Notes for myself: eat fewer carbs and focus on fatty meat, don't snack, lower inflammation by avoiding seed oils, avoid artificial sweeteners and sugars (including high fructose corn syrup), stop eating 3 hours before you go to bed (which helps activate fat burning hormones and will allow you to sleep better), Eat 1 tablespoon of MCTs every day (C8 is the most researched) and 1 tablespoon of apple cider vinegar (preferably 15-20 minutes before meals) , walk after your meals, get about 90 seconds per day of cold exposure in cold water (or cold air)

@@Appeal2Heavenmilk has some carbs so there this an insulin response. Low fat has more carbs. As a diabetic I can only occasionally drink a small amount of milk.

I did keto for a couple months. I lost about 12 lbs., also lost literally half my hair. I'm fasting 18 hours a day. I love it. Not a problem for me, I don't care for breakfast anyway. I've lost weight, and feel better than I have in years. I'm 67 years old. No two people get the same results. Two meals a day, I feel amazing. Haven't seen a doctor in years. If I'm sick, I don't know it. I feel great.

I'm on day 25 of a carnivore/ Ketovore diet, only meats, avoiding everything else. If you have aches and pains I'd recommend it as within days I'd lost 3/4 of my pains. As for restaurants and cafes here in Northern Ireland it's easy to get sausages eggs and bacon, maybe cooked in bad oils but still a lot better than I was eating!

Once you break the sugar/carbohydrate addiction it is a lot easier. Be prepared for the keto flu if you are older and have abused your metabolism for a long time like me. But being free from cravings makes it a lot easier. So glad you emphasized inflammatory seed oils. That makes such a difference.

Perfect timing. I eliminated sugar for 3 weeks, am lifting hard, hitting steps but my weight is barely budging. I've eaten only meat and fruit, but I may have to cut back on fruit (& honey) for a while plus cook my meats in butter instead of oil. It's crazy how slow the process is though so far because I'm on a deficit, doing a lot right. It's just SLOW.

Have you tried not looking at the scale and just pay attention to how your clothes fit and how your muscles are growing as fat is dissolving ? Muscle weighs more than fat, so the scale may not be the best way of checking yourself for improvement. 😊

Stop the fruit. It’s fructose for heavens sake and will throw your body clean out of ketosis. Fructose makes an immediate demand on the liver. Your fruit is forcing you to stay in glycosis. This makes the fats glycated and is super counter-productive.

You know that I am starting to believe that these diet restrictions are really based on where you live. I am from Trinidad. I went a bit more southward to Guyana for two weeks in 2007. Back then I was doing my regular eating routine and jogging. And when my friend's mother said, you need to do more than drink water for the heat...eat more carbs because the sun is going to *dry you up" (make you drop weight)...I was what silly thing she was talking about. Two weeks later I am 15 pounds lighter. Fruit, Sweet potato, ground provision, oats etc. are all part of a balanced diet. This protocol in the video must work for the colder countries. But to stay healthy and to keep your energy up, in the Caribbean, you need 4 servings of Staples, 2 servings of fruit, and 1 serving of legumes or Nuts. The Caribbean has 6 food groups. They call the others, Food from Animals (3 servings), Fats and Oils (1 serving), and Vegetables (2 servings).

Corn syrup and high-fructose corn syrup are two different products even though both products are made from corn starch. Regular corn syrup is 100% glucose yet high-fructose corn syrup has some of its glucose converted to fructose enzymatically. Tapioca syrup has a lower glycemic index than corn syrup. thanks for the info.

How can most people eat at 8am 12 and 6pm when many people commute 1 hour from work and have to start at 9am. People in Long Island or Jersey who work in NYC have a longer commute. People in California have even longer commutes. How does one accommodate the eating window 3 times a day? 6:30am 12 noon 7pm??

Once your body switches over to fat-burning, you will automatically start eating less meals because you will always feel full and satisfied...most people who follow a Carnivore or Keto lifestyle, end up eating One Meal Per Day, in a short period of time.

You don't have to eat at those exact hrs..Eat 3 times a day. Make some hard boil eggs and take it with you to work. Eat on the train..I use to when I commuted to the city.

Great video! I follow most of this but am vegetarian since 30 yrs. i do have pulses, pulse flour for breads and pasta and pancakes. I feel best when I make 100% meals at home.

I'm "almost" Vegetarian too. I eat very little meat, usually chicken..but meat disgusts me, I feel like I'm eating animals and their cadavre not food. I appreciate fish but it is extremely expensive here. I wonder if canned sardines etc are just as good (?) I'm going to try soja but I need to learn how to make it taste good. We always only eat home made meals here, unless we want to treat ourselves to restaurant, pizza etc, but I avoid going anywhere since I'm alone, plus it is very expensive. I guess if I were still living in the big city instead of a mountain village I would eat out more often just to be around people. I'm very sociable, but only like the merchants of this village. Therefore I spend 2-3 days at home instead of walking my minimum 10'000 steps daily. I'm working on my psyché 😅 Warm greetings from Swiss. Good luck 🍀

When you get into the protocol for a good long period of time, then you can add in pulses on a regular basis and it doesn’t matter. But it may take a while before you can add those in.

