This is THE WORST product Instant Pot has ever made. Why the Instant Omni Pro is a Complete FAILURE

The Instant Pot Omni pro could have been a great air fryer oven. instead, it is a complete FAILURE.
The lack of proper product testing leads to bringing an item to market that doesn't do what it says it's going to do.
That, and a lack of customer service in the form of recipes and instructions, leads to a very expensive mistake.
The Coconut Shrimp recipe in the includes recipe book is good. Just be sure to spray the shrimp with oil before you air fry them. Here's the recipe
1 pound of large shrimp
peeked and deveined
1 egg
3/4 cup of coconut milk
1/2 cup of all-purpose flour
1/2 cup of panko breadcrumbs
1 cup unsweetened shredded coconut
1 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of paprika
1 teaspoon of garlic powder
Spray with a little vegetable oil before air frying
Cook at 370 degrees for 9 to 12 minutes

Great video! Thank you Chef Overton for giving the facts and demonstrating appliances, versus so many who rave and praise subpar appliances. I also think that even if you’d tied and trussed that bird like 50 Shades of Grey.. it STILL would Not have turned properly. I totally agree with you as the dimensions of this oven are too small for any rotisserie beyond maybe Cornish Game Hens! My main dislike for this oven is the huge controls taking up almost 1/3 of the height. Anyway, Love your coconut shrimp recipe, I’m definitely trying that soon. Your roasted chicken looked tasty too. Thank you for this fair and honest review. I appreciate you Chef and thank you for the time you spend keeping us informed. ❤️

You hit the nail on the head! There's no way you should have to be a professional butcher to tie a chicken up for dinner at home. This appliance is just not capable of cooking even a small chicken on the rotisserie. Maybe a Cornish game hen would work LOL! Thanks so much for watching

Great Video. I LOVE my Instant Omni Plus 11 in 1 oven, and I mean LOVE it!!! I haven't used my oven in soo long (between me using the Omni Plus and IP). It's my lifesaver.

Quite a versatile appliance, but since it doesn’t perform well in every function I’d have to pass. Maybe their rotisserie is designed for Cornish hens 😂 The best rotisserie I’ve ever used was the old reliable Showtime “set-it-and-forget-it” rotisserie oven. Whether I did a single chicken or two birds side by side, the results were consistently great. These days it’s easier (and just as economical) to pick up a rotisserie chicken from Sam’s Club. And as much as I liked Instant Pot products, I’ve switched to Ninja and never regretted it. Thanks for another unbiased review. You’ve saved me a lot of money!

That Showtime oven sounds fantastic! I like picking up a rotisserie chicken from the grocery store (it's usually cheaper than buying a raw chicken) but there's nothing like the taste of homemade! Thanks so much for watching!

The Showtime was too time consuming to clean for me. Many convection roasters are a good choice in comparison. I can wait until this is perfected.

Wow! Great review! That was so helpful to me in my search for an air fryer toaster oven combo product. Instant Pot company should watch your video, looks like they have some room for improvement.

BIGGEST waste of money I have ever spent in my life. The touch screen breaks after a year. Instant refused to replace my air fryer when it broke 3 weeks after the warranty expired! What a joke!

Hi there, this is my first visit to your site, and I would like to compliment you on a fine review. I thought you were thorough & fair. Excellent job. I am looking for a toaster oven type unit which will hold to the correct temperature. I rent a great studio unit however because it is not zoned for a duplex, not wanting to break the law, there is no stove. Everything else even double sinks & disposal. This is CA, and a free standing stove requires duplex zoning. All else in a kitchen is legal. Difficult to find a counter top baking unit with an accurate oven. I feel if a tenant likes to bake, she should have an oven to do it with an accurate thermastat.

Found this video when looking for insturctions on how to operate my Omni Plus (which is similar to the Pro, only it has a dial as opposed to be 100% digital). I highly agree with your opinion that the instructions are minimal at best. I don't think I ever got an instruction booklet with mine, although I can find it online. I've had mine for months and all I've use it for is to bake chicken and heat up a pizza--mostly because I havne't had the time to go hunting for specifics. Thanks to this review, I'll pass on using it as a rotisserie (which is not why I bought it anyway. I think even if I cut off the wings, the grease will splatter everythwere. Thanks for an honest review.

I should have known to just come to your channel honey about this product . The wire rack seems like it would be a pain in the butt to clean . Probably have to take the wigs off or pull them closer to the body off to the side . What a pain . BTW Thanks hun so much for showing this and making this video . They should sell these in Europe. OK, so they're HUGE appliances but then so is an oven but if you haven't got or can't afford one then this might be a 2nd best alternative? And we have smaller chickens here too!

