My school used these in a CS lab... and the cable organizer ripped out the floor when raising the desk :)

I work installing furniture and those alien tail cord concealers are the most unnecessary thing they have us add-on to a desk. Most people will have a power strip near that grommet hole because not all cords can reach the wall outlet

cable management is so much more difficult than youtubers make it seem for example: i need the micro usb cord that goes to my wireless mouse to have slack, in case i need to use while charging

I agree with the surge protector hack, the other snake thing for 1 cable is a dumb hack. Its way more prone to hurt you and pinch you than a single cable.
