Small form factor cases are all the rage in our dual work-from-home setups. Did a mini-ITX build (Hyte Revolt 3) for my wife. I scored an incredible deal on an open-box MSI Z790 Edge TI motherboard, so for me, I went with the Jonsbo D41, which is almost the exact same size as the Asus AP201 despite being a full ATX case. Form/function over fashion for us.

Deskmeet x300 is a SFF case that basically comes preinstalled with a power supply, and motherboard that can fit cards up to 7.8 inches in length the case is $189 but it includes the two things I listed I found it the easiest way to get into SFF/mini PC cases and save a bunch of room.

That gigabyte board is GOAT. For rock solid reliability in a hot itx. I bought one for a 5800x and it gets crazy hot in there. Still going strong.

Mine is 5600x / 3080 ventus .. and it can handle everything at 1440p . My best itx case ever .

An ante rule just like in the yugioh wagering something double or nothing, I definitely agree itx is under appreciated when Ed does the builds they are always fun to build, and always have the best experience from that specific Micro Center. Already did my build Am5 Asrock X670E SL, Seagate 530 2tb for boot, Intel Arc A750 (Later switched to 7600XT SL) as the gpu experienced some issues with perfomance tuning, and glad that I made the switch from Intel to AMD RX.

SFF is getting really good. I would love to see you take on a high power ITX build at some. Challenging space and temperature constraints overcome and for a PC the size of a shoe box.

I would never ever spend that much money on a PC case. It's ridiculous.

The DeepCool CH160 is pretty great for the price!

I’ve got the Dan a4 h20 and I love it, I’d recommend checking that out, it has support for a 240mm aio and a triple slot/triple fan gpu, I’m running a 7600 oc with a ryzen 5800 non x and 32gb 3600, 1440p in val (my main game) is BUTTER smooth at 165hz and it’s even pretty quiet for such a powerful little box, and I can still take it in a backpack with my headphones, keeb, mouse, and even my portable monitor if I go on a vacation or a friends house, or my parents for jackbox games on the tv 😂

I like that it was actually at the budget including tax. It doesn’t make any sense to not include tax in builds with a set budget. (Yes I understand some states don’t have tax but if you’re building in a state or country that has sales tax it should be in there)

You could use the ch160 from deep cool decent case while not being expensive

Building SFF for $1k? Doing it at all is a win and actually impressive. You do a great job of working around the "White Tax" for monochromatic white builds and SFF so far!

Hey, what is the most high end pc you can get in that case?

I have built a mini ITX last year, the case was cheap, around 65 Euro. Silverstone SG13. Yes the case is cheap and you notice that on the materials used. But it has an advantage that you even can fit a modestly sized ATX PSU in it which brings down the cost A LOT. I did end up paying the white tax but yea I'm okay with that. Yea it's all kinda crammed in there but that's the ITX life for ya :) I wanted a ITX PC I could easily fit in an old backpack I have used for school a 100 years ago, I can fit the case in there with the wires, a wireless gamingmouse and a 60% keyboard. Easy for travel. My next step will be to build it in a suitcase with also a portable monitor mounted. It would be more of a flex move then a usefull one because the way it is now, a Ryzen 5 5600, 16 gigs of DDR4-3600 and a 1660 Super and as storage a 2TB Samsung 980 Pro which I bought for a great price on sale 6 months prior to deciding to build an ITX so yea.. I'm happy witi it. I ended up only buying the case, mobo, CPU and RAM to finish my ITX, the rest were new, newish or used parts from other projects, I only had a Ryzen 7 5800X on my shelf so I had to buy that 5600 which is perfectly fine for what I do with it. Because it's just a secondary computer, so I dont have to haul 30-40lb of PC everywhere I want to take it.

for anyone that doesn’t know, you can do micro centers bundle deals which comes with a motherboard, cpu and ram. If you don’t like one of those parts you can swap it to whatever motherboard / ram you want and pay the difference. He could’ve saved money doing this but it seems like he never knows about these bundles

Total = $977 + Tax

You should try building in the formd t1. It's a PC case you assemble your self and good contender for water cooling.

I want a Fractal North case so bad. The wood on the front is nearly identical to the wood stain on my desk and it would look so good. The Terra is gorgeous but ITX is just so expensive

PBO and XMP works on any a520 boards but software O.C. is not working for ram or cpu even if you can do it trough UEFI settings manually. fun fact: if you buy a prebuilt pc like an acer nitro pc XMP CANNOT be enabled even if it is a b550 chipset
