Having an external mic has become very important for quality audio in every video. But buying seperare external mics for your computer and your camera is very expensive so use this hack to connect the same mic to both devices.

Thanks for the helpful video.❤ Do i have to get a ttrs as a spliter? Can't i use a headset that has headphone+mic in one? Therefore just need 1 head that will connect to my headset. Sorry i don't understand these things.😂 thanks!

Haha no worries. I could only find the splitter but if you can just get a trrs to trs converter that will work too for an external mic. I don’t know if a headphone with mic will work, try it. I specifically wanted to connect an external mic hence the setup 😅

@@Whatsnextakankshaooh you think if I got a headset which comes with a headphones & mic, the Mac Laptop may not recognize the mic and it won't work at all and will continue using the laptop inbuilt microphone?

Hey! Did you try changing input from the sound preferences? It sometimes doesn’t change automatically so you’ll need to click on USB in there.

I have the exact same one,the quality is low it worked for 4 months then it broke. I dont recommend buying it.

Because this problem only occurs in macbook and not windows laptops.

@@Whatsnextakanksha I have a windows lap, and a astro a10 gen2 gaming headset, the audio works just fine, but the mic does not work, it says that it isnt plugged in. So prolly i need to get a splitter I'm thinking.

@@Labelcoke you need a trrs to trs convertor if the splitter doesn’t work. Trrs goes in mac, trs goes in your mic. If it works use it, if it doesn’t, watch someone else’s video.
