Hi!! Great idea Barry! Eveline, I am smiling from ear to ear. That is soooo much better than I could have ever imagined. I am so so glad I asked you what it looked like. Do your fruit trees produce fruit? Flowers!! Wonderful. A stream, sheep. The only cherry trees that I have seen are wild ones that don’t produce fruit. I would never ever ever go inside. Do you have any interesting mushrooms growing on your property? What is your weather like during the year? Now? It is so nice that there are only 57 people. I don’t know how long you have lived there, but you probably know everyone. Is there a school? Am I asking too many questions? So if you have trouble going to sleep you can just go count the sheep. It’s from the Broadway show ‘Dear Evan Hanson’. The character singing it has severe social anxiety, which might help the lyrics make more sense. :)

@@AmandaSmith-zr8mn Yes, so I've found out from other commenters, though Cher didn't write it. That was someone named (*if* I recall correctly) Diane Warren. Pentatonix has never been above using (and improving upon) someone else's song, and even Cher occasionally lucked onto a really good song. And right now, especially with the war in Ukraine and Putin threatening to go nuclear, this song is *extremely* timely. I'm nearly 70. I *remember* when school children were being told by their teachers to hide under their desks and put their arms over their heads if a nuclear bomb went off nearby - it was called "duck and cover," and it would have done *nothing* to actually protect the children. And right now, I'm very afraid that we're nearing that again. I find myself listening to _Prayers for This World_ repeatedly right now, clinging to it like a security blanket.

This song SHOULD have a Broadway feel to it. It is probably the most famous song from the hit Broadway show "Dear Evan Hansen". That show made Ben Platt a star and also won the Tony for best musical and Platt also won best actor. What I like about PTX performance of it is that they kept it more true to the original than they usually do, yet it still had the PTX stamp to it. Delighted you enjoyed it so much.

You always tend to underestimate what a Swiss pocket knife Scott actually is. He can go deep and take over the bass from Avi in Hallelujah, and he can go high almost matching Mitch, like he does in this song. All of them are insane, but people talk about Kevin‘s beatboxing, Mitch‘s counter tenor and Kirstie‘s fast vibrato - but no one ever comments Scott‘s insane range and versatility!

Kevin is literally the frame they build on actually, his percussion line is always done first, then Matt's bass. But Scotts voice is the support system that makes it all structurally safe for everyone else to do their parts, except of course when they hold it all down for him to go off.

16.- In order not to lose the thread of the story, my grandfather only went out to buy those things that we did not have by our own manufacture. Of course, rubber gloves for my grandmother, sugar, spices (the ones that couldn't be grown at home), fish, rice and the like. He put on his “Sunday” suit, double-breasted jacket, scrupulously combed his hair and approached the city walking slowly. As always, with few words, between pointing out what he wanted and saying the weight he needed, he finished soon. Outside of his comfort zone, he was like an elephant between glass. No, he wasn't made to socialize with the rest of humanity. He had not been born to be on cement and asphalt. I wasn't even comfortable coming to my house (a building, streets, concrete, cars…) so that happened very rarely. However, I remember one occasion (and I think only one) when I heard him laugh at something that had nothing to do with what usually made him happy.

It does seems to be that way. The more time I spend in nature the more foreign city/town life feels. The more belonging I feel in nature the less belonging I feel in the human constructed world with its rules and laws and yes, closed in buildings and concrete etc. My body is there but my heart is not. I think I may have shared some writing of mine here somewhere that expresses this very idea. Obviously I live very differently to your grandfather, but I feel a pull and an affinity towards people like that and that lifestyle. Everytime I read your writing, I am transported to a different place and time. I am there. Thank you! I have some wonderful memories of my grandfather as well and this is bringing some of that back. ❤

Incredible job by Scott and the whole group. Barry this is from the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen. It won multiple Tony awards for Best Musical and for Lead Actor, Ben Platt. "The musical opened on Broadway at the Music Box Theatre in December 2016, after the show's world premiere at the Arena Stage in Washington, D.C. in July 2015, and an Off-Broadway production at Second Stage Theatre from March to May 2016."

