Bought the Espresso a few months ago and it has grown on me so much, I just ordered the Dark Night (Batman). I own a Sub and and an Explorer II and Jack gets just as much wrist time. Phenomenal quality. Big fan!

Have the Pepsi bezel version GMT. It was the first 9075 movement I could get hold of. Since then there are several others released in various guises.

True, but I honestly love the Strat-o-timer the most. I own the Dark Night and absolutely love it; it's the most comfortable watch I've ever owned and it's accurate as all get out, too, at +4spd.

Rotating the jump hour twice changes the date too, just like on the Rolex GMT MASTER II

Man, the Stratotimer is the best looking American watch! Absolutely gorgeous. At 40mm it may be too large for my puny 6.5" wrists, but I hope I can try one on someday.

My wrist is the same size as yours and it looks great - I haven't taken it off since receiving it three months ago and, like you, bought it sight unseen. I couldn't be happier and encourage you to go for it - you could always return it but I'll bet my dog's life you'll be keeping it. I freaking love it and so do many others. Heck, I just noticed the Dark Night (the one I own) is out of stock at the moment; however, they still have the two other colorways available.

I guarantee it'll fit you perfectly. My wrist is the exact same size and my Strat-o-timer (dark night) fits so well and is incredibly comfortable - seriously, there are times when I forget I'm even wearing a watch. I've never owned a watch as comfortable as this one (I've owned a bluesy, Breitling Avenger 2 Seawolf, Sea-dweller, G.P. Seahawk To John Harrison, Sinn Arktis 203, a Tudor Tiger Prince date and many others - the J. Mason wears the best - haven't taken it off yet).

Very nice domestic designed watch. Easy adjust is nice - not adjust on the fly - but better than 90% of the bracelets from other brands.

Thats a difficult choice. They are GMTs but different case dimensions. This one wears well for me, I have limited experience with the Tudor. I have only owned a BB58.

Man, I have owned the Dark Night Strat-o-timer for a few months now and it's a fantastic watch. Personally, I would choose your favorite colorway of the Strat-o-timer and just go for it. I bought it sight unseen, too, and its quality and accuracy have far surpassed my expectations. Also, Jack Mason has a lifetime warranty for all their watches to be free from any manufacturer defect. They also regulate them in multiple positions within +/-5spd; mine is +2 with a. 03 beat error. The owners couldn't be nicer and have been a pleasure from the beginning. The Tudor is lovely, too, albeit a lot more common. The quality and fit and finish - coupled with the incredibly comfortable, solid seven link jubilee make this one of the most comfortable and satisfying watches I've ever owned. I apologize for the long post but this watch's quality is on par with those 5X the price.

I can see the similarities in the case shape, good point. I remember seeing that GMT, I need to look into the timings because I feel like the stratotimer was released before ten Devil diver GMT.

I had the same observation. I don't know whether the Citizen group makes the case for this particular Jack Mason watch or not, but it would make sense if they did. Citizen owns Bulova and Miyota, which is where Jack Mason gets these movements from. Maybe it's a combo deal…

The non quick set date is a nightmare i have a vintage Datejust without it i wouldn't buy another watch without it . Great looking watch. 👍

True, that it does not have a quickset date, but it’s no different than the current Rolex GMT Master II, where you turn the jump hour twice past the 12 and the date changes. It takes less than 3 minutes to change the date if not worn for. Few weeks.

I'll never buy a traveller GMT piece. It's caller GMT all the way for me. I'd only buy a traveller if it was my only watch, or if I had a winder, which I can't be bothered with. Also the glidelock system is inferior to a ratcheting system like on formex, c.ward and others. The problem with glidelock is if you catch the end of the clasp on something it flicks the clasp open and then the glidelock slides to full wide. It's terrible. The Rolex submariner is the most famous glidelock watch, but given that the Rolex sub has glidelock and dull grey platiunum-filled bezel markers, these things certify it as good only for desk diving. I would take caller GMT and a ratchet OTF clasp like on a C.Ward every day of the week over flyer GMT and glidelock.

I see you mentioned this in another comment. I just don’t agree about the glidelock from my experience. They snap into place once the right position has been found and ‘lock in’. It only ‘unlocks’ at a 90-degree angle. I can’t see a scenario where you would catch the bracelets on your wrist and it slips back a notch. Also, the submariner was one of the few watches that was actually used as a commercial dive watch. The Divers at COMEX relied on them as tools for their jobs. Most people wear them out of the water but that doesn’t mean they are not a proper dive watch. I appreciate all the comments you leave but they all seem to be personal feelings on watches as opposed to fact.
