Kessel and Quick both put in the work during regular season which put the knights in the position to win the cup, so seeing them suit up and take what the deserved isn’t hilarious it’s actually awesome!!! All the young guys that didn’t get to play in the playoffs that contributed a lot in the regular season Also deserved it all, everyone really stepped it up to get to thing point and give them tons of respect

Sorry....but in Canada, NO ONE in that arena would be too tired of cheering when the Stanley Cup is finally won. I was flabbergasted at the lack of emotion in that crowd...lol. The funny part is that Vegas had the most Canadians of any team in the NHL.

@@joeidaho5938 The entire town was going crazy, and honestly, there was a lot of emotion going on for fans at the game. This team whose odds were 500-1 to win the cup the first year, were doubted by every major hockey analyst and the league itself, brought our city hope after a mass shooting. A lot of people in that building last night were feeling that emotion, they won the cup for the 58 souls lost. Canada has far less NHL teams than the US so it's not rocket science bud, a lot of Canadians end up in the US playing pro! Gosh I'm so sick of reading comments like this. What are you asking for? Are you asking for more teams? More US Players? A pat on the back? A hug? Get over it!

I’m a Sabres fan and even I’m happy for Eichel. Him being here was almost like a toxic relationship, and both he and the team improved by him being traded. I’m glad he seems happy in Vegas. Also idk how people in the replies are arguing he’s selfish, he had 20 assists in the playoffs, 6 more than the guy with the 2nd most. Dude was an elite playmaker

Phil played in the first series. I actually was fearing he got injured. But nothing ever came out on it. I believe he didn't come back out on the ice after taking a hit in the corner. But don't hold me to it.

The comments about the fans is so weird to me, I saw a lot of posts saying "If it were real hockey fans they would have been screaming and crying over the win." I don't know what game you watched bud, but everyone had about 40 minutes to get over the shock of the win, because by the end of the 2nd it was obvious what the outcome would be. The entire 3rd period was a formality. No one is gonna hold on to their emotions for the entire second intermission and the final period to symbolically cry when the buzzer goes off, that's a silly thing to expect.

You are incorrect about Kessel not playing “a single game in the whole playoffs.” He didn’t play a single game in the finals, but he did play four games in the first round against Winnipeg with 0 G, 2 A, and 2 PIM. Cassidy felt he was not a true bottom six player, so Phil was bumped for more brawny types.

Expansion teams now are given good teams right off the hop. Vegas was a contender right away. The kraken are already a playoff threat. People are putting way too much stock in the “This is so impressive for a brand new team” narrative. The expansion draft automatically creates a good team. Mix that with being over the cap because of the LTIR loophole, and this is not surprising at all.

I believe Kessel played in 4 playoffs games in the 1st round. Just to clarify that. He should have won the Conn Smyth his first penguins cup. Crosby was better in the final but Phil was better throughout IMO. He is the most maligned 3 cup winner of all time!

Dude go back and watch the first round, our nacho cheese enthusiast was on ice until the 2nd round bud. I was worried that Quick, Kessel, Cotter, qould not be on the cup. When Quick lifted his 3rd cup, you could tell he is part of VGK now. Then Kessell lifted the cup, so did Cotter. brussoit and Thompson lifted the cup as well. when we won 2 nights ago, there wasnt a dry eye in the stands. This win was for the fans who have been with the team. VGK corrected the mistakes of 2018

Sometimes you measure a guy´s contribution by how loose he keeps the lockerroom. If VGK signed him again to a one year, league minimum contract, it would be a great signing. He´s great in the lockerroom and great for the guys. There´s a lot to be said for that.
