Dang when I do picking on a manual station they still force us to pick even when the belt stops or get jammed. Same with a ARSAW station if we stop picking we get TOT.

I hate how nobody takes all the boxes and makes box castles while SLAM and/or the dock are fixing thier issues. Total waste of downstack. Tisk tisk....

Boxes are actually chose not for the item but for efficient packing in the truck and to fit together like Tetris!

Your trained to pack the item in the box it says. You cannot go down in size from what the screen tells you, you can only go up.

And chances are that one of those items is a broken set (ie, should be a set of three bottles of soap instead of one). As a slam operator (person who has to process the boxes that get kicked out for mistakes) I see it all the time. Yes, sometimes the system tells you to put it in an oversized box, but more often than not it’s that the person is not reading their screen. And the lack of dunnage/not enough dunnage make me cringe. A lot of things get kicked out for weight because the items shift around too much and it doesn’t get weighed properly. Then I have to open the box and weigh everything separately only to be told there was nothing wrong. In short…read your screen and use dunnage. Please. Lol

@@lauriearmstrong8761 ive been told to “read my screen” when i was a packer and that’s bad advice because it does not tell you how many there should be if its a broken set. Ive shown my manager and the quality people and its true it doesn’t tell you how many because it happened to me quite often.

The louder machine unrolls and cuts tape according to the box type and applies water to activate it’s adhesive. So satisfying when it works, but can be annoying asf if it has a bad jam 🙃 The sp00 (main barcode) stickers are on a machine that unrolls them and peels off the wax paper, but it isn’t super audible

You’re correct This station type is called AFE and deals with orders that have multiple items The more aptly named “pack singles” stations have slightly different box/mailer types, so I assume they have the ones you’re referring to I’ve only done AFE, but I think the singles stations are split into small, medium or large stations and have different boxes accordingly as well

Yes, at my warehouse the white and blue bags are in singles. In singles we have mix, smalls and smartpac. I am not trained in smart pac yet but that is the machines that have the white and blue bags. Its a huge machine and a huge roll of white and blue bags and the packers just scan and drop the item into the machine and some how it packs it.

A tape dispenser

A guy on my team doesn’t speak any English. Just Spanish. Put it on your app when you apply. There are people from all over at my building. When he has to communicate with someone who doesn’t speak Spanish he hands them his phone and they type in his translator app. No big deal.

Yes theirs number say 130 140 160 170 nd the tape measured is the letter on the lip of the box so say it’s a G tape you tap it on the machine & it prints the g tape

Yes and no if the item doesn’t fit in the box it tells you it will fit in you first check to see if the item is a master pack or not. If it’s correct you over ride the box in the system and box up accordingly.

Exactly and benifits you get used to standing for 10+ hours a day , and if you’re with the right people to talk to it’ll go quicker

@@kathleeny899 it's not that they just "don't like it".. recording inside any amazon facility without direct company consent is a major policy breach. Most of the time the outcome is termination.. I've see people fired on the spot for it.

@@joryan101 yep. That's why I said, "They dont like it" That's one of the first thing I learned when I started. In addition, I had my phone hanging (accidently) from my pocket and security said "You better not be filming." So, I guess I should have said, "They will fire your butt." To make it more clear 🙄