🛑 With all due respect, the bottom line to weight loss is "calories in vs calories out." It's simple math. I've recently lost 8 pounds doing absolutely nothing but eating less calories than what my body uses per day. If your body only needs 2000 calories to remain the same weight, simply don't eat more than 2000 calories per day and rest 500 - 700 calories less than 2000 of u want to lose weight. It's literally that Simple. Reputable studies have shown that a man who ate only 1200 Calories of only twinkies every day still lost significant amounts of weight. Why? *because he did NOT eat more than his 1200 calorie allowance*. I definitely don't recommend eating Twinkies all day but the science and math does not lie. the bottom line is Eat less calories than needed and the weight will fall off without having to work out. ❤

All calories are not the same, sugar calories burn much faster therefore spiking insulin and storing fat, protein calories require a lot of energy to break down

I ate a complete keto diet for 6 1/2 months. FEB. 6TH TO NOV 20TH. I lost 60 lbs. More weight loss than anything I have ever tried. I didn't count calories or grams of carbs or proteins. I didn't have too. The weight just came off. I am about to do it again. For my health

I don't recommend eating loads of sugar however, sugar does not inhibit Weight loss when it's eaten below a certain calorie amount. It simply makes it difficult for the eater to not eat as much. Science & math my friend.

I lost almost 100 lbs over a 2 year period, without even trying, then I got covid with double pneumonia, ended up in the hospital when I found out I was a diabetic & put on 2 insulin's daily. I gained over 50 lbs since being on my insulin & now I'm thinking, according to your video, to get off my insulin. I have been on a low carb diet for about a month but can't lose weight. I'm thinking that the insulin is the culprit here. I take olive oil, ACV & MCT daily but can't get my weight to go down.

Yes, fasting and zero/low carb raise stress hormones, adrenaline, and cortisol. Keto made me far more insulin resistant. Long term I'm better off increasing carbs and going the lower stress route.

What if your allergic to wheat or flour. What are good substitute carbs. I also have a dairy allergy. I get bloated, inflammation if I have pasta, breads, or dairy. Any advise. I can't use butter, mayonnaise, basically been advised to eat paleo diet. Still have sugar and carb cravings.

No, they will not. They cannot. Most restaurants don’t have saturated fats on hand, and they’re sure not going to run to the store to buy it just for you. Butter, you say? It’s expensive as fats go, so it’s confined to tiny containers for individual customers. Plus, most cooks have not been trained on how to cook with it. It’ll burn and then everything’s a mess, pans have to be scrubbed and the line comes to a screeching halt.

I always bring my own care package and that way I can be in control of what I use. I order everything with no oil on it and then I just add some olive oil over the top. And if you eat dairy, you could just bring your own real butter or ghee or yogurt.

most restaurants do not have the healthy fats so it's best to tell them to grill or bake your fish or meats - and not add anything to it. order whole foods, not fried, and dressings on the side so you have more control over what you eat.

Hey Ben, loving your content! I actually have been eating this way for over 6 months just doing my own research am slowly losing weight which I'm fine with. Just in regards to your info on inflammation, this is something I have been struggling with for a long time. I haven't eaten any of those oils in years, and yet my CRP is still relatively high. I've just started the apple cider vinegar and digestive enzymes in case I'm not digesting fats properly and that is causing the inflammation (as it has gone up since adding extra fat and protein). Is there any other hidden causes of inflammation that you know of, I'm getting nowhere with doctors? And any idea how long digestion would come back on line if that's it?

Have you looked into histamine intolerance? Google this to see symptoms and lists of foods that trigger inflammation. Best plan is to keep the foods that bother to a minimum unless you have serious sensitivity.

Yes, they think they are losing fat even though they are losing retained water. They are INCREASING their insulin resistance and will stall even at zero carbs eventually.

The only carbs I eat is sauerkraut, asparagus, and a little cheese, I only eat meat , real olive oil, fish, butter, ( I don't snack) I've been doing this for 2 years and I'm still fat and have very high blood sugar, my A1C has been at 6 very consistently, I get it checked every 3 months 😭 I walk over 10,000 steps everyday and lift weights..I just want to give up ....

Fast a 16/8 for 2 days then change to a 18/6. Keep changing every few days to keep your system not knowing what is next... Eat more watermelon and blueberries. No other carbs. I have done this for 30 days and went from 368 to 318 as of Friday. Just try this for a week. Drink more water then more water

This is good info and yes it works….BUT You need to decide this is your lifestyle and not a diet that you lose weight and then go back to your old eating habits. Because the weight WILL come back on AND you will be soooooo miserable.

Processed food and eating out is much more expensive. You can find a pound of grass fed organic ground beef for 6$. Eat a pound per day and 3 eggs per day. You can eat more than that of course but this is very satiating.

If you’re not buying breakfast cereals, bread, soda or bottled drinks, prepared foods, packaged foods, snacks, chips or cookies you can afford a whole lot more than you think. One bag of Doritos in my town is almost $5, cereal the same. Make your own bread you save up to $4 right there - assuming you want to still eat bread. The sugars are pricey so heavily limit them-they can be hard on the digestion anyway.
