Maybe we should contact our congress and demand that our money stay in the United States and not go overseas. Period.

Same here. My wife and I are making around $35 an hour each and still have no hopes of buying a house here in the piedmont area of NC. We both worked very hard to get where we are, and it's gotten us nowhere at all. We just want a normal 3br 2bt house with a basement and 5-10 acres of land. We can't even afford a single wide trailer on 1 acre, they go for $250k at 7% interest. So we are still renting.

Amen. Even with our house paid off and no consumer debt it seems to be a treading water situation on income/savings. At least in our area the cost of medical visits has exploded in past four years eating up a considerable percentage of our income. Property taxes and insurance rates have doubled also

So glad we own our home outright in Nocatee smartest thing we ever did was work towards paying that loan off completely! No vacations, no eating out just dump it all into paying it off faster to get out of the pinch later!
@stevethomas5209Ай бұрын
Absolutely ! People take it for granted. We're able to help out our son who got laid off. Having a home paid off is every mortgage holders responsibility. If you want to roll bojie instead of pay for your home you get what the world dishes out to you. Married 37 years we didn't have our first vacation for 10 years to pay principal on our home.

I turn 62 in a couple of weeks and have been mostly retired for about 3 years. Most of my net worth is in real estate, I own the home we currently live in and also a place on a lake, debt free and I also have no debt outside of that. That being said I'm worried do we have enough? I did not plan for pricing for everything to SKY ROCKET. Problem I see is the companies that provide what we are consuming now know us as consumers will keep buying even at the inflated prices so why should they reduce pricing? Also way less competition in things today to help drive down pricing. Plus we have bad and worse as choices for our next president.

I was shocked when a neighbor's house sold for $300K in 2020. Today, that home would be a steal at that price. Home buyers did this to themselves. I just put my mother's home on the market. There was a bidding war and it went over list. The lowest offer was from an investor. Even investors can't afford these prices. What I am seeing now is that all those people who purchased homes since covid regret it. When homes get too expensive for the average person, there will be a crash. A very similar thing happened in 2008. Homes were going up in price too fast and people then started to lose their jobs. FL is now blowing up due to insurance and condo fee issues. They may be the catalyst for the next housing crash.

This i believe has been going on since the beginning of covid and is continuing to get worse. Thanks for pointing it out Brant. I have been saying people are living from pay check to credit cards. Very sad. There paychecks were spent already the week or month before.

Brant, you are correct in everything you said but you didn't take it out all the way. I believe the result of all this could be violence in the streets. When it gets to the point people can't get enough to eat either because it is not available or their they simply can't afford it. I hope not but these are indeed scary times.

Brant, your pretty much dead on with your theory, I’m a born/raised Floridian that was fortunate enough to build my homes I’ve lived in. I don’t know how the typical middle class is gonna survive, my wife and I make a decent living but have been forced to cut back on everything do to the prices constantly rising.

"what is the government going to do for those companies? More bailouts." Bailouts = emit credit = higher deficit = more inflation Cycle of suck. Eventually adults need to inhabit the walls of Congress. But I think hell will see snow before that. It's almost like it's a plan to end up owning everything, but that makes me a conspiracy theorist

Here is the thing that I don't think they account for there just not enough Rich people or wealthy people to keep the system running maybe 3 % of the state popular is " above middle class " so if you can't allow the middle class to grow whos going to buy stuff and pay taxes , go on vacation go to restraunts whos going to buy all this crap and consume if you make the middle class now the lower class

Just tell it like it is. People refuse to live within their means, and they want instant gratification and the same level and lifestyle that they had four years ago. Unfortunately with this corrupt government and this ridiculous out of control, spending and inflation, you have to make decisions on what is important in your life versus what is a luxury. I have many people I work with that live paycheck to paycheck even though though they’re making a decent salary but their answer is well I like nice things so I don’t care I’m gonna spend the money. And yet they complain when the insurance on their house goes up or they have to spend $200 a week on food. But they also refused to cut back on the things that are not important. I would love to drive a new car, however they’re so damn expensive I refuse to spend the money. I also refused to go out to dinner because the cost is prohibitive. The service is mediocre and the value was not there. For other people, they just don’t care and they’ll put it on a credit card and they’ll go spend 3 to 400 a week going out to dinner 3 to 4 times a week and wonder why they don’t have any money at the end of the week.

I’ve been funding my fishing trips with Credit Cards. Just because I need our money to survive. Not what I want to do but sometimes survival requires you to do dumb stuff. Combined household income is like $115k a year before taxes, benefits, and retirement. Home ownership is looking more and more like a fairytale. The American Dream #America

You might know me from a fishing channel. Greedflation by big corporations post pandemic has crushed the middle class and even worse if you're poor. Quick question are you REP, DEM OR MAGA? What your saying sounds a little fatalistic. Why are you worried, you make more on Utube then the majority of your subscribers make at their jobs.
@MovingToTheGulfCoastАй бұрын
I’m not worried at all but I have a real estate business and I’m not going to lie to my potential customers and tell them everything is great in the market right now.
@spacecoastsurffishing1726Ай бұрын
You're diversified in your income stream. If real estate slows, you'll be fine. A warning of where you think the market may end up that's fine. People are going to buy or sell real estate in all markets. Greedflation and living outside one's means that's the problem! I live near Disney, there doesn't seem to be a lack of people spending money. The parks are hotels are full. Where's the money coming from? If it's credit cards that's on them! Remember the middle class is held reasonable for debt the rich have lawyers to clear them of responsibility. If you'd like to have a serious conversation, about fishing and finances come fish with me at the Space Coast! My background my surprise you!
