@@brettstalling2269 at the end of the day this freestyle isn’t a record nor will it sell on the market, black thought only had a couple polished records like “you know me” with the roots. A successful rapper or in this case “actual rapper” is someone who balances all the components of rap from word play flow message etc etc combined into a modern digestible style which sells a lot more than the old school style. Of course both styles are great to listen to but to dismiss the new gen and call this “actual rap” ain’t it

Black Thought has been NICE like this for 30 years. I HIGHLY suggest you at the very least listen to Do You Want More??, Illadelph Halflife, Things Fall Apart and The Tipping Point ablums from The Roots. This freestyle was a MASTERCLASS of the peak of hip-hop.

It might make the vid a little longer, but when you pause to acknowledge a bar, you should go 5 or 10 seconds back, because you might pause in the middle of a scheme, and might miss a line or 2. Much love man, just trying to give a few "tips" I guess lmaoo. I recommend Locksmith's freestyle on sway 45 with Kay slay in 2019. One of the best freestyles for sure.
