Stardust, ironically, is one of the effects that only works on an ASSURED effect, instead of a possibility from an effect. Example: Royal Oppression can negate and destroy Lightsworn Mill because there is a Posibility of a Special Summon, but because Gambler of Legend, and other effects that require chance to do something, does not Guarantee that it will happen, and the effect happens upon resolution, it cannot work.

That's also apllied to the Flower Cardian Main Monster who only destroys a monster on your opponent's field, if it draws a Flower Cardian monster.

That's really obtuse tbh it's like saying that Ash Blossom doesn't work on Master Cerberus because the effect is to destroy itself and pulling a mythical beast from the deck is just the resolution the semantics in the rulings are completely arbitrary
