I love this knife, but I was super confused when it didn't button open, haha! It's still fidgety as all get out and has a great sound factor as well.

I have been singing praise of this button lock since I got it two weeks ago.

I think this is an underestimation of new users. Button locks are pretty simple; they're not difficult and not that scary. What makes this detented button lock promising is that for some it enhances the action. A lot of knife people prefer a more controlled "hydraulic" drop that you get from a well tuned detent on a smooth track. The free swinging drop on just a bearing pivot doesn't have the same tuned up feel, and is frankly a very easy action to create. People of course also often prefer the feeling of popping open a good crisp detent. There are reasons why framelock type knives are still pretty much king in the high end folding knife game, and crisp detent and smooth hydraulic drop are two pretty big ones. In fact I'll make my own underestimation of knife newbies and say that they would probably prefer typical button locks because they're simple and fun. They don't yet have a refined taste for a well tuned detent and more elegant drop action. 🧐😆

Thanks for introducing this model. I have several button locks and I would actually prefer the Remette design - it would preclude an overly zealous LEO from deeming this model a gravity knife in any jurisdiction that prohibits such knives, whereas there’s no assurance that the usual button lock design, which allows the blade to fall out of the handle when the button is pressed, won’t be regarded as a gravity knife. BTW, is the detent ball on the Remette model ceramic?

Once you're comfortable with different knife actions, it can be easy to forget what it was like to be a "new user." This was a good reminder for me. Blade Show West is coming up. I remember feeling like an idiot my first time going. I'll keep that in mind and watch for the newbies this time around.

I got into button locks this year. Found it super easy. But I've been handling folding knives over the last 13 years. I think button locks are maybe too easy to operate!

I just purchased Kaizer Escort and I had to adjust Omege springs way low and I still can't use the right side of the lock just the left side to engage the locking system first and last time purchase this lock 😮

I just got this knife. They resigned the button lock. It acts like any other button lock. I love this knife and got it for a killer deal on Amazon.

It's a button lock without the fun factor,which makes it just a tool for the job and save for hard labor tasks. My Boker even being a liner lock,has that same detent feature and still goes to this day. If you want the fun stuff,just grind that liner detent/safety and your good to go. And no i won't do that,cuz it's cringe AF,at least on my age.
