FIX Microphone Not Working on Windows 10 | 3.5 mm 3 or 4 Pin

How to fix microphone not working on Windows 10 easily. The 3 or 4 pin mic may stop working without any reason or after Windows updates. You may have a headset with a mic or a standalone mic and these may not work on the single combo jack of your laptop.
If you just have a mic then it should work with the TRRS jack of your laptop.
Even you can connect a 4 pin headset to the dual audio jack of PC or laptop.
This video solves the mic related issue with your laptop/PC doesn't matter if you have a 3.5 mm 3 Pin mic or 4 pin mic headset. OR USB mic in some cases.
The most common problem is that earphones not working on a laptop having Windows 10 or Windows 11. The speakers may work but the mic doesn't work.
This can happen to any headphones with a mic.

Thanks it worked! After watching a ton of videos that didn't help at all, yours worked! I finally configured my 4 pin mobile phone headphones correctly, after having them set up as audio-only by mistake, the first time I plugged them on! Thank you so much!

Hello, I just want to give you a big thank you hug. I bought some skull candy earbuds for my laptop so I don’t have to use discord on my phone because I didn’t have headphones that worked with the pc, and I noticed the mic in the earbuds were not working. I looked up a video about “why doesn’t my earbud mic work” and saw a video and it said you need to buy an external cable and other crap like that and then I came across this video and it saved the day, after I uninstalled the Realtek drive, my mic was working perfectly. Thank you very much 🙏

Thank you very much, this tutorial helped me solve the problem. I needed to reinstall the Realtek HD audio software on Asus X540SC, now the computer detects the device when it is plugged to the jack port, the Realtek software asks if the device is a headset, a mic or speaker, so i can select and then it works fine.

Windows will auto reinstall the driver upon plugging in a device that uses it or needs it. Since it is a default driver it'll be reinstalled upon startup

this helped me soo much thank you my mic started to work when i installed the driver and did some adjustments thank you soo much i had two 3pin 3.5mm trr one for mic and sound and my laptop only came with one jack so i had to buy a splitter but when it came i could hear sound but my mic wouldnt work and now thanks to this vid it works i appreciate this vid soo much thank you

i have asus with one place to put 3.5mm but when i plugin my mic it doesn't appear and pc Don't make sounds like its a headphones but its not is the splitter cable will fix this problem
