Casuals talking about Dlo like he’s not even a starting caliber point guard is crazy…these people are like fish with short term memory

Dlo was a big reason Lakers went #13 to #7 seed. Dlo was also a positive influence to his teams who all emulated Dlo's signature “ice in his veins”. That simple celebration is straight from when Dlo brought it with him in his Laker rookie season. Don’t let Dlo's poor WCF play make you forget his positive effect on this team the rest of the season. That said, this playoff run must give Dlo something to think about. His previous playoffs with Wolves and Nets (his All star season) resulted in similar endings … seeing limited minutes in the 4th due to his poor defense. Competition will help Dlo as well as Vincent. My hope is by mid season we all as Laker fans will be torn with the idea of trading Dlo away. However, it will be up to Dlo to take the next step.

DLO is that kid that went to college and came home more mature and responsible. I am glad the Lakers brought him back. The Lakers are probably the most versatile team in the league..if the two old guys stay healthy.

The biggest determining factor between Vincent and Russell is pace. Russell plays his own slower pace which suits better with starting unit. Vincent plays a faster/scrappy pace which makes him a perfect leader off the bench.

I never really liked DLO, but he has grown up a lot. I also like the fact Lakers didn't give him some stupid contract, the contract for DLO Is pretty good

Gabe Vincent = 11 million dollars per season. Dennis Schroder = 13 million dollars per season. Gabe Vincent is not in competition with D'Angelo Russell. Just a replacement for Dennis Schroder.

Many teams don’t have the versatility that we do. If you want more offensive production in your lineup you utilize players like Dlo & Rui. If you need more defense you plug in a Gabe Vincent or Vando. So many lineup combinations and strategies to use against other teams. It’s gonna be a fun season…

Rob Pelinka stated somewhere that an “open competition” will be held (most likely training camp and the first few games of the regular season) to determine who would start. I personally feel like DLo should start and Gabe should come off the bench.

I'm sure it isn't a problem during the regular season but it sure is in the playoffs. Even the teams LA beat last season in the playoffs were watching how Denver picked them apart and how they attacked DLo so much that LA had to remove him from the starting lineup. There's definitely a reason why LA had Dlo lift his no trade clause. They plan on using him as trade bait right before the playoffs.

JSM, GV is a very intriguing player... Totally different from DR. Just the way they move... Gabe is unpredictable. Obviously really athletic to make those quick movements... tough to defend. Gonna be fun watching how he plays with our superstars. SoCalFreddy

Very smart strategy getting a PLAYER'S OPTION on the 2nd season of his 2-year contract. Right back in free agency to get a higher salary. Motivation for D'Angelo to connect with a movement without the ball style 3-point shooter off the 2nd Unit.

D'lo will start, but won't finish games. Gabe V will be the closer. He's quicker, plays off ball well. He's a better point of attack PG. He's has a quicker release of his shots. It's Gabe's to lose.

Losing shroeder left a significant hole. I’m excited about Vincent stepping into that role, especially since he’s a better floor spacer in late games. I feel like Lebron will have a healthier year this year and that will make up for the downhill rim pressure we lost with Shroeder.

Vincent is mainly a shooting guard

I don’t think D’Lo will be traded. The contract he signed comes with some incentives. He is a skilled PG that runs the pick and roll a lot better than LeBron for sure. He’s needed within this offense and I can’t wait to see a full season of him running our offense with LeBron and AD. Vincent will be a great addition. He’s going to put pressure on the opposing team’s defense with his drives to the basket and lights out shooting. Hood-Schafino is an excellent PG who is long and can control the offense. He can create his on shot and takes reliable shots. We are blessed to have guys with such diversity. LeBron can play the point as well as AR. I’m loving this team right now. We have lock down defenders too. I hated to see Dennis, Lonnie and the rest of the guys go but I understood that we needed to get bigger. We are one big guy away from what I feel a championship.

Gabe + Dlo aren’t going to be competition they’re going to be complementary to each other Gabe is more aggressive were as Dlo is more offensive together they’re like NFL RB sharing the workload Thunder & Lightening.

I will take Vincent anytime. I watched both of them how they play. Vincent is more reliable on both offense and defense while Russell is on- and- off, not good for a point guard. Reliability is key.

He's been compared to Derek Fisher. If he's as good as Dfish, it's a good signing. Dfish wasn't the most talented or athletic but dude knew how to play.

Having two quality PGs has got to be great insurance for a team. Arent there like a few other teams went this same route this trading season?

First of all D-Lo is not a PG, he’s more of a SG than anything. The problem with bad coaching is they don’t know the difference between the two. The Lakers coaching staff should have been moved LeBron James to the PG position and let Vincent be the starting SG over D-Lo because he’s a better defender and we all know defense wins championships.
