Holden has got me caught
I never ask for advice
He’s got a way of forcin it on you
But my heart’s as cold as ice
And i will not entertain
Even an ounce of anger
I’m happy with all my borrowed words
I won’t ever return
And this is not my song
And these are not my words
I borrowed the guitar
And stole all the chords
And these are not my feelings
In fact they’re age old
I learned ‘em from a place
But mainly they’re stole
Stolen by me
Lord I’ve stolen a girl
But it’s like stealing a mountain
I’ve got no place to put it
And no hope to climb it
I cannot succeed
I cannot catch and release
I said ‘man, please take her back’
And he said
‘You’ve sown, now you will reap’
I found a true love
Surely she’s ideal
She was once my friends
But I made a steal
And she loves like a rock
And she’s heavy as a stone
But it’s better than drugs
And being alone
And this is not my song
And these are not my words
I borrowed the guitar
And stole all the chords
And these are not my feelings
In fact they’re age old
I learned ‘em from a place
But mainly they’re stole
Stolen by me.

With your last sentence, you perfectly encapsulated music and why it’s a universal language. Something that started as an emotion, a sentiment, or a random thought for the artist is able to mean something totally different for the listener.

God bless you and keep your peace Jesse and sing to them the wickedness that the world is in. Remember though to sing about the other parts such as hope and purpose being found in nature and the world with what is left in its purity. We as a people are waking up, and you are expediting the wakeup process for so many more. Stay away from the studios so you can sing free-reign about these things that so many of us see and yet can't make a change. Even though we haven't met, I love ya dude, and want the best for you! God bless and keep on rocking in the woods. ❤
