Witness a truly unique spectacle at the St. Pauli-Landungsbrücken in Hamburg as two magnificent cruise ships are docked side by side at the historic Blohm+Voss shipyard's Dry Dock Elbe 17. This captivating timelapse video showcases the extraordinary moment when the 192-meter-long MS "Amadea" entered the dock, followed by the 205-meter-long MS "Albatros."
With each ship from Phoenix Reisen measuring approximately 25 meters in width and the dock itself spanning 59 meters, the maneuver to dock both vessels posed a significant challenge. However, with the expertise of harbor pilots Alexander Rinke and Klaus Vorwerk, along with the assistance of three tugboats and additional fenders, the docking of the "Albatros" was successfully accomplished without major issues. Both ships remained in the dock from mid of November to mid December 2009. Notably, the MS "Amadea" underwent renovations, including the installation of new suites on Deck 10.
