spreads the virus rarely. But what does rarely mean empirically when we are talking rate of disease spread?? Here is what the epidemiology says about that. The Reproductive Rate defines how likely a person in a given state will spread the virus. A person with an R number of 1 would on average spread the virus to one other person. This would result in the virus not expanding nor contracting. So a R number less then 1 is best, because then the virus contracts to zero, but the higher above 1 that the R number is the more people that person will spread the virus to. A difference of 1 vs 1.5 is actually a big dif in the spread rate because when you have thousand of people who are positive, but don't know it they could spread the virus to 1500 people thus dramatically spreading the virus.

We are open 5 days a week and 2 Saturdays a month and did not close our doors or decrease our hours during this pandemic. And, that goes for most of the food pantries in my area. I tested yesterday, Sat. June 27 for covid19, because I am scheduled for a colonoscopy tomorrow June 29 at 2pm. My test came back negative. I'm 73 and live in Madison, Wisconsin. I've been self-quarantined as best I am capable for the last three months. I hope all goes well and all is well with you.

Why in all the pictures of her at the hospital wasn't she wearing a mask? I find that concerning even if she only did it for a few minutes she could have been spreading the virus.

First...thank you to her for doing an awesome job caring for her fellow nurses and caring for the people in Louisiana. I think I had it the end of March. Never could get tested. My doctor prescribed a Z pack and I was home. I had none of the symptoms everyone else had. Fever for about 3 days, a cough that lasted maybe a day or two. My surprise symptoms were loss of appetite, nausea and diarhhea. I took the antibodies test and have them so I assume I had it. This virus is so crazy

I no this is a critical time sad well as unusual for many of us. But for those nurses, doctors and other facilitators who stand in the face of this danger (COVID 19 virus). Who are dedicated to their practice to do no harm. I commend you and I pray for your safety that as you go home to your families they will be safe as well. Thank you for all you do and may God bless you.

Vitamin d people start taking it and making it part of your daily routine. And get on a antibiotic immediately if needed do not let these or any symptoms progress

An antibiotic is for bacteria but this is a virus. Vitamin D is good, yes, also lots of Vitamin C, the other vitamins, zinc, turmeric, glutathione, goldenseal, echinacea, nanosilver and colloidal silver, mushrooms (Host Defense has 17 dried mushrooms in a capsule), etc.

@@robinkrop9404Robin, I'll share with you and Gadzooks, the things I took while combating this virus and what finally worked. I usually don't go to these extremes to treat an infection, but at that time I was facing the grim reaper and knocking on deaths door. Anyway, I'll paste a copy of a comment I recently shared with someone that explains my long ordeal with this virus, take care. ----- I had a severe case of Covid in my lungs and wasn't sure if I was going to make it. I treated it at home, because the only solution the doctors in the US have are ventilators. I laid on my side twice a day to drain the fluid to keep from drowning, and started using heat treatment with a hair dryer and breathing in the hot air for 30 minutes, several times a day to slow the replication. I also turned the heat up to above 95F. Then I started taking every antiviral known to man. I took 2000 mg of oil of oregano daily, 1000mg olive leaf extract, cayenne, mushrooms, garlic, milk thistle, skullcap, diosmine, hesperidin, grapeseed and grape fruit seed extracts, cinnamon, quinine sulfate, drank 2 liters of tonic water with quinine per day, one gallon of green tea, quercetin, zinc sulfate, zinc picolinate, high dose vitamin C and D, Azithromycin and cipro which are antibiotics with anti viral properties, cumin, coconut oil, indole 3 carbinol , NAC and celery seeds. I also took Curcumin and ginger for anti inflammatories which helped slow the cytokine storm. All of these things helped, but I still had this crap in my lungs over a month after the infection started. The fluid went down to the point where I only had to drain it once a day, but the infection was hanging on. Then God reminded me of something a guy had told me several weeks before I became sick, that he used Ivermectin worm medicine to cure his infection. I ordered some on the internet, and once I took it, I was totally recovered in 4 days. I went for a nasal swab test at the county health department and I was virus free. Ivermectin doesn't actually kill the viruses, it just stops them from replicating replacements to carry on after they die. Since their life spans are only a few days before they die, once they are prevented from replicating replacements, they die in a few days and you are 100% virus free. You only need one dose, because it has a long half life and stays in the body for several days and the dosage is 1mg per every 10 lbs. of body weight. Our FDA has not approved it for Covid treatment, because nobody has funded a large million dollar control group study showing it works. It's approved by the FDA for treating worms though and has a long safety record. Since it's a generic drug, there's no money for big pharma, so nobody is gonna spend a million dollars to fund a study. Recently in Bangladesh researchers gave 60 Covid positive patients Ivermectin and in 4 days all 60 tested negative for the virus, and many of the patients had severe cases of Covid like I had. I also recently read where the city of Trinidad in Bolivia gave 300,000 doses of Ivermectin to it's residents to cure Covid 19 and also as a prophylaxis to keep them from catching it. In Oklahoma the word is out about this cure, and people have cleared the pet and feed store shelves of Ivermectin. Anyway I just thought I'd share this information with you and the other people on this thread. Good Luck and God Bless

So on what day did your ability to smell return? Why was your quarantine time only 10 days, when we are repeatedly told 14? Why aren’t health care workers re-tested before returning to work and shouldn’t they be tested periodically since they are surrounded by this virus? Our DHEC Dr. a few weeks into this pandemic said contact tracing would be to time consuming, now we are a hotspot and the news station is reporting that those who have tested positive have never heard from DHEC contact tracers. I wonder are other states handling this more professionally or are we all going to be dead within 6 months?This Governor is adamant he is Not shutting anything down, follow the rules is what he says. Will not make wearing a masks mandatory, that per him is up to each municipality and enforcing, not enough manpower. Well we would not be a hotspot if the rules were followed! At this point survival of the pandemic is roll the dice and may lady luck be on your side. The government has failed us!
@ellea1449
@ellea1449 4 жыл бұрын
The governments of the US and the UK have most certainly failed us. We have the same issues here with contact tracers. It all suggests our governments simply want the virus to spread through the population, despite the deaths. We are told by scientists that symptomatic patients must isolate for a minimum 10 days, extended on the continuation of symptoms. However, in the UK, this is only 7 days before people are allowed to end isolation and go on to infect more people.

It’s out of control, that’s why there isn’t contact tracing being done. When a state is getting 5000 or even 9000 cases per DAY, how can that be tracked? We would have to have an army of people. The volume of cases is just coming in too fast and too exponentially. There’s not even time to train people and ramp up things now. It’s horrible. All because we didn’t avoid Italy’s example. So very stupid of us.

I think loss of sense of smell is due to loss of zinc which gets used up by white blood cells fighting the virus.
