@No_Sleepee3 жыл бұрын
@@Jose-en9wu Bug Fables is a spiritual successor to the original 2 Paper Mario games (64 and The Thousand Year Door), and it feels completely natural by comparison. It is both the biggest love letter to fans of the Paper Mario RPGs, and a slap in the face to Nintendo that the big N simply refuses to indulge and free-dive into the creative chasm that is the Paper Mario Series, and instead keep making the same platform spinoff-type games. The writing is on par, if not better, than the humor and character you see with the Party Members and NPCs in TTYD. It's fun, but the bosses can get a little ridiculous when playing on Hard Mode. I'm stuck on the Chapter 3 Boss and genuinely contemplating on throwing in the towel just to beat it and progress, or if I should continue to tough it out and try to go for perfect optimization. Also, if you're at least a little bit interested, I highly reccommend you check the soundtrack to the game. "His friends call him Spuder" "This one's stronger" and "Lost Sands" are incredible

@hannaclifford41162 ай бұрын
This is true - however the reason this game might’ve gone easier for him was because he didn’t really need to use his brain - struggles unreasonably with puzzles in games, and the second he has to use even a morsel of thought in a given situation he shuts down completely. When he got the homing shooter he only had to think about dodging at the end and even with that I would argue he’s still crap at it. It’s not even entirely a skill issue. Notice how the second an element of a boss requires him to think at all he starts blaming other things more like “glitches”.

I don't know what Phils death counter in this game was but he was definitely 'bad' at this game. Phil used the easy mode homing shot half the time. This is some Dark Souls level of utter failure right here. Does Phil break 200 deaths? Just imagine if the homing shot didn't exist and Phil actually had to aim.
@panthekirb75616 жыл бұрын
I didn't watch the whole thing but It's painful to know that not counting the 20-25 deaths caused by lag (the laptop I have to use these days is really bad but I only really lagged in the Devil fight), Phil died only a bit less than 100 times compared to me. I didn't use the homing shot at all in the entire game but I did use the triple shot a lot in the last parts of the game (almost all of world 3 and Hell). I secretly hope that his 186 deaths counter thing isn't legit and that he got more that weren't counted.

Phil vs. Grim Matchstick is such classic DSP. Atrocious reaction speed, every excuse under the sun, blaming the game for his own mistakes, sheer befuddlement in the face of video game mechanics that have existed throughout his entire life -- it's just fucking wonderful. It's like watching someone who's never played a game in his life, yet claims to be amazing at them, get exposed by the most trivial shit. Actually, it's even better than that: sometimes it's almost as if the person playing the game one second isn't the person complaining the next, because they exhibit such a detached understanding of what just happened, giving their fellow man the benefit of the doubt, they surely must be a disinterested bystander, or perhaps a lobotomy patient who no longer possesses spatial reasoning. 27:06 "This one's tough" after he jumped right to his death, zero attempt to clear the gap with an air dash 28:36 This one's interesting. Is he saying he can't dodge the fireballs unless he can tell they'll be jumpers the moment they walk on screen or does he not notice the massive stop, squat and grunt tell? I'm not sure which is worse. Could even be both. 29:08 I guess once a cloud goes past him, it becomes invisible to him. Does he have left side ataxia? He doesn't appear to when he gets a donation. 29:16 Tried to jump over the meteor before he processed where it was -- that's the game's fault, by the way. 31:31 Yeah, getting shot point blank sure is ridiculous when you're the one who controls how close you are to him, as he doesn't move... 33:45 It did not fire two at once. 33:57 "Okay, he tracks me before I'm even there." Proceeds to dodge all the others without even trying to...because they don't really track. 34:26 Jumps over the platform; blames the platform for not catching him. 34:52 Lets everyone know he STILL doesn't understand how the marching fireballs work after 15 deaths. Darn it, game, stop deceiving him! 35:51 After spending 20 seconds not shooting the boss at all, he watches dispassionately as his character collides with the boss's body. He dies, but you see, that's really the game's fault because the boss SHOULD have died in those 2 seconds he stood there immobile while shooting at him. Why didn't the boss die? Because the Moldenhauers are hacks, obviously. Learn 'em, Phil! Wait. Who did you boys consult for this game, Phil SPENCER? Maybe next time you'll ask a real professional. You can't just Google how many hit points Grim Matchsticks are supposed to have, you need the big guns; you need Dr. Phil. Not that one. This one. I mean DSP. A lot of people are named Phil, I'm just realizing. 37:00 This is ridiculous, but they are not. 37:15 I fucking love this moment. He's in the middle of the screen. The tail comes up mid-right. HE RUSHES PAST IT TO GET HIMSELF TRAPPED BETWEEN THE BOSS AND THE TAIL! "Where was I supposed to go," he says. How has he not gotten hit by a car? 37:31 "Random hit." No. Predictable hat. What a spectacle to behold.

