A note for all of you fingerstyle guitarists: This is played with a Kyser Drop D capo on the second fret and the tuning is DGCGCE. This gives the guitar the sound of an open C tuning but the bass note for that 4th chord is easy to reach (unlike drop C where that 4th bass note is difficult). Hi Friends! I spend a lot of time in this room playing guitar. Most of my time spent playing is in a rather raw form as I learn and practice songs but it's such a blessing when they come together, and it just turns into worship. It feels like there's a moment when it's no longer just my fingers on the strings making sound, but it becomes a spiritual thing that's so much bigger than the guitar. I appreciate you including the words. While the music is lovely, it becomes about the musician if we focus on the music rather than the Object of the song. I can’t wait to participate in the glorious music in heaven, all of us praising our Savior!

Hi Laurie, I agree that the focus should always be on the Lord. I've been doing some videos that show me playing because I've had some requests from guitar players who are trying to learn my arrangements. It's a lot easier to learn a song on KZfaq by watching someone play instead of just hearing the music. I also look forward to praising God face to face in heaven!

Thanks Jeremy! My son and I led worship at a men's conference at our church recently and did this song. I sang that version of course but I really enjoyed flipping the chorus into a minor key. I felt like it brought a fresh feel to this song that I've sang/played hundreds of times. That gave me the chord structure for this instrumental version.

Love the composition especially the harmonic intro and outro. Have you thought about putting in a little tonal bend or vibrato to those notes in the space after the harmonic arpeggios? The three methods I'm familiar with on the acoustic are pressing on the string above the nut, "gently" flexing and releasing the neck towards or away from the body, or using the tuning peg (requires a good ear). Once you fret the harmonic it will ring out so you can take that space to use these kinds of techniques to add some texture to the space after the last note of your arpeggio. Your compositions are already amazing, but perhaps there is some tonal nuances you can continue to experiment and grow to incorporate into your sound. God bless!

Hi Davy, good question! The tuning is my modification to the "open C tuning". I tuned D, G, C, G, C, E. Then I use a "drop D" capo on the second fret which covers all but the lowest string. I really enjoy this tuning/capo configuration.
