The fact that the realtor left and the owner came home and met you and learned about your dreams for this property and how you will respect it and continue like he did and the previous owner did is miraculous! The house including the outhouse is just amazing! I cannot wait to follow this journey and watch Occy roam around his beautiful property. My wife and I have lived in this part of the world for a bit over 40yrs. As far as the flooding we've always had high blocks away from the worst levels but have been cut off for a number of days. I'm sure you'll be able to use your common sense and have a generator and solar panels. You'll also need a pantry of rice, soya beans and dare I say it tinned fish and some tinned vegies for variety. Long life milks of your choice along with your preferred teas and coffees. Don't treat it as "if " you get flooded in but *when* it will happen. Always keep weather eye on BOM and don't go off the block if the forecast is for lots of rain. Have fun cause we sure have, all the very best young fella !

Max, I found my little bit of paradise 13 years ago. Every day I wonder at how lucky I got. Worth every penny. I'm a little more isolated than you are and guess what? I don't care. When you've been there awhile, you'll get to know which song belongs to which bird, where the snake hides, which frogs are friendly and what the deer like for a treat. Enjoy every minute.

Hey, welcome to Northern Rivers. We so need new people coming in because after the floods so many had to leave through no fault of their own. It's coming together and people seem to be quite resilient but there is a housing shortage in the towns and villages. It's gr8 that you have mains power to get you started. It is a hassle running a fuel generator, especially if you are running power tools.

My heart just melts for you Max. I can feel just how peaceful and quiet this land is. I was a Realtor once upon a time and I found that my clients often got the deal if I wrote a beautiful letter explaining why my Buyer should get the property out of other offers that were probably similar. You made a connection with the owner who I am sure didn't want to just give it up to anyone and that is the magic that helped make this dream come true. It's made me believe that my land is waiting for me when I am ready to build again.

Both for one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever seen, and because I can’t imagine anyone who deserves a place like this more than you and Occy. CONGRATS!! What a great place for Occy to settle in in his old age, his own land to settle in on. We couldn't be happier for the two of you!! It's the start of a whole new and different way of live, but you still have everything you love. You have the beach close by, nature and friends, including new friends, yet to come. So much new content from you and Occy to come. I can't wait to see how Occy gets along with the animals on the property.

I get it... and I'm soooo glad you waited for the right place and didn't give up just because the price was a little more than what you planned on. @@peachygal4153, well according to what Max said in the beginning of this video, it was a special date (which makes it around the 26th of March, because he says it’s closing the video that now it’s towards the Easter weekend) and that was the day he went to see the property. I know very well that date is a very sad date. It made me stop watching any Vlogs for many months after that 😭💔 But I believe Lee is watching over both Max, Occy, as well as Eamon & Bec, Van Wives and Lee’s family. And Eamon and Bec have uttered several times that Lee is around with them all the time. I therefore also think she is also have her spirit and her everlasting love for people with Max and Occy, and so many others she met during her lifetime ❤️❤️❤️

I was born in Lismore and I remember it so well, the surrounding areas, the beaches and yes the floods. Your property is absolutely beautiful and if you are in that area you have chosen well. Hi Max, been binge watching your adventures in Aussie land. I live pretty close to Mt Rainier in WA but I also love Australia and would move in a heartbeat if I could. I had a wonderful adventure in 1999 during my Aussie Summer driving from Brisbane to Adelaide over 20 days. I still wear my Seppelt hat I bought while visiting the Winery. Stayed overnight at their Bed and Breakfast. Lovely people but they've retired now. I'm thrilled for you and your new home base. It's my kind of place too. It has an unspoiled ambiance and I know you will care for the land as the other owners' before you have. I've told lots of people to check out your channel as it is REAL and the scenery you film is awesome. I miss driving the Great Ocean Road. It's still breath taking. Looking forward to seeing more of your new land. If you get to NZ, I'll be watching. Spent 10 days enjoying all of it driving top to bottom. No, I didn't swim from one island to the other. I was 50 then now I'm 78 but still love to travel in my Nomad Van. Hooray for senior citizens. Keep on vanning Max. Hugs to both of you, Woof.

Max you are the prefect person to be the new warden of this beautiful "nature reserve" property because you are such an environmentalist at heart 😊. I am SO happy for you and Occy..
