I avoid smalls being lost in the mail by using a 6x4x4 box instead of a poly/bubble mailer. They're the same price.

The smell could be from your mini split air conditioner. I had the same thing happened. Make sure you run the fan for 10 minutes after you ran it all day because the moisture will cause bacteria to grow overnight

We pay about $4700 a year 3 cars with full coverage. In Michigan where our rates are ranked highest in the country. We do pay monthly so it may be cheaper if I paid it annually. We do have a child driver on our policy too.

I just went on Mercari and did a search for knife. So many listings for knives. So what’s different about your knives versus the ones that are listed? There’s an argument right there.

Mercari for sure sells knives,there are tons listed and a few sold. I had this issue but not with knives. Someone most likely flagged your listing. Mercari told me it's impossible to monitor all listings and as a seller if I ever see anything that violates Mercari I can report the listing too, that's why I believe someone flagged those listings. I find it funny they claim no knives but yet assisted in completing transactions of the knives that did sell and electronically assisted in generating all those that are listed as we speak.

I truly sorry that happened to you. I got blocked by them once as a Buyer and never knew the reason. Trying to obtain information as to why was like pulling teeth. Then I got a random email advising me my account was good to go. Have not been back on site since.

Dave, these things happen to everyone in different ways. I would contact them and make sure there wasn't an error on their part. That is all you can do. If they do not unlock your account, then just move on. Remember it was an honest mistake. You rock Dave!

If you only de-activated the listings and didnt delete them, then yes they scan for that. Deactivated items can still be seen on Mercari through a direct link. You cant have those items on the platform at all because its a liability for them.

Always heard about Florida insurance. We honestly want to move there, for many reasons including the weather. Anyways we know that would be a huge difference because we pay $815/6 months for a 2020 SUV and car. That is almost $400 more a month and just crazy. Also that Mercari issue is ridiculous. Maybe if they don't reopen it, you can appeal it to some higher up and actually speak to a person.

Hi Dave, You shouldn't let eBay decide the case for you that will end up as a defect on your account. Even if the item was scanned in and it still does not say delivered on the tracking you have no choice but to refund the buyer. When I get those I'll wait the full three 3 days for the item to show up then I'll just refund them. For my small items I switched to a 6 in by 10-in white bubble mailer so they wouldn't get lost. The cost of the shipping supplies was minimal so I decided to do it.

Some of the insurance woes are just living in FL, it will keep getting worse.

I think you should just tell macari good bye I got a cross lister and have listed more then ever on there and haven’t had a single sale since they change the fees I’m giving them until my free trail runs out on the cross lister if I don’t get some sales I’m saying bye bye macari I use to make a few hundred a month on there.

From what I seen on the Mercari subreddit that it's an utter shitshow for sellers most posts I see are them always complaining about shipping charges being charged 4x more than the shipping should be, rampant scams and fraud, taking down random items for no reason, and much much more.

My key fob broke and i was left with just a partial key. Everyone said it has some special chip and i would have to go to the dealership and pay a few hundred. That was a lie because i got a new key fob from Battery and Bulbs for 30 or 50 bucks in just 5 mins.

Dave… ship those small items in no smaller than a 6x6x6 box or a larger padded envelope. We had a slot car that got lost as my husband sent it in a tiny box. It was found in the Postal carriers trunk months later. Just this old woman’s thoughts!

Regarding the van key, I would check with Ace Hardware, Advanced Auto, etc. they can normally make you a key and program it for way less. We have done this with newer vehicles with no issues at all.

Maybe you need to hire a very meticulous virtual assistant that does the double checking and reviews all your listings. PLEASE READ! At Ace hardware and some other places you can get a key fob for a fraction of the cost! Like around 50% last time i worked there. Sometimes the key still has to be ordered sure but chances are pretty good it will be in stock for common cars.

If you have something listed, and can not find the item, END THE ITEM BEFORE SOMEONE BUYS. Find the item, then relist.

I've also experienced a slowdown on Ebay and elsewhere right now, very slow and uninspiring activity. TBH, I see your videos and those of others you collaborate with and really don't pick up on there being a decline in sales. But for me it's really been slow. I think it's partly due to the tax season, and partly due to the economy. The economy isn't terrible, but we just went through an inflationary period and people may be focusing more on necessities. But that also makes me think, are the vast majority of people on these platforms just living paycheck to paycheck? I recently had my first need for Mercari support as a seller and found them to be completely inept, and really disappointing. They said they were going to fix my problem and send me a shipping label within 24-48 hours. I kept my buyer informed. Then they just never followed through and stopped responding about the issue. I had to cancel the order eventually.

My wife managed to flush my van key down the toilet last year and it was a traditional key with minor chip, no buttons or functions. It still cost us $200 to have someone come out and make a new key from the VIN number. The guy was here about an hour. The valet key has been the only key that has been able to still start my old Mercedes for many years now, the main key is just too worn down.

Also i live in Kansas & pay $120 a month for 2 cars about to add my daughter to it & it only will be $300 a month with her added. Those prices are CRAZY!

My lady was looking over her insurance theyre trying to increase premium by $400 a year for no actual reason. She inly insures 1 car and $1700 is idiotic. Shes shopping around now.

I think once the dust settles Mercury's system will sort it out. If not then be firm for a human. I'd be irate if it was me...total respect for your cool attitude! 😎
