surge pre-grab immunity was the most dogshit thing ever, they can punish you with ranged moves outside of surge range, they can punish u with grabs in close range, it made it DOOKIE current surge with grab immunity is balanced, its easy to walk out of its range and it deals okay damage

u can just make it where it become a ball then if it hits the target it will turn into arrows and start tracking them the max arrows is 5 and can be destroyed by explosion spell or big aoe ball move

You can still grab a mage who is using surge if you put your rushdown hits to 1, i do it all the time and players are asking me how i do it. I JUST DO IT LOL

You could argue that for any type of move, "javelin doesn't sound right as a projectile, that's blasts job". With dozens of spells (not yet) in the game there's bound to be some overlap

Surge is only good at like the lower ranks of PvP. When it's at hIgh skill fights where people usually only have attack speed as their alt stat, they can just dash backwards once and instantly punish them with blast beam combo.

6:22 I think this is a horrible idea, what "get off me tool" should have drop off damage and be counterable? It makes you punishable for using it to try and get someone to make distance between you 6:48 This literally confirms what I was saying before, you want people to get punished for using surge at close range. That literally makes it a ranged dps option, not a get off me tool

Close range dps skill that you hold = garbage without grab immunity The reason surge is problematic right now isn't really because of its grab immunity it's bugs and low frame data

Cause most of the balance team are mages who apparently don’t actually play the game. With the range on surge, giving it grab immunity just made it a braindead spray and pray move Mages nor any other class should not just be able to get free damage at the press of a button like that

The team is still balancing things completely wrong no matter what is done, and Vetex and the testers and the balancing team need to be tought how to properly balance a game that has a primary focus on PvE with a bonus of PvP. Seriously people are WAY of course in how to do all of this and it is infuriating. Many of he so-called "right thing to do" situations are done with the wrong mindset, and what is worse is the loudmouth PvP obsessed players are making it even worse, making the team focus way to much on PvP, ignoring how all the changes will effect the game as a whole. Lern how to properly adjust for both PvE and PvE, period, no buts, this is something that every game with any case of both PvE and PvP need to learn, they just refuse to because of their hubris.