I had an upright rotisserie and did great chicken. I bought a Hamilton Beach oven like this with a rotisserie function and have never bothered to use it. Now I know why.

Thanks for the video to call it the worst I taught was a it over the top as the oven performed well just the chicken needed to be smaller and the other method worked very well I taught by the title everything you made failed I move the display and the compact size of it and any recipe for any other oven air fryer like ninja can be used so it’s not a big deal . By the way am a big fan keep killing it 🎉❤

Yes, it may be over the top but I do feel it's the worst because it doesn't do what it claims to do. The rotisserie is useless and clearly untested. They should have left it off completely. I also feel that bringing a product to market without a thorough guide with recipes to use it is a disservice to the customers. Thanks for watching!

this pile only lasted about a year and a half of use - then the electronics IE the touch screens failed on the timer portion and makes it unusable. Instapot only gives a 1 year warranty on this POS.

It seems difficult to get the home rotisserie system right. Another viewer really liked the Showtime rotisserie but I haven't used it. I'm not sure if it's still in production. Thanks for watching!

Wow! How disappointing. We have the original Instant Omni Plus, and the rotisserie works much better. It looks like they've made the oven shorter than it used to be - how frustrating!

Hi David! I think you're right, Instant Home seems to have made the interior if the Omni Pro shorter than both the Omni Plus and the Vortex. I'm so disappointed in it. Otherwise, the oven works well. The timer button on mine stopped working add or decrease. Did a reset and now the cooking temperature buttons don't work

@@ge2660 you hold the cancdl button three seconds and it factory resets with a beep. Insta won't replace it because it's past 12 month they claim it's not fixable either and sensor is bad. Offered me 40% off a new one not worth because.of shelves issue and no knob sensor can go anytime

@@christylove5807 think you hold the cancel button for five seconds.. regardless my unit js worthless now insta says the sensor is bad and can't be replaced out of warranty. I can let it run default temps and it randomly shuts off. Great low use condition but no life to unit with digital sensors

I bought my Omni Pro over a year ago. Have used it nearly every day since out of necessity. Unfortunately about 6 months ago the control panel stopped listening to me. It won't let me adjust temp and time. Thankfully it's parked at a temp I can't work with and I just have to keep a closer eye on it time-wise which is a pain. I bought this oven to utilise ALL its features, yet about only half were truly useful and now that it's not functioning as it should, well... 🙄 Tried rotisserie within the first week. Should have returned the product right then. This could have been such an amazing tool! I hope someone is devising something more operable and affordable.

Be careful I was in your situation and when I did the factory reset I lost all control. I would rather have the set temp and watch timer than no control at all

That is big. The inside is to small. Doesn’t even cook a small chicken. Better luck next time.

I agree, Craig. The oven is large on the outside but the inside is oddly small. Especially if the manufacturer intends for it to accommodate a spinning chicken. Poor design. Thanks so much for watching

The problem with your rotisseri is you did not truss it well enough. I've done this in my Vortex and you have to truss it really tight like they do at Sam's or Walmart.

I've used the rotisserie in the Vortex oven as well (there is a video here on my channel) and it works better than the Omni Pro oven for rotisserie. Trussing isn't the problem, the chicken drags along the bottom because the interior of the oven is simply too small to accommodate even a very small chicken. Instant Pot did a poor job with this one

@@sweetsavant If a 3 lb chicken won't work on that rotisserie what would? Perhaps a 1 pound Cornish hen. LOL! You can tie that chicken down like its in prison, its still going to hit the top and heating element.

Until you learn to truss a bird properly you should not rotisserie anything larger than Cornish Hen.

This oven is just not big enough to accommodate a small chicken. It's that simple. It hits the bottom Pan knocking it off the track. It just doesn't work.

It’s almost like knowing how to use something helps you use it correctly. You have to fold the wings into itself. Pretty simple. Also, the door shows you where to place your cooking racks. Pizza should be place in the bake section and not so close to the cooking element. 🤦🏻‍♂️

WOW you're right. It's almost as if knowing how ti use something helps you use it correctly which is why the Instant Home company should include instructions on how to use the items they are charging hundreds of dollars for. Typical boomer KZfaqr that takes item out of the box and “reviews” with out doing any in-depth research, or at least reading the instruction manual. You need to compress the bird together tightly, a 3-4 pound bird will most certainly work if done properly, not one that flips around.. enough to snag things because their not in place. And the pizza was clearly too close to the top element.
