Jen has the hair and the laugh was spot on…not even a Pokémon fan and the entire Evil Dave narrative made me smile.

Idea: hide tiny little pokemon around the arena in places where they make sense, but are not extremely noticeable, like the changes by the discard pile. Or some pokemon in the stands with the people! You could even make a model for Latias's human form!

I think that the concept is really well done. The only thing that I would be worried about is the prize cards. Cause if they are sticking out you could just look at the back of them. You’d have to have an honour system or just make the stands behind them high enough that you can’t see them from behind.

Jazza what do you think about putting a mural on the front of the card with a bunch of your favourite Pokémon in a full art card style?

I like the charizard idea, but doing enemies would also be fun, like pikachu on one side and mimikyu (sp?) on the other. My daughter always sets up her battle mat to mirror my setup instead of doing the same pattern on her side. I think it's cute. Doesn't really matter as long as the cards are still used the same way.

Just a thing to have in mind, sometimes the number of benched Pokémon increases so having a specific borderline can be a trouble. Also I think you’ll need space for vstar or similar cards. Amazing back of the card btw you really nailed it

Another idea: A tiny coin-toss-station within the arena. You could make it next to the battle station in the middle, opposite of the "Poke Center" discard pile. A little funtion with an installd coin that you could flip by just give it a good nudge or even use a little lever or button to make it swirrl. So you don't have the coin flying around everywhere and accedently destroying things.

Base cards is always popular. I'm thinking jungle or the early promo cards. Even ancient mew would be dope.

I love the idea! As a Pokémon TCG player I would say that there are a few layout things that are specific to the POkémon TCG - deck goes above discard pile is one of them. Also dont forget a space in between the 2 sides for Stadium Cards! As for the front of the card, I think that you should do your favourite Pokémon!

I think the area is laid out very well!! I love the Chansey discard pile and the stands with people! However, my concern is the prize cards aren't at an angle, so if you or your opponent got up, you could see what the cards are. I think putting them at maybe a 20-30° angle would be good. Also, would there be separate discard piles? That's also important Edit: idk if these cards are still in play, so correct me if I'm wrong. But if they are, what about a space for the stadium cards? Or even a space to put that V-Star token/card indicating you've used it this game?

The heck? Jen has an amazing villain laugh!! Also I think something iconic like the gen 1 starters or pikachu would work well for the giant card. If it's going to be the central piece for the entire board, it should be something that represents all of pokemon. You know, something more central that can always fit into the background of the battle, regardless of what kind of cards people are playing with or what generation pokemon cards everyone is using.

Looks great, and the editing and pacing was excellent in this video, which I’m happy to see. Since you’ll be putting in a lot of effort into making this project, I’d actually recommend putting down a few layers of gesso on the wood panel first and sanding it smooth so you won’t get that pop of wood grain that can be seen with a raking light. These raised areas will also be the first to wear off when it makes contact with the table. So, I’d consider this work a proof of concept and make a new one with these suggestions in mind. I don’t even play Pokémon and I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with this.
