Clearly both Janis & Dimash are working from the same 'songbook'. * She also had some wise words - that may benefit Dimash - about what she's learned over the decades of navigating the ebbs and flows of fame and how to preserve her 'self' - her privacy her sanity. How to maintain a healthy separation between the performer and the person, to preserve her energies to create, to appreciate and manage the demands of fans, and how to 'shapeshift' between these roles with grace and dignity. She also said something that I think may resonate strongly with Dimash. When asked what was the most important part of writing; whether songwriting or any other kind of writing, she paused and replied; 'The spaces between the words are more important than the words themselves.' By this she means; this is where the listener / the reader connects, emotionally engages, self identifies, interprets and places themselves within the story. We see Dimash also having a very acute understanding of this process, doing this very intentionally during his performances; in his use of timing, of building anticipation, of pauses, the placement of spaces between the notes. Je suis d'accord avec cette description de Dimash, il ne se sert pas de la chanson pour montrer son talent, il met son talent au service de la chanson et il la fait vivre par elle-même. C'est parce que c'est son objectif premier que sa voix devient unique, et d'ailleurs on ne doit même pas l'écouter sur le plan de la perfection technique mais sur le plan de l'émotion. Même pendant les répétitions, dans le va et vient des techniciens sur la scène et le bruit des appareils qu'ils mettent en place, il chante comme s'il était en spectacle, avec toute son âme.
