Very good! Excellent! I liked the graphics and images and information shared in the video. You hit the marks from America Lumina to Impala to Holden based Lumina to The Philippines Chevrolet Lumina version. That car was basically the Buick Regal/Century body with Chevrolet parts. I recall the Chinese version of the W body too. Buick Regal still lives in China today. It is an Opel based design. We used to get it here in the United States. I liked how you touched on the points and also said we will touch on Monte Carlo in another video. Lumina had a successful run indeed. The 1995-2001 Lumina was not a bad car at all especially when it was equipped a 3800 V6. My friend had to give his up this year. He did not want to. It was due to rust. It was a Midwest car. He drove it across the country for work. He had over 150,000 miles. I am going to watch it again. Thank you again.

My neighbor rode down a guardrail during the snow storm. Wrecking a front fender. So for a interesting wedding gift I got them a color matching black fender for their luma z34. I thought it about wrapping it and bringing it to the ceremony. They thought it was funny and liked it.

My dad had a Hunter green 1997 Lumina that I loved riding in. He bought it shortly after his blue ‘93 LeBaron was rear ended and totaled. The Lumina was safe, comfortable, and decent on gas mileage. It had a rust spot above the rear right wheelwell below the gas cap. Other than the backseat interior light failing and some minor rust issues, we kept the car running for almost 15 years until a coolant leak.

These 2nd gen luminas weren’t that much to look at. But they sure were decent cars. I bought a 2001 in 2013 for commuting. I got it with somewhere around 140,000 miles. It was comfortable, very reliable and got good fuel economy. What more could I ask for? The A/C worked great in southwestern AZ summers, and even the factory cassette player sounded nice and clear. I even found some of my old tapes to play in it.

I have two 9c3 '99 Luminas. One is a car I have owned for 15 years, L36 powered, 209k and still a beast. I've owned the other for 2 years, a mint condition '99 9c3 with a complete L67 swap, from a '98 GTP, including the 4t65e hd and Performance shift switch. I'll never part with 'em.

My mom drove one for over a decade. It was a very functional bit of family transportation. It rode well, was roomy, comfortable, and reliable. But zero personality.

I currently own a 2001 former rental car Lumina. The previous owner had it for 20 years. I’ve had it for about three months. It just turned over 200,000 miles.

My current daily is a 2001 lumina with the 3100 v6. It's been very reliable. Needing only minor Maintenance until it recently went over the 230k mile mark. Just had to replace the blinker switch, wich involved removing the steering wheel

Another great video! I learned so much...things that I didn't know behind the scenes during the cars development, thank you! The only thing I can add is that for 1995 ONLY, the Lumina LS and Monte Carlo Z34 could be had with the LQ1 motor and bench seat with column shift. Kind of an odd setup but very cool in my opinion because of that! Very few were made and I've only seen 3 total cars in that configuration. One was a Monte and two were Lumina's. The Monte was actually for sale in my hometown about 3 years ago. A White car with matching white alloys. The Lumina and Monte were the ONLY W body's you could get with both the LQ1 motor and bench seat with column shifter. Again, for one year only in 1995. Out in Colorado about 5 years ago is where I seen one of the Lumina cars I was talking about. A burgundy car with not only the LQ1 and bench seat, but with hubcaps and steel rims. The other Lumina was also a burgundy car out in Washington. Same color but with alloys. The LQ1 was offered until 97 in both the Lumina and Monte. Starting in 98, the 3800 took over. A sad end to a wonderful engine IMO.

Yes, GM should have definitely installed the L67 in the Lumina. We had to wait until 2004 with the W-body Impala SS to get that engine in a 4 door Chevy. It’s a shame foreign markets got RWD and an optional V8 combo. It seems as though they would’ve adopted the Commodore platform for the second gen Lumina or bought the Lumina back for a third or fourth generation based on the Commodore. The same could’ve been accomplished with the Monte Carlo/Monaro.

I worked on these new as a GM tech i bought a 99 Monte Carlo still have it and a 2nd plus 8 Pontiac Grand Prixs all 3800 l32 and l67 cars and been good. Think Pontiac has a tougher stronger version of the w chassis. All suspension parts bigger on Pontiac

Great coverage on an admittedly ordinary car! Chevy missed the mark in a lot of ways with this car but the LEAST they could have done was add the SC 3800 in Z34 trim.

this was a tale of too little too late. By the time the new 2nd gen lumina came out the taurus was halfway through its 2nd gen. I liked the 2nd gen lumina personally.

It was difficult to sell the four door Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme when the Chevy Lumina had a larger body and more interior room on the same wheelbase. Of course, the Olds looked like an overweight Saturn.

Everybody style from the lumina 1995 through 2001 I test drove and LTZ a long time I was about to buy it but the guy let's put me through hoops how much money you want so I change my mind on it but with that 3800 it was pretty quick
