My home office has some very unique prefab home designs. I've been following my home office on instagram for a while now and it seems like they're shifting their focus to dwellings. I've noticed an evolution of some companies who started in the accessory space or home office world but have gradually been increasing their offering to include more prefab dwellings, something it seems like a lot of people are looking for. Pretty cool looking. When it comes to small homes, dollar for dollar, Lancaster Log Cabins can’t be beat. The nicest 400 sq ft model is around $74k and they are easily transportable.

Ha, My Home Office is what they ostensibly call it, but we all know it's Get Away From The Significant Other & Brats. The 2.0, it's better than the dog house. That double lodge is really nice! The separate crapper is very French. Thanks for sharing Kerry!

The double lodge 2 bdrm is my favorite of all the prefabs, so far. Love the look and the layout. Hope to see these make there way to the US 🙏

Agreed the double lodge is a case where the sum is greater than the parts. The glass walkway between the bedroom and public spaces adds plenty of design punch. Love it.

I think having the toilet separate is good thinking. The 44 m2 would be nice if they could do the separate toilet, I would like the shed planted roof on the single bed model. I may have to actually go look at this site, Kerry! { LOL I finally decided to check your description area! The double lodge design is preferable for me! Since this design is not common among available prefab ADU's or primary home companies in the US, I would love to see an estimate on someone panelizing a home, say in their expansive barn or 4 car garage. Also how construction codes may impact such an operation. I know Etsy has stick built home designs for sale but I haven't seen panelized/prefab types. Thanks for another cool video!

City of Los Angeles Building Codes now tend to favor ADUs not offices. Many people here build ADUs for offices or additional square footage. After getting a Cert of Occupancy, , the people remove the kitchen that they dont need, but had to have for the ADU

I always question the the pros & cons of a separate toilet in floor plans, then I realise that’s exactly what I’m using every day without giving it a thought! Anyway, frees the toilet up when someone else is using the shower. Ideally there’d be a small basin in there.

I like the angled roof. Probably easier to clean and less water leaking thru. Probably also less noisy more aerodynamic during rainy days. Good look on the house with BIG windows too. A little far away in the Netherlands but it would be a rich persons ADU so wth. Good post. Cheers 💜

I've heard forensic building scientists say that "the very best window makes a really lousy wall" so in a very small house replacing an R20-30 wall with an R3-5 windows means that a lot of your valuable heat is radiating out through the glass. Maybe small home builders should use less glass so it's not so difficult to keep the interior heated.

I currently have a MYP and I don’t bother rotating my tires. I’ve owned many cars with staggered setups and I can tell you my experience has been that rotating gains very little in tire life unless you’re willing to unmount tires every other rotation. Alignment is far more crucial!

I think separating the bathroom into two functional rooms is better...even if you are solo, it would be nice to not have to shower in the same space where you just "cracked rats"...

European pre-fab builders seem never to include laundry facilities. Must be a cultural thing.

Our homes are not very big and builders concentrate on getting as much out of the plot - usually bedrooms - as they can. A dedicated laundry room is not a thing and washing machines/dryers go in the kitchen, although when I renovated a previous home, I had the washing machine put in the bathroom.
