Anyone working in EMS/Pre and Post emergency room, I think, develops some form of PTSD. I worked the ER/EMS for 22 years as well as ICU and the Recovery Room as an RN. I am retired now but there are still images and events I will take with me to my grave. People don’t realize how much you give of yourself to be able to take care of others. Truly a labor of love. Would I do it over again? Absolutely!

Retired nurse here too with a very similar work history. There are patients I still carry in my heart that I vividly remember. You know you can't save everyone , but that doesn't stop you from wishing you could. I loved what I did and would do it again, as well. Loved working with the police, EMT'S and Paramedics whose actions in the field gave life back to so many.

The loneliest a person can ever feel is often around other people. Being alone is a wonderful luxury to anyone who is self reliant and enjoys their own company. Many people need to be around others due to fear and insecurity imo.

Yes no doubt, that made me tear up, having lost the love of my 18 months ago, and my Dog 11 months ago, but I did get my 5th rescue dog a few months after losing my last fella, I hope they will all be there to greet me when my time comes.

Grief is yourself with a baseball bat, and a daily clubbing. Lost my mom 7 years ago; I visit her grave once a month w/ my 93yo dad. I still cry every time. And I still cry when Lee's name comes up; the senseless loss of it all. Max- wishing you and Occy PEACE, and quiet from the storm we call Life. SAFE travels.

Max. This episode was so heart warming and so.. healing in a way i wasn't expecting. I followed you and Lee, and her passing was so hard even for me as just a viewer. Listening to what you say, how you have grown and tackle life is so comforting, vitalising and hopeful. So many wise answers to tough questions, i strongly believe that you are where you are supposed to be, and i hope you and Occy will have several more years with each other still. I live on my own with 2 cats and I really enjoy it. Some family and friends think I'm lonely but I'm far from it. I have low times but they don't last very long. Glad you are in a good place and can't wait to see what you do next. Xx

New dad here, don't rush anything kids are a huge responsibility and you want a partner that has the same goals as you. My wife and I took 12 years before we married we didn't really want to rush, at the end of the day I'm glad we got married but also our life being situated was more important especially since we're not very religious.

Max, I started watching you after Lee's passing but get a pang in my heart when I hear you say her name. I know the depths of deep depression and have been to the point of wanting to leave this world. Luckily due to treatment I have not been there in a quite a while. You are an amazing person and am glad you are happy where you are in life. Occy is an amazing dog and I love seeing the two of you together ❣🐾🐾

You will never regret all the extra time you're spending with Occy. The pandemic and converting to a work from home setup allowed me to spend my two cats' golden years with them and it was such a special time. They're gone now, but I have so many extra memories that I wouldn't have had otherwise. Of course I wish there wasn't a pandemic, but when there's opportunity to take some good with the bad, take all the good you can get. Also, even though the Occster doesn't like cats I still think he's swell. :)

It's veey strange as it kept reoccurring in my suggested vids for a year, it wouldn't go away, then after a break up, I heard it and my, my, my. BIG shoutout and THANKS to everyone involved in the Ambulance Service . Having just had my life saved in the back of an ambulance I can't thank them enough for all that they do. You are so right in saying not to wait to do the things that you want to do in life . Things happen when you certainly aren't expecting it to happen and there is no time like the present to get into.... whatever. It's a great idea (if you haven't already done so), to write down the things you really want of your home and land adventure so that all those things are clearly defined. Then fold it up and tuck it somewhere special to you. And then just open to allow it to come to you. Never be like a dog with a bone about your wishes and dreams for that clingy energy keeps those things away. Follow your small still voice always and your going to be just fine. I subscribe to a couple dozen channels, sailing, van life and travel, if you have a new video up,I’ll always watch it first. You are 💯 authentic, that’s all you need. So many places I’ll never see but it is great through others eyes

Max, I have been watching your content since before covid came along. What I love about your channel is its real/raw and authentic. The reality of the mental health issues you address have given me a lot of insight in dealing with my son. You have come a long way, keep up the positive!!

You’re always such a joy to see. Our pets really are our lives; I have a cat just shy of 17 so I limit my travel because of him and! I never feel alone. I also agree that having a home base is grounding (forgive the pun), ocean and trees are my priorities; I have both. You’ll find your paradise, how could you not with your attitude? 🥰🥰🥰

I am an old Lesbian, and I seldom have friendships with young men. It just doesn’t happen. While we are not personal friends,I sincerely do enjoy getting to know a bit about you and your life. Truth is we share alot of interests and values…..And since my traveling days are over, your videos has been a great help to get through the pandemic… You are a sweet, dear fellow and I hope soon some sweet, dear woman scoops you and Occi up into her heart… I am not financially able to be a Patreon but I certainly send my best hopes and prayers for you and Occi always….Please continue to share your life with us, it helps so many in ways you have yet to understand….