He's still bitching about wireless controllers. I couldn't find any tests that didn't result in either no difference or the wireless one actually having less input lag. Bless the 0utsyder for bringing us yet another kwality TIHYDP.

Aaah precious fast forward through the intro gag. Never going to get tired of that. :)

Aside from the fuckery, I just can't get over how good this game is. It's one of those games that will keep being played over and over even when we have perfect life like VR

Phil has been such an inspiration for me. He taught us that no matter how hard we lose, you never rage quit. DSP deserves more views and donations. What?

That bit at 38:10 reminds me of Castle of Illusion, that had lots of toys and a similar upside down gimmick.

phil is at his very best when he’s spiraling (the devil). all the sudden the controller stops working, rng ramps up, game is out to get him, etc etc
@crestfallenspaniard70796 жыл бұрын
God, it was so sweet to se Phil rage against the dragon. For me, it was piss easy because i had the smokebomb (best item in the game) and the homing shot, allowing me to focus on dodging. Too bad Phil wasn't able to realize in later stages homing shot is ineffective because of other enemies on the stage.

Actually, the Lobber is the best weapon for Grim Matchstick because you'll still be able to hit him most of the time and you can actually hit him in his 2nd form

You know how Phil just sometimes starts going "Huh?... What? ... Wh-- huh? Huh?" I just wanna say to him, "Talk it out, honey. You're a Let's Player. Say what's on your mind."
@someshyguy6 жыл бұрын
Why did DSP pick the Homing shot for the final boss? Spread or charge would of worked better lol.
@mitu123Copper6 жыл бұрын
Yeah, beats me, like there's no need for that weapon when you're so close to the boss. Lobber and Roundabout would work as well.

An over difficult game like this looks good, but that DSP guy is trying to ruined it.

I'm literally stunned by the fact that DSP actually beat this game. I was expecting him to rage quit. xD
@garrickkthegreat17056 жыл бұрын
This is actually kinda enjoyable to watch him play because it seems like he is actually enjoying himself and not raging all the time and blaming the game and/or the devs for him dying. At least so far, I'm only 15 minutes into the video, idk if he starts that later.

You wasted NO time getting this out. Great work.

He's actually not bad at the game. He's not blaming the game nearly as much, and i only caught him hand-holding a few times, which is surprising because it's a hard game. Seems like our Philly might be growing up a little bit 😭

He is not the worst person I have seen playing this, but again, his attitude just drags everything down.

he really feels proud of himself when he unlocks an achievement, sad sad man child, the collect every coin bit, jesus 'im a bad gamer riiiiight??' holy shit, he collected the coins, those easy to grab coins on side scrolling levels, what a hero

I always get put off watching when I can tell he's obviously read a guide on something, it took me more than a single attempt until I managed to parry all three question marks that appear above the boss, but he just pulls it off flawlessly.

Oh I've been looking forward to this since he started bragging about beating it lol
@Ouroboros6196 жыл бұрын
It's like he thinks beating a game while being somewhat decent at it will make everyone forget all the other games he's terrible at.
@clarencetuurngait76286 жыл бұрын
"being somewhat decent" YEAH RIGHT ! 186 deaths !!! He beat crash bandicoot trilogy too and he died 200 - 300+ times per each game. Same thing with souls games, hundreds upon hundreds of deaths. He was terrible, he is always fucking terrible.
@Ouroboros6196 жыл бұрын
@Clarence Tuurngait Hey, he didn't throw a tantrum and ragequit it like Dishonored 2: DotO, or delete it like Injustice 2. With how bad Phil is getting lately, the bar has been further lowered, so I consider this trainwreck 'decent'
@shawn5765 жыл бұрын
He's actually doing pretty good at this game. He admits when he made a mistake, he learns from the mistake, and he eventually wins. Well done, Phil.

He did better than most streamers and he wasn't really salty
