I was a bit concerned about what eagles fans were saying about him. I agree on BJFs point that if he was content to play out his contract, he would have just stayed with the eagles. We are likely in a standoff. Otherwise there would be a public statement like Rodgers.

Its w/e for me. Reddick is a hired gun for 1 year for me and a safeguard if mcdonald doesn't take the huge leap we think he will. Ideally will mac does take that leap, and Reddick plays around 55 60 % of snaps. Hes not a guy I want to give a long term deal to, maybe a 3 year with 2 guaranteed but nothing more.

I get that Rodgers doesn't need mini camp but it's not nothing. The Jets should have excused the absence- especially because Rodger has done everything by showing up to voluntary workouts. We heard of problems with Rodgers ego rubbing people the wrong way and here the Jets decided to publicly criticize Rodgers. The only thing that makes sense is Rodger was doing some fundraiser for JFK Jr and the Jets didn't want that blowback. The other thing I find astounding is that people getting paid millions of dollars can just blow off obligations and people line up to defend poor behavior as though it's normal. Lastly I don't blame Reddick for holding out- he's got a small window for generational money. Stepping on the field and getting hurt now could cost him like $50 million dollars.

Maybe they agreed not to negotiate on an extension but did agree to rework some of that money remaining on the contract to make it guaranteed. Maybe his agent convinced him he needs to hold out to get a new contract because obviously there's a monetary incentive for the agent to get Reddick the biggest contract possible. Maybe his agent told him if he gets hurt this year no one is signing him to a huge deal when he's 31 and coming off an injured season. Maybe he saw that Danielle Hunter got a 2-year, $49M contract with $48M guaranteed by the Texans and thought to himself that he's just as productive and the same age so why can't he get a deal like that. There's gotta be more to it.

Reddick is a drama queen and quite frankly the locker room distraction and the malcontent attitude because he's not getting his way is simply not worth it. I don't care how talented he is.
