I’m here in Da nang right now. This is so true. The people are so happy, friendly and lovely. I am a vegetarian so still have to give the chicken a miss. Sorry. Oh and i feel so safe here, I’m staying here until end of August. ❤

Regarding the model driving a motorbike with her hands free, she was arrested because she was a celebrity and then posted a video of her hands free on social networks. When asked to remove the video, she refused, so the authorities arrested her. We will be treated more severely than usual. As for the girl who talked about politics, she was sentenced to 3 years in prison because she said some incorrect things and made personal attacks. She was also fined many times before being arrested and tried in court. Everything was very fair. declare

If you don't know all the information's source can only get from The ministry of Public Security, so where u said she refused to remove the video when been asked is unconfirmed. It's actually the moment they've found out her trainer was using fake liscense, they've already prosecuted her. It's extremely hard to believe a female celebrity tend to refuse required from functional force, as a Vietnamese we're all know when thing happened within the police's involved, we always cooperate as much as we could and hardly can refuse anything, if you are Viet you probably can relate.

In Vietnam, you can freely talk about politics or criticize officials, but it must be true with specific evidence. When you point out corrupt officials with evidence, you will also be rewarded and honored. There are many Hotlines or websites of state agencies and local authorities where you can submit your comments. If you just listen to rumors or sources that are not true and then make false statements, you will be criticized.

Local speaking here, confirm above comment is true P/s: you can see lots of videos or post people talking bad about the government on Facebook, KZfaq or Tiktok. It's just not possible to block all of them. If they want to hide/censor it, they have to block all the social network (which in my opinion is a good thing :) )

Traditional Vietnamese coffee requires you to sit and sip for 15 - 30 minutes. It is not instant coffee like Starbucks. That's why you see so many Vietnamese people sitting in coffee shops. The coffee taste is a bit bitter and very strong, you may not get used to it but you will get addicted to it. That is why Vietnamese coffee is world famous in addition to being the world's second largest exporter of coffee.

I live in Australia, in Australia (and the West in general) you have "freedom of speech" and that's pretty much it. Everything else is restricted one way or another. Whereas in Vietnam, you have limited freedom of speech but you're free to do pretty much anything you want as long as you don't piss other people off. So I think Vietnam is freer country to live day to day. What the lady said about the non-working men is not correct, she's referring to villagers (back in her village) who live off the land. These people they are usually farmers so they do have plenty of time on their hands at a certain time to do men's things, which the women don't like.

That's just a personal opinion, you should meet more people to see if Vietnam is free or not? If Vietnam did not have freedom, their economy could not develop like that and this year they will welcome 18 million tourists! As for politics, even though it is a communist party, their economy is a capitalist market economy!

I believe Vietnam has the most optimal form of Freedom, it is their right to have freedom but they also must be responsible of what they can do with this privilege. If a person abuse their freedom then they don't deserve it in the first place.

I can say that Vietnamese know how and have experience to keep the country intact than most other countries. That why citizens or someone else who take advantage of freedom of speech to cause social disorder that harm our independence have to be stopped. it doesn't mean we don't have the right to talk politics, I can say that we know how the world works more than most of the west citizens. but if u say the wrong thing and cause bad influence to the other or even more, to the nation, u have to bear the consequences of what u caused. Other than that, the rest are all free and easy. Citizens don't need to pay much income tax or social amenities, it's may called "rich people, poor government". but the government still finds ways to build infrastructure and social security. That's why Vietnamese are quite chill. It can be summed up like that. Stay safe and enjoy your trip.

Vietnam is as free as the USA!! Maybe Vietnam is more free because people have the freedom to be safe in public they don't have to worry about shootings and kids are safe in school. Cost of living in Vietnam is low for the locals, crimes are low, discrimination is rare, homelessness is not out of control. These are just a few things the WESTS don't talk about when they speak of communist Vietnam

yeah very free, especially during covid time. They locked you down in your own house like a prisoner or they forced you to a shelter where you shared toilets with hundred of people when they thought you might have a chance to get covid from the person who was 10 houses from where you were. Thanks for the value video. I follow a bunch of yt channels (in and outsie VN). We talk about politics, history, peoples everyday. As long as it not provoking against the government, or not say anything incorrectly that damage someone/organisation's reputation. Therefore we can talk anything after an official news release. Or government will not agree if we spread bad behaviour to social media that young generation will follow and that will effect the community. (That the story of the model riding the motorbike without licence, your friend mentioned on the video). This is a really interesting video, you choose the right topic which everyone want to know.