Any one who loves Scotts voice(like me) really need to go over to the scotthoying channel, and listen to Mars. Scott really blows it out of the water with Mars. Now for you Mr. Barry, you found another PTX song I have not heard. I'm glad it may be your favorite, but The Prayer is mine. There was a few goosebumps moments in this one though, I'll give you that.

I don't really have a plan yet, because it's been 10 years since I was in school they made me take English and Math(yuck) to see where I'm at I guess. Got through those. I take 3 online Lectures I have to sign into. Civics, Humanities and History. I got Civics out of the way, and will be tested on that course next week. I still have Humanities and History to complete and be tested on. Then a long talk with my counselor I should be able to decide which direction I want to go in. Something with History I think. So there I am. Don't tell Mr. Barry that I also think he is very, very cute. I love "Yanking his chain" by saying how really handsome I think the Home Free boys are. For some reason he keeps sending the 🚨after me. I keep breaking his T&C's 😂

This is very good! I had never heard of this song or the Broadway show people are posting it came from. I had ear buds in and went back and turned up the volume in the section that had such a nice bass to it. Love it! The lyrics are relatable as well. I can’t say I have a favorite, it depends on how I am feeling at the time.

There are a couple of great versions of the song (you are right - From Broadway musical "Dear Evan Hanson") and other songs from the show you might enjoy. I haven’t heard the original but I think I’ve heard of the musical because it was recently made into a movie and there was some discussion about the lead actors age (being too old for the character). Ho sempre pensato che questa cover sia stata un pò sottovalutata da gran parte del pubblico, personalmente l'ho sempre amata molto, insieme ad altre che, immeritatamente, non hanno riscosso il successo travolgente di "Hallelujah" o "Daft Punk". Io l'ho sempre trovata travolgente, ben eseguita (come tutti i pezzi di Pentatonix) e con un arrangiamento incredibile. Scott, poi, qui è pazzesco!

You should definitely react to Ben Platt's version from the Tonys! PTX will always deliver absolutely stunning renditions of previous songs, but I think Ben's performance is difficult to surpass especially when you add his acting on top of his musical talent.

I was late to the party, discovered Pentatonix about a month ago and dove down the rabbit hole head first. And at this point I'm past being amazed by them. Basically, I expect everything they do to be perfect, because _it always is._ So no, this song is not amazing (though from anyone else it would be). It's "just" very beautiful.

@@ItsmeBarry I'm doing ok I guess. I saw the pulmonologist on Friday. He was pleased about test results on my lungs after increasing one of my meds, but recommended I see my cardiologist. I knew he was going to say that. I think the heart condition I was first dealing with last July has gotten worse. Both of my parents had this, so I guess I have them to thank😬. How are you keeping? I've been watching/listening to your playlists. So many songs I've forgotten about, so I've been enjoying them. I just start a playlist and let it run, like leaving the radio on. Yesterday I had 23 hours of watch time🤪. I actually like having music and talking all the time. It's so quiet when you live alone. I used to turn on the 24-hour news, but with what's going on in my country and the world, not a good idea. Music is much better, so I say thank you to you! I think it's helping me fall asleep better. The community post you did was really nice, and it was great to see you visiting in the TS. You should pop in every now and then.👍 I feel so bad... I killed the Easter bunny. Last Saturday I was driving home at night. I was driving slow because that's the rule in our community and there are lots of deer that come out at night. This rabbit ran out of the wooded area next to the road, right in front of my car. I came back to check on him, but he was definitely dead in the road.😢 Hope you have a good week B☘.

The poor Easter bunny, that one of the worst things to happen as a driver, no one wants to end another creatures life for no reason. I heard of people hitting larger animals too it must be very traumatic.