@@wonderworld4889 chỉ một câu VN hết chiến tranh 50 năm là đã thấy thiếu hiểu biết rồi. Chưa kể Thái Lan thì ko có chiến tranh, Singapore thì có miếng đất vàng, Hàn Quốc thì nhờ đi đánh VN mà được 1 đống tiền. Kiến thức cơ bản còn ko có mà bắt bẻ ng khác

I can see that's it's a touchy subject but I appreciate the effort. I commented last week on how free it seems here and I still feel that way as it pertains to my lifestyle. I've since been informed on what can happen though if you break laws (specially certain laws) and it is severe. The old "liberty vs safety" balance we learned about in poli-sci? It does feel incredibly safe and the people are genuinely great in a way that I haven't seen anywhere else. Great channel also. Tks

Very eloquent lady and nice interview. I just found this channel. She has been in Singapore which is also a great place but very expensive. Is her husband from Singapore? She said her husband didn’t want to stay in Singapore and prefers Vietnam but I wonder where is he originally from. Danang is the city with the best living standards in Vietnam. I still haven’t made it to Danang. I heard that some young people or any person who criticizes the Communist Party of Vietnam on social media can get in trouble with the law. As foreigners it is better not to criticize the governments of other countries. I wish this lady showed more of her life in Vietnam and her family. I wish her success in her business I always feel sad when I hear young people opened business and then it fails. I wish her success and happiness.

I should of said if you want to ask those kinds of questions that can put someone especially to a local Vietnamese person in their country could be somewhat awkward and to make a video too is a little bit silly That’s sincerely my opinion only… as a resident and company owner I’ve learnt to follow the “law of the land”even in the cultural groups/ provinces are very diverse. Cô ấy chỉ về trong thời gian ngắn và nhìn thấy một phần của cuộc sống người khác. Tôi ví dụ như ở quê tôi, có những chú bác đi làm từ 4,5h sáng và trở về nhà lúc 9, 10h. Sau đó họ dành thời gian buổi chiều ngồi nấu vài món ăn và uống rượu cùng nhau. Họ đi làm nửa ngày và kiếm được khoảng 500~700k, trong khi các bà vợ làm việc trong văn phòng lương chỉ từ 6 triệu đến 10 triệu là căng.

Thanks! I think Thailand is the best for first timer to Asia. Though Vietnam is also definitely an easy place to travel for the first time :) if you have a month, I’d say 2weeks Thailand then 2weeks Vietnam 😊 but don’t try to see the whole country in two weeks 🤓 don’t rush it. Thanks for watching

I was born and raised in Singapore and left for the US in my mid 20s. I shall be visiting Vietnam for 3 mths later this month starting in Saigon and will be spending about 4 weeks in Da Nang. Hainanese chicken rice in Da Nang?! I've got to try it as it is a signature Singaporean street food and I hope Ms Tram's is comparable! :)

Did a trip,to ba na mountains. The guide explained how American soldiers did r and r in Da Nang, and went awal and did not go back to fight and stayed with the monks in the mountains,. ThemAmericans bombed the mountains where they were staying

Nhưng vấn đề là nếu có người thường xuyên nói đến những câu chuyện tương tự ( tức là chỉ xoáy vào những tiêu cực ), chưa cần cơ quan chính phủ điều tra thì người dân đã làm thay chính phủ việc đó. Cũng may Ms Trâm nói vẫn còn nhẹ nhàng, nếu không tôi đoán cửa hàng của cô ấy sẽ sớm phải đóng cửa bởi sự tẩy chay của người dân.

I could not understand why the host had to delete my comment??? I just said that what she talked about Vietnamese men stay home drinking, only women earn money is wrong, and it might happen only in some parts of the country sides... Men in Danang, Ha noi, Ho Chi Minh city, etc used to be the ones who gain money for the family, not to wait their wives to open a restaurant to feed them. The woman in the interview might see it in her family, unfortunately, but it is not general at all for other families:) I have never seen any male friend/relative of mine stays home without doing anything and wait for his wife to earn money:(@@PhanDucAnh

Vietnamese can talk about politics as much as can , just dont try to usurps the government , start a coup , OR , if you have the capacity to do that , then dont talk about politics. like citizens can definitely talk freely privately about it during tea coffee , but when you are in the positions of fame , wealth , power , that can influence a few millions people then broadcasting your political opinion become a problem.
